Coming soon...
I'm Aurora, a 20-year-old college student, and I found myself standing in the grand hall of the museum, surrounded by ancient artifacts and mysterious relics. I was here for my project work, but my attention was drawn to a portrait that seemed to call to me.
The painting depicted a man placing his hand on a magnificent dragon. It was as if he was touching his own transformation. Below the portrait, a small, exquisite sapphire stone glimmered, its deep blue color radiating an otherworldly light. The stone's facets seemed to dance in the light, casting a hypnotic spell over me.
I felt an inexplicable pull, as if the sapphire stone was beckoning me to touch it. Without thinking, I reached out my hand, and as my fingers made contact with the stone, everything went dark.
When I came to, I found myself lying on the ground, but something was off. The air was crisp and clean, and the sky above was a deep shade of blue I had never seen before. As I struggled to sit up, I saw it. A magnificent dragon, with scales that shone like the sapphire stone, stood before me. Wait , what? "How...how is this possible?" I whispered to myself. "Dragons aren't real. Am I dreaming? Is this some kind of crazy hallucination?"
I pinched myself, hoping to wake up from this surreal dream. But the pain only made me wince, and the dragon remained, its piercing gaze fixed on me.
I stumbled to my feet, my eyes locked on the dragon. It didn't move, didn't flinch. It just kept watching me, as if waiting for me to understand something.
"But...but I was just in the museum," I stammered. "I saw a portrait, and then...and then I touched the sapphire stone. How did I get here?"
The dragon's expression didn't change, but I sensed a flicker of curiosity in its eyes. As if it was wondering what I was thinking, what I was feeling.
I took a tentative step forward, my heart pounding in my chest. "Are you...are you real?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
The dragon's response was a low, rumbling growl. It was a sound that vibrated through my entire body, leaving me feeling both terrified and thrilled.
My mind reeled as I stared at the dragon, my thoughts racing with questions. What was this place? How did I get here? And what did this dragon have to do with the portrait I saw in the museum?
As the dragon's growl faded away, I felt a strange sense of calm wash over me. It was as if the sound had resonated deep within my soul, awakening a part of me that I never knew existed.
I took another step forward, my eyes locked on the dragon's. "What do you want from me?" I asked, my voice steady.
The dragon's gaze seemed to bore into my very being, as if searching for something. And then, in a movement that was both graceful and powerful, it lowered its great head and nudged me gently with its snout.
I felt a jolt of surprise, but as I looked into the dragon's eyes, I saw something there that gave me pause. It was a deep wisdom, a knowing that seemed to transcend words.
Suddenly, I felt a vision flood my mind's eye - a vision of ancient lands, of dragons soaring the skies, of magic that flowed like the lifeblood of the earth.
The vision faded, leaving me breathless and bewildered. "What...what just happened?" I stammered.
The dragon's gaze never wavered. It was as if it knew that I had seen something profound, something that would change me forever.
And then, in a voice that was both ancient and ageless, the dragon spoke. "Remember," it said. "Remember who you are."
As I stood there, frozen in awe, the dragon's body began to shift and contort. Its scales dissolved into smooth, unblemished skin, and its wings disappeared into strong, muscular arms.
I stumbled backward, shocked and disbelieving, as the dragon transformed into a tall, handsome young man. His piercing blue eyes, the same ones that had seemed to see right through me, sparkled with warmth and kindness.
"Who...what are you?" I stuttered, trying to wrap my head around what I had just witnessed.
The young man smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "My name is Tharros," he said, his voice low and smooth. "And you, little one, are in grave danger."
Tharros grasped my arm, pulling me into a sprint. "Come on, we have to move!" he shouted, his eyes scanning the horizon.
I stumbled after him, my heart racing with fear. "What's going on?" I demanded, trying to keep up.
Tharros didn't answer, just kept running. We dodged trees and leapt over roots, the forest floor blurring beneath our feet.
Suddenly, Tharros skidded to a stop, his head cocked to one side. "Do you hear that?" he whispered.
I listened, and soon I picked up the sound of distant hoofbeats, growing louder by the second.
Tharros's eyes locked onto mine, a fierce determination burning within them. "We're out of time," he growled. "We have to get you out of here, now."
And with that, he swept me into his arms and leapt into the air, just as a group of black-clad riders burst into the clearing, their eyes fixed on me with an unnerving intensity.
As Tharros soared through the air, the riders shouting below us, I realized that my life was about to change forever.
But as we flew over the treetops, the wind whipping my hair into a frenzy, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being pulled into a world where nothing was as it seemed...
To be continued...
