The Space Auction

The Expedition to Solar System

Chapter-01: The Aliens on an Expedition

It is a normal day in the 61st century. In this era, most of the galaxies have grown lives and developed faster than Earth did. So, we can see a UFO flying in space. Let’s see what Mr. Cocoon (the auctioneer) and Mr. Leolo(planet researcher) are talking about:

Mr. Cocoon: We have reached the ‘Solar System.’ It is going to be the costliest planetary system ever. Because it has the most beautiful planets. Since there are only 200 planets that have life. We have arranged 20,000 planets for this auction.

Mr. Leolo: Mr. Cocoon, I had been thinking of asking you a question for a long time. May I ask it?

Mr. Cocoon: Yes, Mr. Leolo, just say it; you do not have to hesitate.

Mr. Leolo: So why are we looking for empty planets?

Mr. Cocoon: Well, it is because most of the universal wars of the past centuries have happened because of overpopulation and the need for places to live in. There have been at least 21 universal wars till now, though there are crores of planets in this universe that are suitable for living but are empty. So, we are arranging this auction to stop these universal wars from happening. In this auction, leaders of all planets are invited.

[Beep, beep]

Mr. Cocoon: We have reached the ‘Solar System.’.

Now. We can see Mr. Cocoon and Mr. Leolo are visiting the Solar System.

Chapter-02: Interest In Our Solar System

While Mr. Cocoon and Mr. Leolo are planning to host an auction to save the universe, humans are not advanced enough to crack any type of outer language. So, they thought there was going to be another universal war, and it is a warning about this. So, they hid themselves under the surface of Earth. As a result, when Mr. Cocoon and Mr. Leolo came in on Earth, they found it a lifeless planet. They started to check the Earth’s environment. Then, Mr. Leolo said, ‘”This planet’s environment seems like it had lives, but we cannot find any living beings or any kind of fossils. I have seen more than 50,000 planets, but this one seems suspicious. This planet has the most potential. If the buyer can make good use of it, he will get the most benefit. If you want my opinion, it should be the most valuable planet in the auction. So, how many planets are left to be analysed?” Mr. Cocoon replied,” There are 200 planets with life, since we have researched 19,995 planets, including this one, so we will examine 5 more.” After Earth, they went to Mars. Mr. Leolo was really impressed by seeing such a perfect planet like Mars. It took them around an hour to complete visiting the Solar System. One could see how happy they were after visiting this planetary system. In Mr. Leolo’s opinion, it was the most beautiful planetary system. On the other hand, in Mr. Cocoon’s opinion, he had seen the pictures of this planetary system before, but who knew it was such a beauty that not even the pictures could show its beauty properly. At the end, Mr. Cocoon and Mr. Leolo went back to their planet with excitement to do their necessary arrangements for the auction, which will be held in 2 days.

The Bidding

Chapter-3: The Great Cosmic Auction

At last, the day of the great cosmic auction came. Today, Mr. Cocoon is really very busy as he is collecting mini-globes of the 20,000 planets he has visited and selected for the auction before. These 20,000 planets do not have any kind of living beings except Earth. Yet, he had collected a mini-globe of Earth as well, as he did not know there lived humans. After collecting the mini-globes, he appeared at the auction. The auction is held in a large UFO. Though it was 2 hours before the auction’s start, the whole UFO was filled with the invited guests and their closed ones. Though it was not the first cosmic auction, it was the first cosmic auction where planets were going to be sold. In this auction, at least 1000 living beings were present, though only 201 of them were actual bidders; others were there to see the auction. The auction was arranged very beautifully. It had pictures of the universal wars on the wall. The auction had tight security since there was a chance of universal piracy. Around an hour before the auction’s estimated starting time, the bidders started to arrive. Once all the bidders, Mr. Cocoon and Mr. Leolo met, the auction started.

Chapter-4: Planets Going-Going-Gone!

