Moonlight's Embrace

Chapter 1

A long time ago, there was a place known as Nanjing Mountain, a hilly region where farming was scarce. The land was poor, and the people suffered greatly. There was widespread poverty, with many dying from hunger. The people were in distress everywhere — there was no food, no money, and no rain. Those who had a little money managed to survive, but it was only temporary. The chief of this place was cruel and selfish, caring only for his own well-being and ignoring the suffering of his people.

In the midst of this despair, a kind-hearted god took notice. Unable to bear the suffering any longer, he descended to the earth. He helped many people, providing them with food and offering prayers for rain. In just a few days, the situation began to improve. While helping others, the god wandered through the village and came across a little girl, no more than six or seven years old. She was begging for food, wearing ragged, soiled clothes. People avoided her because of her dirty appearance, and no one showed her any kindness.

Wen Shia, the god, was deeply moved by her plight. Without hesitation, he rushed to her side, extending his hand with food, sweets, and some money. The girl gratefully accepted his offering, her soft voice echoing in the air as she said, "Thank you, thank you for giving me food." She called after him, her words carrying a promise, "I will repay you for this kindness."

Wen Shia paused and turned to look at her. A small, poor child like her had made such a promise. He smiled warmly at her but said nothing, continuing on his way.

The girl ate the food with relief. She continued to live on the streets, sometimes receiving help from kind strangers. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Over time, the situation improved dramatically. The poverty that had once plagued the people was no more, and the tyrannical king had been removed from power. The people began to help one another, shedding the selfishness of the past. There was no longer as much disparity between the rich and the poor. Those who had wealth now shared it, and the poor were no longer looked down upon.

A couple of years passed. The girl, Jiang, continued to live on the streets, earning what she could by working odd jobs. One day, while cleaning dishes at a small tea shop, a man noticed her. His heart went out to her, and he approached her with compassion.

"Little one, what is your name?" he asked kindly.

The girl smiled, though her face was covered in dirt. Her eyes, however, sparkled with a quiet beauty. "My name is Jiang," she replied softly.

The man smiled in return. "I am Li Yunzi. Tell me, Jiang, do you have a family?"

Jiang's face fell, and her voice grew sad. "I have no family. I am an orphan."

Li Yunzi's heart ached for her. "Where do you live, then?" he asked.

"I live here, on the streets," Jiang said quietly, her head bowed.

Li Yunzi, moved by her situation, looked at her with deep sympathy. "I want to adopt you," he said gently. "Would you like to become part of my family? Would you be my daughter?"

Chapter 2

Xiang agreed and said, "Okay, but why do you want to adopt me?"

Li Yunzi smiled warmly and replied, "Because I don't have a daughter. My wife is very lonely, and she has always wished for one. That's why I like you so much. You are so adorable, and your kindness shines through. That's why I want to adopt you."

Hearing this, Xiang smiled. It was the first time someone had praised her. She said hesitantly, "But I'm very dirty... people always run away from me."

Li Yunzi shook his head gently and said, "Not to us. Come with me."

He took Xiang to his home. His house was enormous, with tall gates and a beautiful garden. When they entered, he called out to his wife, "Look! I've brought you a gift!"

His wife, Li Huan, came out and saw Xiang. Her face lit up with joy. They welcomed Xiang warmly and officially adopted her, giving her the name Li Xiang.

Li Huan was overjoyed. She showered her new daughter with love and care, treating her as though she had been part of their family forever. At first, Xiang felt awkward in the grand palace. It was a world so different from the streets she had known. But slowly, she began to adjust.

However, not everyone was kind. Some people in the palace would make fun of her past. Seeing this, Li Huan decided Xiang needed guidance. She thought to herself, She should have a master who can teach her and help her grow. And so, Li Huan began searching for a teacher for Xiang.

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Wen Shia stood in the middle of a beautiful garden, lost in thought. Suddenly, a man approached him and said, "The Heavenly God has summoned you."

Without hesitation, Wen Shia turned and went to meet the Heavenly God. He bowed and asked, "Why have you called me, Heavenly God?"

The Heavenly God looked at him and said, "I have an important mission for you. You must go to Earth to find the Element Stone. It is a powerful, multi-colored stone that holds immense energy. No one else must know of its existence. This task is yours alone."

Wen Shia frowned slightly and asked, "Where is this stone on Earth?"