I clung to Tharros's neck as we soared through the air, the wind rushing past us in a deafening roar. I couldn't believe what was happening - one minute I was in a museum, and the next I was flying through the sky with a mysterious stranger.
As we flew over the treetops, Tharros suddenly banked and dived, swooping down towards a sparkling lake. I gasped as we skimmed the water's surface, sending spray flying in all directions.
Tharros finally set me down on a small wooden dock, where a beautiful wooden boat bobbed gently on the water.
"Welcome to my home," Tharros said, smiling, as he gestured to the boat.
I stared at him, still trying to wrap my head around what was happening. "Who are you?" I demanded. "And what's going on?"
Tharros's smile faltered, and he looked at me with a serious expression. "I'm here to protect you," he said. "You're in danger, Aurora. Great danger."
I felt a shiver run down my spine. "What kind of danger?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Tharros hesitated, as if unsure of how much to reveal. "You have a special gift," he said finally. "A gift that could change the course of history."
I stared at him, my mind reeling. "What gift?" I asked, my voice shaking with anticipation.
Tharros's eyes locked onto mine, burning with intensity. "You, Aurora, are a Dragonborn."
I felt like I'd been punched in the gut. "A Dragonborn?" I repeated, my voice barely above a whisper.
Tharros nodded. "You have the power to communicate with dragons," he said. "To control them, even."
I stumbled backward, my mind reeling with the implications. "That's impossible," I stammered.
Tharros's expression turned grim. "I'm afraid it's not," he said. "And there are those who will stop at nothing to claim your power for themselves."
I felt a chill run down my spine. "Who?" I demanded.
Tharros's eyes seemed to darken, as if shadows were gathering within them. "The Shadow Order," he said. "A secret society that seeks to control all magic in the world."
I swallowed hard, my heart racing with fear. "And they're after me?" I asked.
Tharros nodded. "You're the key to their plan," he said. "And I'm the only one who can protect you."
I looked at Tharros, feeling a sense of gratitude mixed with fear. What had I gotten myself into?
I took a deep breath, trying to process everything Tharros had just told me. "Okay, let's assume I believe you," I said, trying to sound calm. "What's the plan to keep me safe?"
Tharros nodded, a determined look on his face. "We need to get you to a place where the Shadow Order can't find you," he said. "A place where you can learn to control your powers and stay hidden."
I raised an eyebrow. "And where might that be?"
Tharros smiled, a hint of mischief in his eyes. "Somewhere only a few people know about," he said. "A secret island, hidden in the heart of a mystical forest."
I stared at him, incredulous. "A secret island?" I repeated. "You expect me to believe that?"
Tharros chuckled. "Believe it or not, it's our best chance of keeping you safe," he said. "And I promise you, it's real. I've been there myself."
I hesitated, unsure of what to do. Part of me wanted to trust Tharros, to believe that he was telling the truth. But another part of me was screaming to get away from him, to run as fast as I could and never look back.
As I stood there, weighing my options, Tharros reached out and took my hand. His touch sent a jolt of electricity through my body, and I felt a sudden surge of trust.
"Come with me," he said, his eyes burning with intensity. "I promise I'll keep you safe."
I took a deep breath, and nodded. "Okay," I said. "I'll come with you."
Tharros smiled, and squeezed my hand. "Good," he said. "Let's go."
And with that, we set off towards the secret island, leaving the world I knew behind.....
As we journeyed deeper into the mystical forest, I couldn't help but notice the way the trees seemed to lean in, as if listening to our conversation. Tharros walked with a confident stride, his eyes scanning the surroundings with a sense of familiarity.
"Tharros, who are you, really?" I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.
He turned to me, a hint of a smile on his lips. "I am Tharros, King of the Dragonborn," he said, his voice low and commanding.
I felt a jolt of surprise. "King?" I repeated. "You're a king?"
Tharros nodded, his eyes gleaming with a sense of pride. "I am the ruler of the Dragonborn, a ancient and noble line of magic-wielders," he said. "And I am sworn to protect our people, and our way of life."
I stared at him, my mind reeling with the implications. A king? I had stumbled into a whole different world, it seemed.
As we walked, the trees grew taller and the air grew thick with an otherworldly energy. I could feel the magic in the air, pulsing with a power that seemed to call to me.
Suddenly, Tharros stopped, his head cocked to one side. "Do you hear that?" he whispered.
I listened, and soon I picked up the sound of rushing water, growing louder by the second.
Tharros smiled, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "We're almost there," he said. "The secret island is just ahead."
I felt a thrill of anticipation, mixed with a sense of trepidation. What would we find on this mysterious island? And what lay ahead for me, now that I had stumbled into this strange new world?
