Prologue

   Long ago, in the World of Darkness, there were only humans. Most of humans were filled with arrogance, hatred, and ignorance. But then, a portal to a universe filled with monsters and creatures was opened. It was a punishment for the humans, and the war between monsters and humans, had begun.

Centuries later on earth, there was a Teen named Kazuki Nizeru. He lives in an apartment in Japan, Osaka and he is still 15 years old. His grades aren’t very great in his school. But, he doesn’t care at all about his grades. He likes to go to the gym to train his body. He likes sports, especially football. He also likes reading manga.

In his school, there is a girl named Akane Kirayami. She is the most popular girl in his school, she is always cheerful and also beautiful. Kazuki liked her.

One day, when Kazuki was playing football, he saw Akane watching the match. He wanted to show off, so he kicked the ball so hard that it flew out of the field. Kazuki found it on a railway, (But he didn’t notice it was a railway) then he picked it up and when he looked it front of him “Watch out!” Screamed Akane, he saw a bullet train. At that moment, Kazuki knew that he couldn’t run and he would die. So he closed his eyes. But, when he was in the brink of death, he heard a voice calling him and saying “Live.”

Then, Kazuki waked up in a place he doesn’t know. He looked around and all he saw was rumbles of houses in a forest. “Where am I? Shouldn’t I be dead?” he said to himself. He looked at his hands, they were different. He also looked at his clothes, he was wearing some kind of armor. And he could speak and understand a language he doesn’t know yet. He instantly realized that he was in Another World.

Chapter 1 : The Beginning Of A Demonic Adventure

He got up and saw a big fire from the other side of the forest. He walked and saw big monsters with horns, burning, and destroying a village. Then, someone called his name, “Rathomir!” Kazuki wanted to throw up because he had headaches hearing that name. He saw a vague flashback of a boy, but he heard a name, and it was “Rathomir Homura”. He guessed it was the name of the man he is possessing as in this world. He approached the man who called his name. The man was stuck in one of the broken houses. He helped the man get out, he was badly injured.

“Rathomir… I think I’m going to die soon. So take this sword, it’s not great, but at least it can cut something.” said the injured man.

“Thank you, I will use it to save the people in village” said Kazuki. Kazuki left the injured man there and goes to the

village.

Kazuki climbs a tree and sees the monsters gathering at one house, “Hmmm… They seem to be taking something tiny and… sharp?” said Kazuki to himself. Kazuki knew it had to be something special, but he can’t take the risk to take the box. The captain ordered the weak monsters to stay at the village until tomorrow and take hostage of the remaining villagers if, a small army from the kingdom comes. If not, kill them by afternoon. So he waited for some of the monsters to go. After that, Kazuki only sees six monsters in the village. Three guarding the house that the hostages are in, two other at the campfire, and one resting in a house. He first approached the one resting, he jumped into the window. He grabs his sword, but he looked at the monster, it was like a demon. “How could a demon be in a place like earth? Eh... now it’s not the time to think about that.” said Kazuki to himself.

He brings his sword closer to the demon’s neck, and cuts it. The demon screamed like hell when Kazuki tried to cut the neck, He put all of Rathomir’s power so he can cut it and make the demon die. But, the strength of Rathomir’s body wasn’t like Kazuki’s body strength.

Kazuki then used Rathomir’s foot to support the sword. It cutted the head off, but the other two demons at the campfire came. When he tried to pull out the sword out of the demon’s neck, it was too stuck onto the bed where the demon was sleeping. But luckily, there was a one-handed axe in the house. Kazuki picked it up, and it was small and light. One of the demons charged at him with a sword. He deflected it with the axe and splits open the head of demon. The other one charged as well, but he kicked the body of the demon onto the demon that’s charging. The demon was knocked down, that was his chance to kill him, and he splits the head. Kazuki learned that the head is the weakest spot and light weapons are good for Rathomir’s body. He looks for any items he could find in the demons pockets, he finds… a potion?

“So, this world contains magic as well? Great.” Said Kazuki annoyed, and a little bit scared. He walked to the other side of the village.

