I had a very abusive step mother. However she was only abusive to me and not my sister.

She would only do or say things when it was just us. I wasn't a bad child.

I kept good grades, did what chores were asked of me, I even got up early for school so I could wake up my brothers and make sure they were up and ready in time for the bus.

When I was old enough I got a full time job and every payday I would hand it to my dad to help with expenses.

So her abuse was unnecessary. She would often whip me for things that I “did”.

It eventually led to her hitting me in the face. The only time she ever “liked” me was when she needed me to keep secrets for her. I never told my dad how bad it was. I didn't need to.

He eventually seen it himself. She would ask my dad to whip me with a belt. Just to make her happy he would take me in my room, start hitting the bed with the belt and tell me to cry. Instead of doing that he should have stood up to her.

My step mother was a true narcissist. She was manipulative and by far the best liar I have ever known. There's so much more to what she did but I don't have enough space to tell it. The only way the abuse stopped for me was when I got big enough to start fighting back. I had to literally fight her.

My dad witnessed it several times and would always take her side. I ended up homeless at a very young age. I turned to drugs as a way of an escape. I gave her what she wanted. It took me several years to finally understand what her issue was.

She wanted me away from my dad. If he showed me the slightest bit of attention or affection that's when the abuse would start. She saw me as a threat. That's why my sister were always golden to her. Once we were grown and doing our own thing they would all take vacations together without me even knowing about them, she would have holiday meals and I would never be invited. It hurt me so much because my dad would allow her to be this way.
