"Boss? " Charlie asked Dylan when he didn't answer.

The flustered expression on Dylan's face can be seen while staring at the lady in front of the small nursery.

" Ah yes, she is the new person in charge of the nursery in the town. She is Ms. Reza, the daughter of the Roland household. " Charlie explained to his boss.

" From what I remember, the Roland couple had a daughter who died in an accident when we were teenager. " Dylan asked in curiosity.

" I heard they adopted this one and let her grow up in the city. " Charlie explained from what he heard.

" Why boss? Do you know her ? " Charlie asked.

" Not a bit. " Dylan said and continue to walk away from the nursery.

CHUBBY NURSERY

" So he came back." Lily who came from inside said while her eyes focused on the men that is walking away not far from the front side of the nursery.

" Who?" Reza asked innocently as she looks back to Lily.

" Dylan Crossford, the heir to the powerful gang of this town. I heard he was sent to the city four years ago because of the bloody incident that took place in this town. But trust me, he can make any woman be his slave. " Lily who just engaged gulped.

Reza smiled and nods her head side by side thinking that Lily is exaggerated.

" And I thought that Ryan will be the heir to the throne after the king ? " Reza went inside to fix the chairs and tables that they have used.

" Supposedly, after Dylan. " Lily walks inside the classroom to help Reza.

HOME

After cleaning the room, Reza went to the market and buy fruits and flower. She goes to the hospital directly.

Reza kissed her father's forehead and put down the flowers. Her mother get the apple and peel it quietly.

" I told you, you don't need to come. You also need to rest from work. " Ray said while coughing.

" I'm okay papa, I will be still worried if I am home without you and mom. " Reza said while holding her papa's hand.

Ray did not argue and took a breath in surrender.

May give the plate of apple to her husband.

" How was work, dear? " May ask Reza.

" As usual mom. Except this guy who Lily was talking about. The prodigal son, I supposed? The one who was back from the city? " Reza said while getting a slice of apple.

"Dylan." May said without a tone.

" Keep away from him. " Ray said it as an order.

" Don't worry about it. We don't have business with each other, so we won't even bother to look at each other. " Reza said with a chill tone to make his father calm.

DYLAN WORKPLACE

" And here are the papers for those lands that you have already bought. But still we need time to convince the other owners to sell their 's. " Charlie said.

" Did I not make my instruction clearly? I told you to complete before it before submitting in my office. " Dylan said while looking at his phone.

" The Roland couple is one of those people who don't want to sell their land near the area. " Charlie said.

Now, Charlie have his attention.

" And you are telling me this because ? " Dylan asked in curiosity.

"Well, you are looking at their daughter with a loving eyes earlier and considering your past with them ... I don't know what will I do? " Charlie said with hesitation.

" Let me deal with this for your consideration then. " Dylan gets the papers of the Roland couple and separate it from the rest.

Charlie did not walk away in front of Dylan's table.

" Anything else? " Dylan ask.

" I don't know boss, but something have change in you after you live in the city. " Charlie is trying to figure out while holding his chin with his finger.

" Do you want me to prove to you that I can still remove your nails one by one if you won't get away from me at this moment? " Dylan is smiling demonically.

Charlie is scared upon seeing this expression of his boss, so he went away from his office.

CHARLIE, THE RIGHT-hand

Charlie is chilling in the bar with his favorite girl Betty.

" Is it a woman? " Charlie is figuring out what makes Dylan changed.

" What do you mean? " Betty asked while drinking the beer.

" The guy I knew change from being a spoiled brat kid into a man in an instant, do you think a woman maybe involved? Just how capable this woman is ? " Charlie said questioning himself out loud.

Betty is smiling at this fool man who just want companion and someone to talk to when he is thinking about his beloved boss.

" And what makes you think of that? " Betty ask.

" I had seen him looking into space with a loneliness in his eyes and for the first time he took interest into a woman. " Charlie said.

" Isn't it interesting ? Why not asked your boss about why he is like this? " Betty asked.

" He won't tell me, I know this guy. He won't tell a soul if he's hurt or is about to die. " Charlie answered.

" What makes you think that he's hurt? " Betty asked.

" Well, I have this hunch that someone broke his heart. You know what I mean? But the question is who? Who would try to break his heart? As you know he can have someone he wants ? Why would he end up like that? " Charlie is insisting.

" You know what ? You look at you boss as if he was a god or something. Do it ever occurred to you that there were more powerful ones in the city? " Betty is saying the fact.

Charlie is silent and in a deep thought.

" Do you think he lost to someone more handsome and powerful than him? " Charlie is still processing because Betty have a point.