Kazuki found the house that the hostages were in, he saw only one guarding outside, so he assumed that the other two were resting somewhere. He quietly walked to the side of the house, and readies the axe. He tried to hit the heart with the axe with full strength of Rathomir’s body, and it worked, it killed the demon. But when, he opened the door, he only saw piles of body. “I swear I heard the captain ordered to kill the hostages tomorrow, but why now?” Said Kazuki to himself while being shocked and getting sick of the stench. He realized that it was a trap, and the other demons were here. Kazuki wanted to run, but it was too late, the captain and the other demons arrived.

“Take that lowly creature to the dungeon.” Shouted the captain.

“O- Oh yeah? Y- You think I’m just going to s- s- s- surrender like that?” Shouted back Kazuki angrily but scared at the same time.

But then, Kazuki hears a bunch humans screaming loudly coming to this village. It was a company of knights, they looked ready to die. A demon used magic to chain and hold hostage Kazuki, all of the demons ready their weapons.

“Stop, we have a hostage here!” Said the captain of the demons while bringing Kazuki to in front of the knights.

“We don’t care! The rules in this world is the weak dies and the strong-“ Said one of the knights.

The knight was punched with a pistol, “We are not here to make conflict with the people here. Our objective is to kill the demons and no more.” Said the captain.

The captain of the demons throws Kazuki far away back, he hits a house and passes out.

Kazuki opened his eyes and sees a girl besides him, he was in some kind of underground room,

and only a candle lights the room. “Ah, you’re finally awake!” Said the girl.

“Who are you, how old are you, and where am I?” Said

Kazuki while being dizzy and confused.

“My name is Khyeira, I’m 17. We’re in a secret room under my house. I heard some rumbling outside this room and I heard a human’s voice, I checked and it was, and you were passed out, so I brought you down here. What’s your name?” Asked the girl.

“I’m Rathomir and I’m….” Kazuki doesn’t know how old Rathomir is, so he just answers, “…15 years old.”

The girl laughed out at him. “What’s wrong?” Asked Kazuki.

“You’re actually younger than me?!?!” said Khyeira while still laughing.

Khyeira got up and opened the secret trapdoor that leads to outside. Kazuki took his axe and followed Khyeira out of the secret room, it was morning. They both saw many dead bodies of knights and some dead bodies of demons, the stench of the dead bodies were strong. He looks for any kind of weapons or items that he can find

in the dead bodies, he finds a short sword that Rathomir’s body can handle, and another light axe so he could dual-wield it. He also finds potions, Kazuki thought that he could find a potion store somewhere around here and get some information about what is going on with this world. “Hey, Khyeira. Do you know where these demons come from?” Asked Kazuki.

“No, they just come out of nowhere.” Answered Khyeira.

“Where do we go now?” Asked Kazuki.

“To the big city. But, we can’t get there in one day,

we’ll have to rest in other places.” Answered Khyeira while feeling doubtful.

Kazuki also looks for items in the houses, he found a backpack, and there was some bottle of water in it. He tells Khyeira that there is a house full of dead bodies. So before they go, they went to bury them. After that, they packed their stuff and started their journey to get to the big city.

Chapter 2 : A Small Town

   They walked on a small pathway that leads to a big roadway. On their way, Kazuki picked up

some fruits, most of them were apples. Khyeira just lets him picked them up, because she has no food, so she just could easily ask him for food. After a few lefts and rights, they finally arrived at the roadway. They saw a small city in front of them, but it was a bit far. Then, a vehicle that looks like a carriage came near them, but it didn’t use horses, she called the carriage. Kazuki inspected it. There was some kind engine under it, and the wheels looked like a car wheel. “To Torgovyn, please.” Said Khyeira to the coachman.

“As you say” Said the coachman.

The carriage was as fast as a car. The wind was fresh, and the sun was just starting to rise. Kazuki could see it all from the mountains.

   They finally arrived at Torgovyn, the town was busy and crowded, Khyeira planned to stay there for about five days, “First, We need to find a Inn” Said Khyeira.

“Ok, I’ll try to find it!” Said Kazuki while being energetic.

