Too Late
Part 1.
Ronan
"Auri, can we go to the park today?"
Ronan asked, nuzzling his wife's hair. His hands were wrapped around Aurora's body, holding her tightly.
Aurora
"Park? Don't you have work today?"
Aurora asked, looking at her husband with wide doe eyes. She had a soft pout on her pinkish lips, which were swollen as a result of their morning makeout session.
Ronan
"I'm planning to take a break for three months,"
Ronan avoided Aurora's eyes while saying that.
Aurora
"A break? For THREE MONTHS?!!"
Aurora shouted and sat up on the bed, but immediately laid back down with a loud hiss. Her husband had been rough last night.
Ronan
"Hmm. I'm planning to spend the whole time with you. Don't you like it?"
Ronan pulled his wife onto his chest. She snuggled into his bare chest. They were still naked under the sheets.
Aurora
"Of course, I love it. I was just surprised,"
Aurora mumbled into Ronan's chest. Ronan caressed her soft back with one hand and massaged her head with the other.
Ronan
"I finished a big project, so I deserve a good break. I couldn't even spend time with you for the past few weeks,"
Ronan made Aurora lay on top of him.
Aurora
"That's good! We can enjoy so much!"
Aurora sat on Ronan's thighs and cheered loudly.
Ronan stared at his wife's shining eyes, which held a whole galaxy in them. Soon, he felt his eyes getting teary. Before Aurora could see that, Ronan changed their positions and hovered over his wife.
Aurora
"Hubby, what are you doin-ahhh mm."
Aurora tried to save herself from Ronan's naughty mouth, which was attacking her neck and chest, but Ronan pinned her hands and sucked on her neck harshly, adding more hickeys.
Aurora
"Hub... I'm sore-mm please."
Ronan
"Just one time, love. I'll go slow,"
Ronan mumbled in her neck. Because of Ronan's wet tongue dancing on her skin, Aurora didn't feel the tears that fell onto her body.
Ronan made love to his baby once again and then carried her to the bathroom to wash up. They watched movies and cuddled until noon, and after sunset, they went to the park.
Both of them lay on the blanket they brought and talked about the stars. It was already 12:30 AM when Ronan carried a sleeping Aurora home.
After removing Aurora's shoes and jacket, he laid her on the bed and covered her with a fluffy blanket.
Ronan pecked her forehead and went to his office room.
Ronan took a piece of paper from inside his diary and added another tick.
The next one was visiting an aquarium.
He planned to do it tomorrow.
Yes, it was his bucket list.
Part 2.
Ronan still remembered the day he and his wife—his girlfriend at the time—created that bucket list. It was exactly two months before Ronan proposed to Aurora.
Both of them had gone on a picnic at a local park when Aurora suddenly brought up the idea of writing a bucket list.
Ronan smiled at the memory. They were so childish back then. They sat back-to-back and created their own lists. They laughed while reading each other's lists, having so much fun that day. Both of them promised to complete both lists together.
Oh how cruel the fate was..
At that time, Ronan didn't know he had only a few years to complete them. Just a few years..
Now, Ronan was determined to do everything he wanted within the three months he had left. Yes, Ronan only had three more months to live. His heart was weak, and the only way for him to survive was a heart transplant—but the doctors couldn't find a right match for him.
His parents were still hoping to find a matching heart, but Ronan had already given up. Now, all he needed was to die without regret. That's why he resigned from his job and planned to spend every second with his lovely wife.
Ronan placed the paper inside the diary and went to his bedroom. After changing into comfortable clothes, Ronan lay down next to his wife and spooned her.

"I'm sorry, my love."
Part 3.
Ronan
"Auri, can't you cancel it?"
Aurora
"I can't, hubby. I really want to meet Jonah. Please, hubby, try to understand. I didn't go to two of his birthdays, I can't miss this one too. He's like my brother, Ronan. He's all I had before you came into my life..”
Aurora Kensington was an orphan girl who was abandoned by her parents at the age of three. One day when she was getting bullied by a few older children in the orphanage, Jonah saved her. Since that day, they had been best friends. The two had a hard time in that hellhole. So as soon as Jonah turned 15, he ran away with 12-year-old Aurora. He did many part-time jobs to fill Aurora's tummy. They were not just friends; they were siblings in everything but blood.
Both of their educations stopped, so Aurora also started to work at a café after she turned 16. After two years, when Aurora was 18, she met Ronan Devereux, a young CEO. It didn't take much time for them to fall in love with each other. Even though Ronan's parents opposed, Ronan married Aurora and took her to London with him.
Jonah refused to leave his home country, even though both Ronan and Aurora wanted him to come with them. So Ronan financially helped Jonah build his own restaurant. Even though Jonah refused, Ronan didn't listen to him.
Since she met Ronan, Aurora had the best life. Ronan made sure to spoil his little wife. Aurora used to visit Jonah at least three times a year, but she couldn't visit for the past two years because Ronan got really busy with work, and Aurora didn't complain.
But she couldn't miss another birthday of her brother.
Ronan
"But I wanna spend time with you.”
Aurora
“Then come with me. We can have so much fun. We can go to the places where we used to go when we were dating. We can go to the park where we met for the first time."
Aurora sat on Ronan's lap and wrapped her hands around his neck.
Ronan
"I can't come with you, Auri. After three months, you can go. Just stay with me until my break ends, hmm?"
Ronan snuggled into his wife's neck and kissed the soft skin.
Aurora
"You are being so unfair now, hubby. If you can't come with me, let me go."
Aurora cupped Ronan's face and looked into his eyes. Aurora knew how to use her magic. She looked at Ronan with her extra big puppy eyes and a sad pout.
Aurora
"Please, hubby, your Auri really wants to go home."
And how the hell was Ronan supposed to say no to that? So he nodded his head with a sad sigh..
Aurora bounced on Ronan's lap.
Ronan
"Yes, but you have to come back in three days."
Aurora
"Yayyy!! You are the best hubby."
Aurora pulled Ronan into a passionate kiss. Again, Aurora didn't see the tears that slipped from her husband's eyes.
'I also wanna come with you, baby. But I can't travel on flights, love.'
Ronan kissed Aurora deeply. He pushed Aurora onto the bed and sucked on her tongue like a starved man. He didn't let his wife open her eyes. He didn't let Aurora see his tears.