ROLAND FAMILY

May and Reza were talking outside the private room of Ray.

May have the paper bills of the hospital and an enveloped that came from the bank.

May is silent and wipe her tears that is about to fall on her cheeks.

Reza gets the papers and enveloped from her hands.

" The hospital said that everything is free except for his medicine that we needed to buy outside. And it's been two months, I thought I can pay the loan from the bank that I used for the first month in the hospital, but I did not expect that he will be diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. The truth is I already sell the three cows just to pay some of it, but the interest is just too high. " May is somewhat depressed.

Reza hugs May and stay silent.

CHUBBY NURSERY

Reza has been silent the whole day and Lily noticed it, she knew that when she is like this she might be in a deep thought about something.

" Are you okay? " Lily had a genuine concern look on her face.

" Do you know somewhere where I can get a job ? A part-time job?" Reza said while wiping the cabinets.

" Is it about Mr. Ray Roland ? Your father ? " Lily asked in a soft voice.

Reza nodded with a sigh.

" I don't know if it would suit you, but we only have one big time businessman here who hires a beautiful lady, Mr. Chia. The owner of the night owl club. " Lily hesitated at first.

" I might try I guess..." Reza answered.

NIGHT OWL CLUB

Mr. Chia look at Reza from top to bottom that makes her nervous and gulp.

" Isn't the daughter of the Roland household? " Mr. Chia said while letting go of the smoke from his mouth.

Mr. Chia is not that old, from Reza's assumption he might be still in his 50s. He is a small in height and wearing a suit as a typical businessman in a movie, everything he wears is a gold.

" From my memories, your father was not a fan of my little paradise. Did he know that you are here now? " Mr. Chia ask in suspicion.

Everyone knew that Mr. Ray Roland was once a cop who is loyal to his duty, until he retired.

" I ...." Reza bow her head and lost of words.

In an instant a woman with a seductive dress opened the door and there is a man who is behind her.

" Darling, Dylan is here! " Aria said with a lovely mode.

Aria covered her mouth when she realized that Reza was there.

" I didn't know that you are busy. " Aria looks at her husband.

" Don't be jealous now darling, Reza came for an interview. " Mr. Chia said while putting down his cigar and Aria came to his side, sit on his lap.

Dylan crossed his arms and lean on the door after they closed it.

" Don't scare her will you? " Aria get Reza's resume on the table and read it.

" Applying as a waitress?..." Aria covered her mouth to prevent her laugh.

" You know what kind of business do we have here right? And applying as a waitress?... Haha," Aria cannot contain her laugh.

" I ... I'm sorry. It seems that I came to the wrong place. " Reza closed her eyes because of embarrassment and was supposed to stand.

"Come on sweetie I didn't tell that we don't need you here. We don't need waitress actually but if you know how to experiment with different kinds of alcohol then we might need you. Barista ? " Aria said.

Reza bite and licked her lower lip as a sign that she's thinking about it.

Dylan who is watching the whole conversation saw this and a certain someone who did the same appeared in his mind.

" Okay. When will I start ? " Reza decided at last.

" Well the business starts at 7:00 evening. You can be in charge of those early comers who want to chill in the bar. " Aria said.

Reza's face lightened up because the nursery is closing at 3:30, and she still had time to rest.

" How about tomorrow? You seem to have a sad day today. " Aria said.

Reza smiled.

DYLAN

Reza stand and started to walk going out of the door.

While walking, she starts to have this feeling of butterflies in the stomach while watching the man looking at her with an intense expression that she cannot determine what is it. As if his eyes is longing, sad and pleading. But Reza had to admit that the man is bringing her excitement into her core.

Reza gulp first before speaking.

" Do I know you? " Reza said without thinking.

" Do you know me? " The big voice Dylan can be heard.

Their eyes meet and both felt the intensity.

" Can I passed through the door? You're blocking it. " Reza can't wait to get away from him.

Dylan smiled and started to take a step going to Mr. Chia's table, but he whispered something while passing beside Reza.

" I thought you were dead. " He said.

Reza did not take any interest about it and thought that it's one of his playboy facade to be mysterious until he messes with any woman's head.

CHUBBY NURSERY

Reza is dealing with Hannah who is five years of age. She is having tantrums that day and throw all her food on the floor, Reza needs to change her clothes.

After removing all Hannah's clothes, Reza cannot believe what she is seeing.

Hannah's right shoulder have a bruise and also her thighs. Reza immediately report to the manager.

They immediately call Hannah's mother, and she arrived as soon as possible.

The manager, Reza and Lilian who is Hannah's mother were all in the office.

