...Shadows of Restraint...
The sleek black car roared through the empty streets, slicing through the quiet of the night. Seraphina sat in the driver’s seat, her face calm yet unreadable. Beside her, Aria hummed a cheerful tune, while Vesper in the backseat lazily spun a knife between her fingers, her grin promising mischief.
As they approached a crossroads, a gang of thugs on motorcycles blocked their path, their engines growling like predators circling prey. Seraphina smoothly brought the car to a stop, her sharp eyes scanning the scene.
“Trouble,” Aria muttered, her cheerful tone dimming slightly.
Seraphina’s cold voice broke the silence. “Handle it. No killing.”
Aria sighed, smiling lightly. “Fine, no killing.”
Vesper snickered. “Didn’t say no breaking bones.”
---
...A Bloody Warning...
Aria and Vesper stepped out of the car, their presence immediately drawing the gang’s attention. The leader, a muscular man with a scar running down his cheek, approached them, his smirk as slimy as his words.
“Well, well,” he sneered. “What do we have here? A couple of pretty little things. How about you ditch the car and entertain us instead?”
Vesper rolled her eyes, flicking her knife into the air. “That’s original.”
Aria held up a hand to stop her, trying to keep the peace. “Listen, boys. We’re in a hurry. How about you step aside, and we’ll pretend this didn’t happen?”
The leader ignored her, his leering gaze landing on Aria. He grabbed her wrist, his grin widening. “Why don’t you come a little closer?”
In a flash, Vesper’s knife embedded itself in the leader’s hand. He screamed, releasing Aria, and stumbled back, clutching his bleeding palm.
“You should’ve listened,” Vesper said, her voice dripping with venom.
The gang erupted into chaos, drawing weapons and charging. Aria sighed, shaking her head as she sidestepped a swing. “Guess we’re doing this the hard way.”

...Seraphina Joins the Fight...
From the car, Seraphina watched silently as the fight unfolded. Aria moved with precision, disarming and incapacitating her attackers without killing them, her smile never fading. Vesper, on the other hand, was a whirlwind of chaos, her movements brutal and efficient.
But when one of the thugs pulled a gun and fired, hitting Vesper in the leg, Seraphina stepped out of the car.
Her presence alone was enough to make the remaining thugs hesitate. She moved like a ghost, closing the distance to the leader in seconds. Before he could react, she delivered a single, devastating kick to his chest, sending him crashing to the ground. She picked up his fallen gun and aimed it at the rest of the gang.
The thugs froze, their bravado shattered. “Leave,” Seraphina said, her voice calm but lethal.
They didn’t need to be told twice. Scrambling to pick up their wounded, they fled into the night, leaving behind their weapons and shattered pride.

...Aftermath...
Seraphina turned back to Aria and Vesper. Aria was unscathed, though her usual cheerfulness was tempered by concern. Vesper leaned against the car, grinning through the pain in her leg.
“You took your time,” Vesper teased, her voice strained but amused.
Seraphina didn’t respond. She crouched down, tearing a strip from her jacket to bind Vesper’s wound.
“Let’s go,” Seraphina said simply, standing up and heading back to the driver’s seat.
As they climbed into the car, Aria glanced at Vesper, her tone light. “Well, that escalated quickly.”
Vesper smirked. “Best part of the night.”
Seraphina said nothing as she started the engine, her cold silence louder than words. None of them doubted one thing: anyone who dared to cross them again would pay a far heavier price.
The mansion loomed large against the night sky, its shadowy silhouette a testament to the power and wealth of the three mafia queens who called it home. The sleek car pulled up to the grand entrance, and the three women stepped out. Vesper was limping slightly, her leg still aching from the earlier gunshot, but her mischievous grin remained intact.
As they entered the main hall, Seraphina’s icy gaze turned to Vesper. “Control yourself next time,” she said, her tone as cold as steel.
Vesper rolled her eyes but nodded. “Yeah, yeah. Next time, I’ll let them kiss Aria instead. Happy?”
Aria smirked, throwing an arm around Vesper’s shoulder. “Oh, don’t worry, Ves. You saved me. Again.”
Seraphina didn’t respond, already turning to head upstairs. “I’m taking a bath. Handle anything else that comes up.”

