character 1
The Beginning of a New Life
The pain in my body is unbearable... I feel like someone is trying to kill me. I don't know what to do, but I can't die. My child, Anu, is waiting for me. I can't leave her now.
It's all his fault. If only I hadn't fallen for him... If only I had known better. I wish I could turn back time and never have loved him. But it's too late now. What's done is done. Still, why can't I forget him? Why am I thinking of the man who broke my trust, the one who promised everything and gave nothing?
And my child... Anu...
It all started two years ago...
Two Years Ago:
"Priya... get up! Priya!"
It was my mother, Mahalakshmi, yelling for over 20 minutes.
"Maa, five more minutes... please," I groaned, pulling the blanket over my head.
"Get up now, or I'll pour water on you!"
I rolled my eyes. She never let me sleep in peace.
I finally got up, knowing she wouldn't stop. "Amma, I'm telling Appa about you!" I yelled. "You're not letting me sleep!"
"Tell him all you want! I don't care. It's your first day at work today, and you're going to be late!"
I ran to get ready, trying to avoid the lecture that was sure to follow.
"Maa, I'm not giving you my salary if you keep this up!" I said, pretending I couldn't hear her.
My father, Mohan, sighed as he read his newspaper. "These two never stop fighting. If I get in between them, they'll blame me. It's better to just sit quietly and enjoy my morning."
"Appa, you're not even trying to solve their problems!" my sister Rani laughed.
"I just want some peace. Let me enjoy my time!" Appa replied, shaking his head. "I'm not getting involved in their fights."
"Don't call us devils, Mohan!" Mom shouted. "No sweets for you today!"
"Please, don't say that," he begged, looking at my mom like a lost puppy. "I'm your cute husband, right? Please don't take the sweets away!"
Rani smirked. "Appa, don't be sad. I'll give you my sweets."
"You will?" Appa smiled, finally winning Rani over. "You're my princess. Your mother ... doesn't care about me."
"Priya, don't listen to him. I was going to give you my sweets too, but now I'm not," I said, rolling my eyes.
"Just kidding!" Appa laughed. "You know you're my little princess."
I chuckled at my father's antics. He could be such a disaster when he was serious, but usually, he was the most relaxed guy. Except when it came to love. He was strict about that. He didn't trust this generation. He'd seen too many fake promises, too many broken hearts. And he was determined we wouldn't fall into that trap.
Ram Kumar's POV
It was 6 AM when my alarm rang. I got up, went for a jog, and then freshened up for work. I'm a police officer, and as soon as I arrived at the station, I got a call about an accident at the railway station.
When I got there, I saw a girl sitting on a bench, looking at the scene in front of her. She had long, frizzy hair, and she looked so delicate. I couldn't take my eyes off her. She wasn't just beautiful, but there was something about her that intrigued me.
As I stood observing, I noticed her staring back at me. For a second, I thought she was angry at me, but then I saw the curiosity in her eyes. She was... cute. And I couldn't help but think she had a fire in her.
Priya's POV
I was sitting there, confused by the commotion around me. I had no idea what was happening at the railway station. Then, I noticed a police officer staring at me. My heart raced. Why was he looking at me like that? Was he thinking I was a criminal?
I stared back at him, trying to figure out what he was thinking. For a moment, I thought he was handsome. But I quickly snapped myself out of it. No, Priya. Don't fall for a handsome face.
But, the way he looked at me, like he wanted to know me... it left me wondering.
Ram
She was looking at me like an angry little bird, and I couldn't help but smile. There was something about her that made me want to know more.
Priya's Thoughts:
What do I do? He’s nonstop staring at me…
And why is there such a crowd at this station? Usually, it’s busy, but today feels different.
And where is my train? It’s taking forever! I’m going to be late on my first day at work. Great start, Priya! Just great...
And then there’s this police officer—still looking at me. Doesn’t he have anything better to do?
Forget it, Priya. Ignore him.
But, ugh, I just want to pull out those eyes that won’t stop staring at me!
So what if he’s handsome? That doesn’t mean he gets a free pass to make me this uncomfortable!
Ram's Thoughts:
Control yourself, Ram! Why am I looking at her like that? I need to get a grip...
She doesn’t even seem to know what’s going on here. Should I tell her?
No… wait. How can I just walk up to her and talk?
Come on, Ram, you’re a police officer! Stop being so confused and awkward.
Alright, I’m just going to walk up to her and tell her the truth—no train is coming because of the accident. That’s it. Simple.
---
Priya's Thoughts:
Wait... why is he coming this way?
Panic hit me, and I got up quickly, pretending I needed to go in the opposite direction.
What does he want now?
Ram's Thoughts:
Did I scare her?
But honestly, she looks so cute trying to avoid me.
No, no, Ram! Focus. This isn’t the time to get distracted.
I need to let her know about the accident. Plus, I have to clear this crowd and figure out if it was an accident or a suicide.
Alright, first I’ll inform her and make sure she’s okay. Then, I’ll start the investigation.
Priya's Thoughts:
Why am I running away? This isn’t a police station, and I’ve done nothing wrong. Where would I even go?
Frustrated with myself, I walked back to my spot and sat down.
Enough is enough.
I turned around, looked directly at the police officer, and asked, "What do you want?"
