and I am on a mission to destroy the enemy country by abducting their treasure
of course, it sounds evil
But for the sake of your own country, what wouldn't you do?
Alas...unlike my other mates, I have no one to turn to.
And no parents for whom I could sacrifice my life for.
I definitely tried to settle down...
But my job required me to stay off home for months on end
And that is definitely...a big red flag for women
they will accept a drunkard with no financial stability with open arms...

I close the door shut and dismiss all the other alarms built inside the bunker
I notice the withering rose glowing weakly in the dark...
And there was an open book next to it.
...not knowing which treasure was which, I took both of them and placed them in my bag
And just as I was about to leave, I see a group of soldiers come to me, their guns ready.

Before the soldiers aimed their guns, I threw the smoke bombs and laid down on the floor
I avoided their gunshots and successfully crawled my way out of the bunker.

*stood up, took out a gas bomb, threw it inside the bunker and shut the door
The gas will fill up the room and all the soldiers will die out of lack of oxygen
I am amazed that this mission impossible was actually possible
I glance down at my bag and see the withering rose once again
I just realised that the rose wasn't withering...

*appeared smugly out of nowhere

I climbed down the building slowly, but surely...
And when I landed on the ground, I was about to hop onto a helicopter and bring that treasure to someone else...
Only that there was no helicopter
No crazy man cursing me to the bloody rose...
There was war in front of my eyes

He really turned out to be the sorcerer
And I ended up in the novel as the feared and respected General Kaelen Caldwell

It looks like the soldier games I played when I was a kid
I was hell crazy over those games
And now that we are surrounded with enemies, I need to think of one of the fighting positions...

... *looked around the enemies
Someone came right onto me, aiming his blade
And as if I was built for war, I clenched the sword in my hand and stabbed it inside his intestines
I don't want to tell you that I could see one of his intestines sticking out

RAISE UP YOUR SHIELDS!
They obeyed and the soldiers in the front raised their shields
While the soldiers with the arrows shot the enemy troops
I was enjoying the battle a little too much...
I didn't care where I was...
But I fit into my role easily
Until I realised that this is a magical world and in the battle, someone threw me a skull that bit onto my flesh like piranha
I was also quite surprised to find out that I started the story with war.
But, of course, there were more surprises to come
Because I didn't expect my single a$$ self to be equipped with a full family package

In the story, I have been fighting for around 3 years
But, because I got transported into this novel midway...
I have been in the battle for 5 months
Undoubtedly, my side won and I earned a couple of recognition awards or something.
But I have never felt homesick.
Because I wasn't used to having someone come back to me.
It was always me losing people I loved in various circumstances
...okay, let's not talk about this anymore
As I look at my heavily torn and worn boots, I get out of my horse
Some servant comes to fetch the horse while someone else opens the gates for me
It all feels like I am royalty
But I am merely the Royal General
...not something to brag, honestly
Anyway, as I come inside, I am met with a butler

I sigh heavily before I take off my clothes and take a shower
As I leave the bathroom, I see my clothes folded neatly on the bed
I look down at the new scars that I got during the war before shaking off the tiredness and putting on my clothes
I should be happy, shouldn't I?
I should remember not to get too attached
I should remember not to love too much.
Or else...when I lose them...
It would be hard to bear all the pain
And live on while they are out there, decaying underground...
Their unfinished dreams as dead as themselves...
their feelings as nonexistent as the feeling of forever.
I had rather not tie myself too much
