The Moon Curse

Chapter 1: The Captured prince

The scent of blood lingered in the cold night air.

Jungkook stood at the edge of the battlefield, his golden eyes glowing under the pale moonlight. His sword dripped with the blood of his enemies, staining the snow beneath him. The Lunar Wolves had won again.

But tonight, something was different.

The warriors of the Moonlit Rabbit Clan had fought fiercely, refusing to surrender. And now, kneeling before Jungkook, bound in chains, was their prince.

Taehyung.

His silver-white hair fell over his eyes, matted with dirt and blood. He was breathing heavily, his pale skin almost glowing in the moonlight. Even in captivity, there was something ethereal about him—delicate, yet unbroken.

Jungkook had seen countless prisoners before, but this one… this one made something stir inside him.

“Kill him,” one of the wolf warriors growled.

Jungkook tightened his grip on his sword. His instincts screamed at him to end it—this was his enemy, a creature of prey. But something held him back.

Taehyung raised his head, meeting Jungkook’s gaze with defiance. His lips curled into a soft, almost mocking smile. “What’s wrong, Wolf Prince? Afraid of a rabbit?”

A dangerous silence fell over the battlefield.

Jungkook sheathed his sword. “Take him to the palace.”

Gasps echoed among the wolves. No one dared to question their prince, but confusion was clear in their eyes.

Taehyung chuckled, his voice laced with amusement. “Keeping me as a pet?”

Jungkook stepped closer, his voice low and dangerous. “You should pray, little rabbit. Because once we reach the palace… you belong to me.”

Taehyung’s smile didn’t fade, but for the first time, his heart raced.

Because deep down, he knew—this was only the beginning.

The journey to the Lunar Wolf Kingdom was long, the night stretched endlessly before them. Taehyung sat in the royal carriage, his wrists bound with enchanted silver cuffs that drained his strength. The wolves did not trust him, and he did not blame them.

Outside, the howls of the pack echoed through the dark forests. The trees whispered like ghosts, the shadows stretched like claws. Everything about this land was unfamiliar, cold, and merciless—just like the man sitting across from him.

Jungkook.

The Wolf Prince sat in silence, his golden eyes fixed on Taehyung. His presence was overwhelming, filling the carriage like an unspoken storm. He did not speak, did not move, yet Taehyung could feel his power like fire licking at his skin.

Finally, Taehyung sighed and leaned back against the seat, stretching his legs slightly. “If you’re going to stare, at least say something. It’s rude to keep a guest waiting.”

Jungkook’s lips curled into a smirk. “You are not a guest, little rabbit.” His voice was deep, smooth, but laced with warning. “You are my prisoner.”

Taehyung tilted his head, unfazed. “And what do you plan to do with me, Wolf Prince?”

Jungkook leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees. The carriage lantern cast flickering shadows across his sharp features, making him look even more dangerous. “You will find out soon enough.”

A shiver ran down Taehyung’s spine, but he refused to show fear. Instead, he smirked. “Are you sure you can keep me?” His voice was teasing, but his eyes held a quiet challenge. “Wolves are hunters, but rabbits are survivors.”

Jungkook chuckled darkly. “Survive all you want, but you are in my kingdom now. And here, you will play by my rules.”

Taehyung’s smirk didn’t fade, but deep inside, he knew—escape would not be easy...

The fire crackled softly, casting golden light across the chamber. Taehyung sat by the window, staring at the vast kingdom below. The Lunar Wolves ruled these lands with power and blood, their reign undisputed. And now, he was trapped in their den.

The cuffs around his wrists had been removed, but Taehyung knew better than to think he was free. The invisible leash around his throat was Jungkook’s cold presence, always watching, always lingering.

A knock echoed through the room before the doors swung open. Jungkook entered, his black fur-lined cloak draped over his shoulders, his golden eyes sharp. He carried a tray of food, placing it on the table.

“You haven’t eaten.” His tone was neutral, but it was not a question.

Taehyung looked at the food—warm bread, roasted meat, fresh fruits. Luxurious, considering he was a prisoner. “How kind of you, Wolf Prince,” he said, amusement lacing his words.