The manager and Reza were waiting for Lilian to speak.

" It's a mistake that I took Hannah here. " Lilian said with an angry voice.

" This is a small town Lilian, and gossips starts to spread. " Daniel who is the manager of the Chubby Nursery said.

" Gossips are gossips until it is proven. " Lilian said.

" A fresh bruise on her thigh and shoulder are enough evidence to report it as an abused. " Daniel insisted.

" Are you sure it's not here? I can complain that it happened here in your nursery. Do you think who will they believe? " Lilian said with confidence.

" Reza might be even investigated, and your chubby nursery might be closed. " Lilian said with a mocking tone.

" As I've said, evidence Mr. Daniel. If you close your mouth shut then I may pretend to be a good citizen of this town once in a while. I have no record of anything else from what I can remember. " Lilian continues to talk.

Daniel sighed. Lilian get Hannah that day without a scene.

" After Lilian and her husband divorce, she won the custody of her child since Hannah is only four years old. And after a year, rumors said that Lilian brought her new boyfriend home and is now living with the mother and daughter. " Daniel said while looking outside the window.

Daniel has the same age as Reza's father, and he is a father figure in the nursery.

" This is not the first time that I've seen bruises in Hannah's body. And the same scene happens every time I wanted to report Lilian about the abused. I --- I'm really ashamed that at my age I am afraid of her threat. " Daniel said while closing his palm.

" If the nursery will be closed under investigation, Me, Lilian and the others who are dependent on our job here in nursery will be jobless. I think I understand how you feel sir. " Reza is sad and helpless.

THINGS THAT MATTERS

Exactly 7:00 pm and Reza wears her uniform as a barista, the big club has a four side counter and in the middle is the five big tables for card games and different games for gambling.

Since it is still early the left counter who is assigned to her is the one who is opened. From what she heard 9:00 pm is the time when the DJ will come and all the other counters will open. Even the main event for the dancers will start at 9:00 pm.

She is even amazed when she found out how big the night owl club is , she is now in the underground of it. The first floor is where the main entrance and where the dance floor is . While the ground floor is where the gamblers are stationed.

Reza was even surprised that her hands knew what she is doing. When a costumer came one by one and ordered something, it seems that her body voluntarily knew what she was doing.

Dylan who is watching upstairs from the VIP room through the thick and shaded glass is secretly impressed with her while playing dart.

" I didn't even know that she knew how to mix those things. " He thought while watching Reza.

The security is stricter in the first floor since 18 and below are not allowed to enter but in the ground floor, it seems anyone who wants to play can enter.

The bouncer started to open the one big table and prepared to the players who just arrived. A man in his 30s wearing a suit and the other is a man wearing a hoodie started to sit. They chose to play the cards.

Because there isn't much costumer in the counter, Reza has a time to watch both guys to play. From the start, the hoodie guy seems tense and the guy wearing the suit seems to relax.

" It's getting boring, only two games, and you are out of cash. " The man with the suit said.

Reza can hear them since the counter is near the table where they are playing.

The hoodie guy bite his finger nails as a sign of uneasiness.

" I heard that you are accepting an organ donor. I have a stepdaughter, she is only five. She can give her eyes or any organ, she is healthy I can assure you that. " The hoodie guy said.

His words make Reza cover her mouth because of disbelief.

"Oh? And where is she? " The man with the suit said.

" She is with me in the car, do you want me to fetch her? " The hoodie guy said while grinning.

Reza remembers the hoodie guy, this is the guy who fetch Hannah in the nursery today. Her heart started to race.

The guy in the suit look at his wristwatch and think in a minute.

" I think I want to take my dinner first if you wouldn't mind. " The man in a suit smiled.

" Su- Sure take your time. I will wait here while you're having your dinner. " The hoodie man smiled.

" Are you sure it's okay to leave your 'money' in your car? " He is referring to the child in the car.

" It's better to let her be weak than to give her to you with a crying sound right? " The hoodie man said.

" Well, whatever your plans are. " The man in a suit said and walk away from the table.

Reza planned something in her mind.

" I will just go to washroom." Reza said to the bouncer.

Reza immediately go to the lift and pressed the parking lot button. She wants to save the child who is sleeping inside the car.

Since they only have two costumer that time, Reza did not have a hard time finding the car. But the problem is how she would open the car.

Reza don't want the car to be alarmed and get any attention from the bouncers.

Using her pointed heels, Reza thought to break the glass from the outside hoping for it to work.

" Just what do you think you are doing? " A powerful voice said.

Reza knew whom the voice belong when she saw Dylan walking into her direction.