He got distracted by the stuff the traders were selling. He looked at a market stand that sells items for traveling, his eyes were attracted to a watch clock. But, he didn’t have any money. A girl’s voice shouted at him when he was looking at it. “What are you doing, eh? Weren’t you supposed to be looking for inn? Ah, forget about it, I found it, let’s go.” Said Khyeira while being annoyed by Kazuki.

“Wait! Can you buy me that watch clock? I really want it.” Said Kazuki.

She laughed at him “You sound like a little child. Fine. But, give me a quarter half of the fruit you collected.” Said Khyeira while still laughing.

He sincerely gave it. Although it was expensive, Khyeira buyed the watch clock anyway. Kazuki began to feel headaches again, he dropped to the ground “Are you ok? Rathomir? Hey Rathomir?!” Shouted Khyeira.

He saw flashbacks of Rathomir when he was still a baby. Rathomir was carried by a woman that still looks young, Kazuki knew it was Rathomir’s mother, her face wasn’t really clear. He gained his consciousness back, “Yeah, yeah, I’m fine.” Answered Kazuki.

Then, they both explored the town. They didn’t find any potion store, and it was bigger than they thought it was. And then after that, they walked to the inn, and rented a room, it was about 1000RLfor five nights. Luckily they got a room with two single beds. If not, Kazuki would’ve had to sleep on the floor.

The next morning Kazuki waked up, Khyeira wasn’t there. But, she left a note.

“Rathomir, I’m going to the woods to hunt animals, and then sell them to the store so we can get money. Grab your weapons and meet me there, I’ll teach you how to hunt.”

Kazuki wears Rathomir’s armor and grabbed his weapons. While he was walking in the streets, he could see the traders setting up the stands. He looked at his watch clock, it was still 7 A.M. in the morning. He arrived at the woods. He could hear an arrow pierced through a body of a small animal, it was Khyeira.  He approached her, he aimed his bow at him, but she lowered it immediately. “Don’t scare me like that!” Shouted Khyeira.

“Sorry, I didn’t know how to approach you.” Said Kazuki.

She gave the bow to Kazuki, “Try aiming for that tree. Steady the bow.” Rathomir’s hand was too tense, so she grabbed his hand. “And fire.” Said Khyeira. His face went a little bit red, he feels that although her hands look rough, but it was actually smooth.

“See? You can do it, just train a little bit more. You stay here and train with your weapons and this bow, while I’ll go hunting.” Said Khyeira

When Kazuki was training, he saw a deer. He wanted to try to kill it with the bow. He aimed at it, but it ran away. Khyeira went back to Kazuki, “Let’s go, it’s almost night time.” Said Khyeira while carrying many meats and feeling tired. They go to the meat store to sell the meat, it was not bad, she got 700RL.They went to the inn to rest for another day.

The next day, Khyeira was still asleep, maybe because she was tired the other day, Kazuki didn’t want to wake her up, So he borrowed her bow and goes to the woods, he trains like he did the other day. He saw a deer again, he aimed and steadied the bow, it hitted the deer’s leg and dropped to the ground. But, when he was about to kill it, Khyeira came, “Did you my steal my pouch?!?!” Asked Khyeira while being angry.

“Calm Down… No I didn’t, I just borrowed your bow. I just didn’t wanted to wake you up because you look tired.” Answered Kazuki with calm .

Khyeira remembered that there is bandits in these mountains, She telled that to Kazuki. Khyeira was being annoyed by herself because she was off guard. She asked to the receptionist in the inn, and the receptionist said that there was a man with his mouth covered by a bandana that come in to the inn and go to the rooms last night, and he didn’t go back downstairs, he was gone. But, Kazuki remembered last night he heard the sound of a curtain and a window opening in the room, and then closing.  He goes to the side of the inn, he sees some coins on the ground under the window in the room he was in. There were only those coins, and no more coins dropped by the bandit while he was running. They asked the villagers nearby the inn if last night they saw anyone suspicious running, no one knows because all of them sleeping. Then, they asked the guards, one of them knew, because he guards the gate at 12 midnight to 12 noon. “I saw something like an unclear figure, running. In the blink of an eye, it

was gone.” Said the guard. Kazuki and Khyeira lets it be.