Jungkook ignored the sarcasm. “Eat.”

Taehyung leaned back, resting his chin on his palm. “And if I don’t?”

Jungkook’s gaze darkened. “Then I will feed you myself.”

The challenge in his voice sent a shiver down Taehyung’s spine. He huffed, picking up a piece of bread. “You really are possessive, aren’t you?”

Jungkook watched him carefully. “I take care of what belongs to me.”

Taehyung paused mid-bite. His gaze lifted to meet Jungkook’s. “I don’t belong to you.”

Jungkook smirked, stepping closer. “Not yet.”

Taehyung’s fingers tightened around the bread. The confidence in Jungkook’s voice, the certainty—it unsettled him. Not because he feared it, but because a part of him didn’t completely hate it.

And that was dangerous.

---

That night, Taehyung lay awake in bed, staring at the moon outside.

Something about this place, about Jungkook, was pulling him in. He could feel it, like an invisible thread wrapping around his soul. The same feeling from his dreams—the ones where a shadowed figure whispered his name, reaching for him through time.

His eyes fluttered shut.

And then—

A vision.

Blood on the snow. A battlefield soaked in crimson. A voice, deep and broken, calling his name.

"Taehyung."

His eyes snapped open, his breath coming in short gasps.

What was happening to him?

And why did it feel like… this had all happened before?

——

The fire had burned low, leaving only embers glowing in the dimly lit chamber. Taehyung sat up in bed, his breath unsteady, his heart racing.

The vision—no, the memory—lingered in his mind like a shadow. Blood. Snow. A voice calling his name, filled with longing and sorrow.

It felt too real.

He ran a hand through his silver-white hair, exhaling shakily. Why was he seeing these things? And why did it feel like the voice in his vision… belonged to Jungkook?

A cold gust of wind brushed against his skin, and Taehyung realized the balcony doors were open. He frowned. He was certain they had been locked.

Slowly, he rose from the bed and padded across the stone floor, stepping onto the balcony. The night air was crisp, the scent of pine and snow filling his lungs.

And then—

“Can’t sleep?”

The deep voice sent a jolt through him.

Taehyung turned his head sharply. Jungkook stood at the edge of the balcony, leaning against the railing. His black cloak fluttered slightly in the wind, his golden eyes glowing faintly under the moonlight.

Taehyung’s fingers curled against the cold stone. “Do you always watch your prisoners at night?”

Jungkook smirked. “Only the interesting ones.”

Taehyung scoffed but said nothing. His gaze drifted back to the moon, a strange weight pressing against his chest.

For a while, neither of them spoke. The silence wasn’t uncomfortable, but it was heavy—filled with unspoken words, unasked questions.

Then Jungkook spoke.

“You saw something, didn’t you?”

Taehyung stiffened.

He turned to look at Jungkook, but the prince’s expression was unreadable, his eyes piercing.

“You keep staring at the moon like it holds answers,” Jungkook continued, voice quieter now. “Like you remember something you shouldn’t.”

Taehyung’s lips parted slightly, but no words came out.

How did Jungkook know?

The Wolf Prince took a step closer, the distance between them shrinking. “Tell me.”

Taehyung swallowed. He wasn’t sure why, but his instincts told him not to reveal too much. “It was just a dream,” he lied.

Jungkook’s gaze searched his, as if trying to pull the truth from him. Then, unexpectedly, he chuckled.

“You’re a terrible liar, little rabbit.”

Taehyung felt his pulse quicken. “And you’re too nosy, Wolf Prince.”

Jungkook’s smirk faded slightly, his expression turning serious. He reached up, his fingers brushing against Taehyung’s cheek for just a second before he pulled away.

“Be careful, Taehyung,” he murmured. “Dreams have a way of turning into reality in this kingdom.”

With that, he turned and walked back inside, leaving Taehyung alone under the moon’s cold glow.

Taehyung touched his cheek absentmindedly.

He didn’t know what was happening.

But he knew one thing—

The past was trying to find him.

And Jungkook was at the center of it all.
