The way he said seemed normal… like he had done this all his life… in torn old wet worn out clothes he lay down and slept like he were home… and in no time he fell asleep due to tiredness…

This was the daily life of this kid… fighting dogs over scraps of food, other street kids for food and shelter…

No one knows why he was on the streets at a young age… nor did anyone care…

In August , Namjoon’s grandpa (the Kim elder) died… this was the last straw to Namjoon’s already falling apart life… from dealing with hypocrites, greedy oldies who just wanted stuff that isn’t theirs… now to losing the only person he considered family…

This already strained and drained mental state and health couldn’t take it anymore… he started spiraling into depression but he still had to force himself to hold it together t protect the company… as it was the last thing that still kept him feeling connected to his grandpa and parents…

After his grandpa’s burial and entertaining the guests… he visited his parents graves… he carried his heart out…

After crying for a long time, it was getting dark so he had to go back home and prepare himself mentally and physical for the upcoming legal battle with his uncles about the inheritance…

As the night grew darker… Namjoon walked through the slum streets of Busan city to relax his mind….

Everything was fine until he saw a bunch of seven to ten teenage boys ganging up on a small boy beating him mercilessly… it’s not him habit/ nature to get involve in fights that don’t concern him especially at a time like this when he had his own fights… but something about the boy’s cries made him get involved…

Boy 1: mind your own business… *told him while glancing at him from his shoulder*

At sixteen just two weeks away from turning seventeen… he looked older than the boys by two or one year… and his tall muscular body, ice cold voice and the Angelou’s look in his eyes…. Made the boy scared to say anything…

Boy 4: *looked like he was the leader of the gang moved forward toward Namjoon*

boy 4: what are you going to do about it if we don’t leave rich boy… *snorted*

Boy 4: Just go back to your mother—- *before he could finish the sentence a hard punch landed square on his face*

The boy fell down with his nose bleeding and a broken tooth… the rest looked at him (N) in horror including the small boy who was being beaten…

Before he could complete his sentence… the gang had disappeared into the shadows like the darkness when the light comes…

The small boy stood up and thanked Namjoon quickly before he also disappeared like he was never there… before he (N) could ask or say anything to him…

He didn’t see his face due to the darkness of the alley and the position the boy was standing in…

Something about the way the kid called him hyung… made his mind and body relax and his heart almost skip a beat…

He walked out of the alley way and hail a cab home… but all his way home the boy’s words kept replaying in his mind… and the word “hyung” was magnified…
