Eliz felt a pang of anger and humiliation at Lilith's words, but held her tongue. She knew that getting into a fight with the Duke's daughter would only cause her more trouble.

Lilith scoffed at Eliz's response, her expression even more disdainful than before.

Eliz clenched her fists, feeling a wave of frustration rise up. She knew the Duke's daughter was being deliberately condescending, and it was getting harder and harder to keep her cool.

she walked through the grand gates of the Arcane Academy, relieved to be away from the prying eyes of the other students

The girl sighed in resignation as she continued to walk through the grand halls of the Arcane Academy just a few moments earlier she had been excited to attend the opening ceremony but now who would expect she'll get lost
And what's more the signs were practically useless and there wasn't a single person in sight who could point her in the right direction
As Eliz turned the corner she suddenly stopped in her tracks
A beautiful garden came into view with lush greenery and colorful flowers filling the air with a sweet fragrance tall trees cast shadows over the space creating a cool and peaceful atmosphere
However that wasn't what captured Eliz's attention
In the middle of the garden a woman was lying on her side sleeping peacefully on the grass

How can she just lie around in the grass like that when I'm stuck here trying to find my way around this damn academy?!
Eliz
If she wasn't sleeping here, I wouldn't have gotten distracted and ended up here.
As eliz muttered to herself the woman stirred from her sleep she sat up and rubbed her eyes looking around in confusion before spotting Eliz standing nearby

The woman asked, her voice curious and slightly groggy from sleep
Her face heat up as the woman looked at her

I-I was just... talking to myself sorry for waking you up
The woman chuckled seeming amused by Eliz's embarrassed demeanor

She exclaimed her expression turning to one of panic
The woman asked her tone now concerned

The woman couldn't help but find Eliz's panicked reaction hilarious she tried her best to suppress a smile but a small chuckle escaped her lips

Eliz quickly thanked the woman her mind still filled with panic about the ceremony

With that she dashed off in a hurry leaving the laughing woman behind in the garden