They went back to hunting and training, Kazuki sees the deer that he had shot, has died. So he skinned his and took it. They went back at 5 P.M., Khyeira got more this time, she got 1400RL. But, she gave 210RL to Kazuki because deer’s are hard to catch.

The next day, Kazuki waked up early again, And Khyeira’s pouch was still there. He walked around the town and found a tailor shop. He had thought of it,  “But when me and her go to the big city, aren’t the people there going to see, that we are wearing clothes that looks like armor? “ Said Kazuki to himself. He walked in, and there was someone there. It was a tailor. “Ah, A Customer, Welcome!” Said the tailor.

“Thanks… Do you take orders? “ Said Kazuki.

“Of course I do! What kind of clothes do you want to order?” Asked The Tailor.

“A suit, one for a boy and one for a girl, Can you do that?” Answered Kazuki.

“I can but… I don’t have enough materials. But first, I need to measure your body, And the girl’s body as well.” Answered the tailor.

The tailor measures Kazuki’s body, “I have enough materials to make your suit, but for the girl, I need to buy it from Tihko in the Dead Lands.” Said the tailor.

Khyeira found Kazuki, “What are you doing?” Shouted Khyeira.

“I- I am ordering suits so you and i… don’t look suspicious in the big city…” Said Kazuki.

“You mean The Iron Lands? Hmmm…. you’re right, we need suits.” Answered Khyeira while being concerned.

The tailor measured Khyeira’s body. “Well, now I just need the materials... And oh! What’s your name and the girl’s name?” Said the tailor.

“I’m Ka- I meant Rathomir, and she is Khyeira.”Answered Kazuki

“Well, you can call me Keineth, greetings.” Said the tailor

“I can get the materials for you, what do you need?” Asked Kazuki

Keineth grabbed a piece of paper and wrote the materials on it. He said to Kazuki that he can find the materials in a secret room under an old well and the exit is somewhere under the old bridge and he also said to be careful. Kazuki and Khyeira pack up all they need and heads off to Tihko with a carriage.

Chapter 3 : A Merchant In The Dead Lands

   While on the way to Tihko, Kazuki saw many dead trees and the land was barren and dark. But, Kazuki and Khyeira saw some houses, they were very dirty and small, and also looks like empty. The coachman dropped them of in front of the wide bridge that leads to the town. “Be careful, there are crazy people in that town, and they have are what called “Guns” and they will not hesitate to kill you.” Said the coachman warning Kazuki and Khyeira.

They saw a well in the middle of the town, “Be quiet, we don’t want to trigger the crazy peoples here. And here, I bringed coats so we don’t look suspicious in the room under the well.” Whispered Khyeira.

Kazuki putted the coat on. They walked calmly quietly, Kazuki gets rid of the wood cover on the well. Khyeira jumped down, and signaled Kazuki that it’s safe. He was scared because it was a long way down, but he jumped down anyway and splashed onto the water. Under the well was like a dungeon, They opened a door in front of them, they saw jail cells. “This isn’t a dungeon, it’s a huge underground prison!” Whispered Kazuki.

They splitted up and search around the underground prison, the jail cells was dark and big, they couldn’t see what’s in it. With Rathomir’s sharp eyes, Kazuki could see a door, in a jail cell that wasn’t too dark. But, the jail cell was locked. He called Khyeira to take a look, She said she could picklock it. When she puts the picklock in the lock hole, it triggered something, and opened some jail cells not far away. They could hear the sound of a dog barking and running towards them.  “Protect me while I’m pick locking!” Said Khyeira.

Kazuki readies his sword. The sound of it was getting bigger and louder. He sees that it wasn’t a normal dog, it was a mutant and it had metal teeth. The dog jumped at Kazuki, he holded the dog’s bite with his sword. But then, suddenly a voice said “Hibernation!”, and then the dog fell asleep. He still readies his axes. A shadowy figure appeared.