At the start of the auction, each bidder was given a book filled with the information of each planet in the bidding. A planet’s price was decided with its environment, massiveness, resources, and potentiality. The bidding started with a planet as big as Jupiter but was very hot like Mercury and had hills like the Moon of Earth. It costed 11 octillions. The first bidder bid 11.5 octillions, and the second bidder said 12 octillions. Lastly, the first bidder won by saying 15 octillions. Then 19992 planets were sold. The last planetary system in bid was the Solar System. It was the costliest as well. The bidding happened in order: first Mercury, then Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and lastly Neptune. Mercury costed 60 octillions and sold at 2 nonillions. But, Venus was not as popular as Mercury; it costed 2 quintillion and sold at 5 quintillion. Earth, the third planet in the Solar System, was the costliest bidding price at 10 undecillions, but no bidder seemed interested in it. So, the bidding went to the next planets. After Earth came Mars; it was 17 decillion and sold at 20 undecillions. It was the most wanted planet in the Solar System, unlike Earth, which was the most unwanted one. After Mars came Jupiter, with the price of 10 decillions and sold at 5 undecillions, becoming the second most wanted planet. On the other hand, Saturn did not cost much, 84 quadrillion only, but sold at 54 quintillion. It was sold at such a high price because of its beauty, more likely for its rings. Then, Uranus and Neptune were sold with a very high price as well. After the bidding, in the Solar System, Earth was the only planet that was not sold out of 8 planets.

The Reluctant Bidder

Chapter-5: The Last One Left

After selling 19,999 planets, only one planet was left, and it was Earth. The main reason was its excessive price. Even though it was a historical planet with a lot of potential from the viewpoint of Mr. Cocoon and Mr. Leolo. However, it was good for nothing for the bidders. The reason behind this thought was the drought of Earth. Specifically, the level of drought on the surface of Earth was so great that bidders thought that there had been no rain, no living beings for ages, and a lifeless planet was anything but worthy to be bought. The Earth’s half-destroyed ozone layer was another important reason for them to think its rate was excessive. As a result, when Earth was kept in bid as the 19995th planet, no one was interested in buying it. Thus, after finishing the auction, 19999 planets out of 20000 planets were sold. In the end, Mr. Cocoon once again took Earth in bid with the price of 2 quadrillion.

Chapter-6: A Reluctant Bidder

Although the price of Earth was lowered, no bidder was interested in buying it. Mr. Cocoon was going to close the auction. Suddenly, a small little alien named Mr. Braxon bade 2.5 quadrillion. Everyone was shocked as someone had bid on a worthless planet. Since everyone had bought at least one planet, no one had bid back, and it was gone to Mr. Braxon who was a reluctant bidder himself. The main reason he came to the auction was because he was a businessman who wanted to build a universal amusement park. Since his planet was overpopulated, neither was there a place to build a universal amusement park, nor was the government would allow it. That was why he came to this auction. There was only one planet which had 2 bidders, it was named Yelxon; Mr. Braxon was from this planet. The other bidder from Yelxon was Mr. Yelnox. Mr. Yelnox was the head of Yelxon and brother of Mr. Braxon. He had bought more than 30 planets. Mr. Yelnox bought Jupiter and Mars. After Mr. Braxon had bought Earth, he was angry with him for wasting money on such a useless planet. Mr. Braxon, however, did not care and went visit Earth. Since the planets had been sold, Mr. Cocoon had closed the auction.

Chapter-07: Working things out

After buying Earth, Mr. Braxon went to see the condition of it and have an idea about how to make it a universal amusement park. When he came into the Solar System, he found out Earth, the droughty planet, has a faint ring. However, when he got closer, he came to understand that it was a ring made of trash instead of chunks of ice and rocks. One could see how disappointed he was. But he did not lose hope; he landed on Earth and made a virtual idea of how he was going to decorate the universal amusement park on Earth. Firstly, he thought of making the area of Asia a historical museum that would consist of the history of every planet and their civilizations. Then, he thought of making the area of Europe an amusement park that will have all the rides of the universe. Lastly, he thought of making Africa a zoo, which will consist of all the existing animals and information about the animals that existed before with their virtual image. He had a plan of making Antarctica a kid zone as well. It took him more than a week to plan how he was going to turn the Earth into his dreamland, the universal amusement park. He had so much stress thinking about the plan that he did not sleep for the whole week. As a result, he went back to Yelxon to take some rest for a few days.
