Now let me explain the family situation.
Jessica's mother died due to cancer. Her father married Victoria before Jessica's mother's death, this gave stress to her declining her health and resulted in her death. Jessica was 3 years old when her mother died.
Victoria (Jessica's step-mother) was pregnant when Jessica's mom died.
After Rosa (Jessica's step-sister) was born, Jess was neglected. She felt as if she became invisible, it was her mother's recorded videos, audios and her diary that she recorded for Jess before dying were what made her feel alive.
Nick is Jessica's cousin who had returned from abroad 2-3 years ago. He became her emotional support. He is close with Jess.
Teresa and Kevin are Jess's childhood friend, but later Kevin went abroad, so their friendship weakened, and his family shifted to another city leaving her all alone.
They returned after few years and Teresa and Jessica became best friends, they rarely met, but they were close(online friendship). They couldn't meet often because their family are not exactly on good terms. Elizabeth (Teresa's mom) was Jess's mom's best friend. Deep down Eliza hates Alexander for betraying her best friend, but she didn't cut their connection because of Jess.
Kevin on the other hand was still abroad. She didn't know anything about him.
She didn't even know he had returned back
So, basically The Rowan family is family of the Carson family and the Ross family is a friend of the Carson family.
They're all business friends and have connections in the underworld.