The Heavenly God replied, "That is what you must discover. The previous Heavenly God hid it well to ensure it would not fall into the wrong hands. You must find it and keep it safe. Do not return until your mission is complete."

Wen Shia nodded. "I understand. I will leave at once."

The next day, Wen Shia descended to Earth and arrived at the Nanjing Mountains. His first task was to find a place to stay. While searching, he encountered Li Yunzi, who asked, "What brings you here? Are you looking for something?"

Wen Shia asked cautiously, "How do you know me?"

Li Yunzi smiled and replied, "Who wouldn't recognize you? You're the god who once helped people when no one else would. Tell me, how can I assist you?"

Wen Shia said, "I need a place to live."

Li Yunzi gestured toward a house nearby. "There's a house right next to mine. You can stay there."

Grateful, Wen Shia moved in.

One day, while Wen Shia practiced his skills atop a hill, Xiang spotted him from afar. He was dressed in pristine white robes that fluttered in the wind, and he held a beautiful fan in his hand. His movements were graceful and precise, as though he were painting the air with his skills. The fan flew from his hand, marking the air before returning to him effortlessly.

Xiang couldn't take her eyes off him. To her, he seemed like a celestial being. She mustered her courage and ran up to him.

"Will you make me your student?" she asked eagerly. "I want to learn cultivation and swordsmanship!" Her eyes sparkled as they lingered on the elegant sword at his side.

Wen Shia looked at her and immediately refused. "No, I'm not going to teach anyone."

"Please!" Xiang pleaded. She dropped to her knees, clasping her hands together. "Please take me as your student!"

But Wen Shia remained firm. "No," he said, his voice final.

Chapter 3

She knelt down in Xiang and said, "Make me your student, I will never disappoint you, I will do everything with all my heart, I want to learn cultivation." But she flatly refused, which made her angry. And she returned to her home. When she reached home she was very sad. Madam Li asked her what happened to her. She said, today I have found a teacher for myself. If he agrees, then I would like to learn from him but he refused. She did not tell him his name because she herself did not know his name. She just said that he is a very tall and handsome man who seems like a god descended from the sky. She did not know that he was actually a god. He praised her a lot and said that she had a thin face and fair hair which was two meters long.

She had eyes like a phoenix and a very thin nose. The one whose neck was like a swan was wearing white coloured clothes and his clothes had silk work on them. He had a fan in his hand which was very beautiful and its design was very unique. He also had a sword with a stone on its handle which was blue in colour. Madam Li started laughing after hearing this. She said this is the first time you have met him.

Xiang said, yes, I have met him for the first time. Madam Li said, you seem to have observed him very carefully, that is why you have talked about him so much. Madam Li said, I know where he lives. Hearing this Xiang became very happy and asked where he lived. Madam Li said that he lives near our house and knows your father very well. Hearing this Xiang immediately ran out and went to his house. There was no one there but the door was open, she opened the door and went inside and after going there she cleaned his pot very well and his things very well and was going to cook a nice dish for him. But she didn't know how to cook much and didn't know what she liked so she became a little sad but didn't give up when she saw that Wen Shia was home. When he saw his house open, he was very surprised and when he came inside and saw cleanliness everywhere, he started wondering who had come here and he started looking here and there, then his eyes fell on a girl hiding there. She said why have you come here Xiang started smiling and showing her teeth. I just wanted to do some service for my master And I wanted to make something nice for him but I was not able to understand what he liked. He said I am not your teacher, his voice was very harsh. Due to which she was caught once but she did not give up and said please accept me as your disciple this disciple will do anything for you. Hearing this Wen Shia became even more angry. He angrily asked how did you know my house Xiang started smiling and said that my father knew your house. As soon as I told my mother, she told me about your house. It turned out to be true, she told me the address of your house. She said that she was Li Yunzi's daughter. He was surprised and asked, "Are you his daughter?" Xiang asked, "Do you know my father?" He said, "Yes, I do, but because of that, I am not making you my disciple."And he did not continue the conversation and said that you can go from here but the girl did not give up, she went to the kitchen and made something for him which she knew how to make, she knew how to make She would make noodle soup and place it on his table and quietly go away. She too did not talk much. In the same way she would come everyday, cook food for him, clean the house and also clean a little outside and would take care of every detail of his. He was slowly getting used to it and time passed like this, one month passed. You did not ask him to become a disciple, you just served him.