Ram's Thoughts:
I was a little shocked when she came back, sat in the same spot, and asked me directly, "What do you want?"
Seriously? Did she just confront me like that?
I blinked for a moment, gathering my thoughts, and then told her calmly, "This is an accident site, and you need to leave this place immediately for your own safety."
But man, she really caught me off guard.
Priya's Thoughts:
What am I supposed to do to get out of this place? It’s my first day at work, and I’m already late. And now there’s an accident, so no trains! Oh god, what a terrible day!
---
Ram's Thoughts:
Wait, what does she mean, "It’s an accident"? Does she really not know what’s going on here?
Is she seriously asking if she should leave this place, like it’s up for debate?
I told her this is an accident site and that she needs to leave for her own safety. Isn’t that enough?
But now… now she looks furious. Why? What did I say wrong?
She’s glaring at me like I personally caused her bad day. This is going to be harder than I thought.
---
Priya's Response:
"I know, I know. I’m leaving, okay? I’m not sitting here staring at you like you’ve been staring at me!"
---
Ram's Thoughts:
Wait, what? Hello, madam. I wasn’t staring at you! Well… I was, but I can’t tell her that, right?
"I was just looking around because this is a crime scene in your city. Not because of your… beauty or something!"
---
Priya's Thoughts:
Excuse me? Did he just comment on my looks? I’m not a beauty? I know I’m not drop-dead gorgeous, but that doesn’t mean he can just say that to my face! I’m not ugly either!
She glared at him. And as for you, do you think you’re some kind of handsome hero? What an idiot!
Ram:
I couldn’t help but laugh at her reaction. She was mad, but honestly, it was kind of cute.
I’m the ACP of this city. People either respect me or are afraid of me. But her? She just confronted me like I was some random guy.
"Excuse me, ma’am, I was about to say something," I started, but before I could finish, my assistant called me.
I grabbed my phone quickly, hoping to get some clarity on the situation. The urgency of the call reminded me that I needed to focus.

Priya's Thoughts:
Finally, I reached the office! What a day already—missed the train, an accident, that annoying police officer, and now I’m late on my first day.
Taking a deep breath, I stepped into the building. It looked amazing—polished floors, glass walls, and everyone seemed busy.
As I was walking in, I overheard the manager talking to someone.
Office Manager:
“Today is the big day! Our new CEO is joining us. He just returned from abroad after finishing his studies.”
Random Employee:
“Really? What’s he like?”
Office Manager:
“He’s brilliant but... let’s just say, he’s not easy to work with. A real devil when it comes to discipline and results.”
Priya's Thoughts:
Oh, great. A devil boss on top of everything else. Could this day get any worse?
Priya's Thoughts:
As I was about to step into the office, I heard the sound of a car screeching to a halt outside. Curious, I turned around and saw a sleek black car.
A man stepped out, flanked by two bodyguards. His presence was commanding—tall, sharp features, and dressed in an expensive suit.
Priya (to herself):
"Is this the new CEO? Of course, it must be. Who else would arrive with bodyguards and such style? Looks like Mr. Devil Boss has finally arrived."
I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.
Priya's Thoughts:
"Why do these rich guys always have to make such a dramatic entrance? Let’s see if he’s as terrifying as the manager says."
With that, I turned back and walked inside, trying not to let curiosity get the better of me.
Priya walked to her desk and noticed her friend rushing in at the same time. She raised an eyebrow, smirking playfully
Priya:
"Hi, Anandhi! What’s this? The one person who’s never late has finally shown up late? What a miracle! Looks like it’s definitely going to rain today!"
Anandhi (grumbling):
"Shut up, Priya. I had to deal with insane traffic today, okay? I don’t know what’s going on, but it felt like the entire city was on the road at the same time."
Priya (teasing):
"Sure, sure. Blame the traffic. Just admit it—you hit snooze one too many times today!"
Anandhi (mock threatening):
"Say one more word and I’ll throw my bag at you!"
The two laughed as they settled into their seats, the tension of the morning starting to ease.
Just then, a low murmur spread across the office, catching their attention.
Priya (curious):
"Hey, why is everyone suddenly whispering like that? Did something happen?"
Anandhi (with a knowing look):
"Probably because our new CEO has arrived. You know, the one everyone’s been whispering about like he’s some kind of legend."
Priya:
"Oh, the so-called 'devil boss'? I wonder what all the fuss is about."
Both turned their gaze toward the entrance, eager to catch a glimpse of the person causing all this commotion.
Rohit Raj's Thoughts:
"So, this is the company my father was so proud of, huh? Not bad, but honestly, I’d rather be back in America, running my own office. At least there, things were under my control.
It’s not like my dad knows about the company I built from scratch. That’s why I’m stuck here, pretending to care about his legacy. Fine, I’ll play along—for now.
But what’s this nonsense? People whispering about me being some kind of devil? Seriously?
Wait… I know exactly who’s behind this. My so-called 'friend'—no, scratch that—my enemy. That idiot manager probably filled their heads with these stories. Ugh, he couldn’t resist running to his dad and painting me as a villain.
I swear, when I get my hands on him, I’m going to make him regret crossing me. But first, let’s see what this place has to offer."
Rohit adjusted his suit, his face calm but his mind plotting. As he stepped out of his car, his sharp eyes scanned the office entrance, ready to take charge—and settle old scores.