“W- Who are you?! A- And... What did you do to the dog?” Shouted Kazuki.

“Calm down boy, I just putted a sleeping spell on it, and I’m the owner of these experiments. The name’s Skyreed, just call me Sky, Welcome and greetings.” Answered the shadowy figure calmly while approaching

Kazuki and Khyeira.

Kazuki could see his face, He was much taller than him, and a face full of scars. “Let me open that lock for you, young woman.” Said the man. He opens the lock with a special magical key and opened the door in the jail cell. It was a store, “Whatd’ya need boy?” Said Skyreed. Kazuki handed over the piece of paper that Keineth gave. Skyreed scrambled the stuff on the shelves. He grabbed some kind of fabric. He gave it to Kazuki, “210RL.” Said

Skyreed.

Kazuki gave it, which was all of his money, gone, just for materials. He told to Skyreed that he wanted to have a look at the “Experiments” in the cages. Skyreed turned on the lights, all of the monsters were “Hibernating”. Kazuki was attracted to one of them, a black horse, with black and metal armor. Skyreed waked it up, his eyes were bright yellow.  “Do you sell it? And how much?” Asked Kazuki.

“Hey Kazuki, no! I’m not going to buy for you!” Said Khyeira.

“I don’t sell it. But, since you and her came here, to this town, bravely, I’ll give it to you.” Answered Skyreed.

“Really? Thanks!” Said Kazuki while being pleased.

Skyreed opened it, and lets the horse out. “Whats his name?” Asked Kazuki.

“Hiyami. It’s a she.” Answered Skyreed.

Skyreed leads Kazuki and Khyeira to the exit. Luckily, the land under the bridge was wide as the bridge so the horse can get through.

When they reached the top of the bridge, behind them, they saw many crazy peoples with guns, “Rathomir, get on the horse quick!” Shouted Khyeira.

He gets on the horse, “Let’s go!” Shouted Kazuki.

“I’ll take care of them, you just focus on maneuvering the horse!” Said Khyeira.

They started firing their guns, and some of them chased the horse with their weapons. Khyeira fired her bow at them, she hitted one of the ones who were running, in the eye. While Kazuki focuses on maneuvering the horse to dodge the bullets. She fired again, but he dogded, and a bullet hitted her in the stomach. She puts pressure on the wound, then, she kicked one who was grabbing her leg, and shot him in the head. Some of the ones who were chasing them stopped because they’re tired. She hitted the one who was still chasing them, got shot in the leg. But, another bullet was fired, and hitted her in the left arm. They finally got away, the lands started to become green again after they rode the horse for some kilometers from the Dead Lands.

 They arrived back in the Torgovyn, Kazuki immediately takes Khyeira to a doctor, she keeps

the pressure on the wound with her hand. They arrived at the doctor, her wound was covered. But, the doctor said it would take time to recover. Kazuki remembered he had a potion, he asked the doctor what effects does it have, and the doctor said it’s a healing potion. He gave it to Khyeira and tells her to drink it. She felt the effects of the potion, she was feeling just a little bit better now. They went to the tailor shop and give the materials to Keineth. Finally, after a long tiring day, they went back to the inn and rest for another day.

The next and final day staying at Torgovyn, Kazuki and Khyeira both waked up at almost the same time. He looked at his watch clock, it was already 10 A.M. in the morning. In the end, Khyeira got 1100RL and Kazuki got a black female horse named Hiyami. Khyeira tells Kazuki to go pick up the suits from the tailor shop, she gave 500RLfor paying the suits. He goes to the shop,

“Hey Keineth, Are you done?” Asked Kazuki.

“Yes, it’s done my friend.” Answered Keineth.

“How much?” Asked Kazuki.

“Well, one suit is 250RL, and you buyed two suits. But, since you got the materials from the dangerous dead lands, I’ll give you a 40% discount.” Answered Keineth.

Kazuki payed the suits, and goes back to the inn. They tried the suits, and it was comfortable and it fits perfectly. They putted the suits in Kazuki’s backpack, Kazuki and Khyeira rode Hiyami, and went to a roadway that leads to The Iron Lands.