...The Call from Grandfather...
As Seraphina disappeared into the master suite, her phone buzzed on the table. Aria picked it up, glancing at the screen. The name Grandfather flashed across it.
“It’s him,” Aria said, her tone light but curious.
Vesper, sprawled on the couch, raised an eyebrow. “What does he want now? More bodies to deal with?”
Aria shrugged and answered the call. “Hello, Grandfather. Sera’s... unavailable at the moment.”
The deep, authoritative voice on the other end wasted no time. “Tell Seraphina that the three of you will start college tomorrow. Your primary task is to find your fiancés and protect them. They’ve been targeted, and we cannot afford any mistakes.”
Aria blinked, her usual cheerfulness giving way to surprise. “College? Fiancés? You’re kidding, right?”
“This is no joke, Aria,” Grandfather replied sharply. “You will ensure their safety at all costs. Tell Seraphina immediately.”
The call ended, leaving Aria staring at the phone in disbelief.
“Well, that’s new,” she muttered.
Vesper sat up, her grin widening. “Fiancés, huh? This could be fun. Or bloody. Either way, I’m in.”
Aria laughed, shaking her head. “You’re impossible.”

...Seraphina’s Return...
By the time Seraphina emerged from her bath, her hair damp and her expression as stoic as ever, Aria was waiting for her with a sheepish smile.
“We got a call,” Aria began, holding out the phone. “From Grandfather. He said we’re starting college tomorrow. Apparently, we’ve got fiancés, and they need protecting.”
Seraphina raised an eyebrow but said nothing, taking the phone from Aria.
“What’s the plan, Sera?” Vesper asked, her tone laced with anticipation.
Seraphina’s eyes narrowed as she processed the information. Finally, she spoke, her voice calm but firm. “We’ll go. But don’t forget—our priority is to eliminate threats. Not create more.”
Vesper smirked. “No promises.”
Aria grinned. “This is going to be interesting.”
Seraphina said nothing, already calculating their next moves. College was just another battlefield, and she intended to win.

...Confrontation with Grandfather...
The following morning, Seraphina’s expression was colder than usual as she dialed her grandfather’s number. Aria and Vesper exchanged glances from across the breakfast table, knowing something was about to go down.
The call connected, and the old man’s deep voice rumbled through the line. “Seraphina. I trust Aria informed you of the mission?”
“Grandfather,” Seraphina said, her tone sharp enough to cut through steel. “You sent us to college without warning and expect us to protect three strangers you’ve decided are our fiancés. Explain. Now.”
There was a moment of silence on the other end before her grandfather cleared his throat. “It’s for the family’s future, Seraphina. These alliances are crucial. Each of these young men belongs to powerful families we need on our side. Their safety is our responsibility—your responsibility.”
Seraphina’s grip on the phone tightened. “You made a decision without consulting me. You’re lucky I’m even entertaining this conversation. What makes you think I’ll follow through?”
Her grandfather hesitated. Despite his authority, he knew better than to underestimate his granddaughter’s wrath. “You’re the best, Seraphina. If anyone can protect them and secure our family’s position, it’s you.”
“And if I don’t like them?” she asked, her voice icy.
“Then you don’t have to marry them,” he said quickly, his confidence faltering. “Just... protect them. That’s all I’m asking.”
---
...The Ultimatum...
Seraphina leaned back in her chair, her voice calm but loaded with menace. “This is the last time you make decisions for me without asking, Grandfather. If these fiancés prove to be liabilities or disrespect my family, they’ll wish the thugs from last night got to them instead. Are we clear?”
On the other end, her grandfather swallowed hard, his commanding demeanor cracking under the weight of her words. “Crystal clear, Seraphina.”
She ended the call without another word, tossing the phone onto the table.

Aria and Vesper’s Reaction
Aria, who had been sipping her coffee, raised an eyebrow. “Well, that sounded intense.”
Vesper chuckled, clearly amused. “Old man must’ve been shaking in his boots. What now, Sera?”
Seraphina stood, her commanding aura filling the room. “We’ll go to college, evaluate these fiancés, and deal with any threats. If Grandfather’s little scheme jeopardizes us, I’ll handle it personally.”
Aria grinned, her cheerful energy returning. “Protecting boys at college? This is going to be hilarious.”
Vesper twirled her knife, smirking. “And bloody, if I have any say.”
Seraphina’s expression didn’t waver as she walked away. This wasn’t about protecting fiancés or family politics—it was about control. And Seraphina never let anyone else take the reins.
