Alina: Papa, why are you calling me to Delhi so suddenly ? My college exams are near.

Papa (Karan Mehta): Alina, it's important. You have to come.

Scene 1: Aarish and Grandpa's Conversation
Location: Malhotra House, Aarish's room.
Time: Night time, Aarish is sitting alone in his room, thinking.
Just then his grandfather, Yashvardhan Malhotra, enters the room.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Grandpa: Aarish, I want to talk to you for a minute.

Aarish (a little irritated): Yes Grandpa, what happened?
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Grandpa: Sit down, I want to talk to you about something important.

Aarish (sitting down): What's the matter?

Scene 1: Aarish finishes shooting in Mumbai
Location: Film set.
Aarish is giving his last shot. His face is serious and expressionless, but fatigue and confusion are clearly visible in his eyes.
Director: And… Cut! Brilliant, Aarish. Perfect as always. 👏

Aarish walks out of the set wearing his coat. His assistant, Sameer, is standing outside waiting.

Scene 2: Waiting for Grandpa in Delhi
Location: Malhotra family's private bungalow.
Grandpa, Yashvardhan Malhotra, is sitting in the living room of the bungalow. There is a worried expression on his face. The staff serves him tea.
Aarish's car stops outside the bungalow. He gets out of the car and goes straight inside. His gait is fast and anger is clearly visible on his face.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (to himself): Aarish has to understand. All this is for his own good.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (looking at Aarish): Finally, you have come.

Aarish (strictly): I promised that I will come. Tell me, what else is left to do now?
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (smiling): Sit down first. Why are you in such a hurry?
Aarish does not sit, he keeps standing. Aarish: You know I want to stay away from all this.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (in a serious tone): And I know you don't have the time to take responsibility of this family. The time you asked for is over.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (slowly): You didn't have the time. And this girl is right for you.
Yashvardhan picks up a photo and hands it to Aarish.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan: Look at this.

Aarish (raising his hand): No. I don't want to see anything.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (patiently): This is not just a question of your life, this is a question of the respect and relations of the whole family. Mehta family is our old friends.

Aarish: So this marriage is a business deal?
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (hurt): This is our tradition. If your mother was alive today, she would have wanted this.
Aarish falls silent. There is a deep silence between the two for a few moments.
arish malhotra
Aarish (softly): I am accepting this as my duty. But don't expect happiness from me.
Yashvardhan Malhotra,
Yashvardhan (smiling): Happiness will come on its own. You will see.
Location: Backyard of the bungalow.
Aarish is standing near the window, looking outside into the darkness. Sameer comes slowly, holding a glass of water in his hand.
sameer varma
Sameer (scared): Sir, your water.
arish malhotra
Aarish (without looking at him): Keep it.
Sameer keeps the water and stands for a few moments, but then starts leaving.
arish malhotra
Aarish (suddenly): You must have heard. Grandfather arranged my marriage.
sameer varma
Sameer (softly): Yes Sir.
arish malhotra
Aarish (in a serious tone): What do you think?
sameer varma
Sameer (stuttering): Sir, I... what should I say?
arish malhotra
Aarish: Truth
sameer varma
Sameer (scared): Sir, maybe Dadaji is right. It might be important for the family.
arish malhotra
Aarish (taking a deep breath): Everyone is only worried about the family. Not me.
