Rune’s hold on Xheliather’s waist tightened ever so slightly as he whispered, “Shall we?” She nodded, her eyes shining with a blend of excitement and trust as they moved further into the room.

Misfortune?
The school bell rang in Saebom High as the students went to their respective classes.
Meanwhile, on the rooftop, there was a group of students bullying a guy.

"Did you finish it?" asked a guy with a scar on the left side of his neck.

"Ye-yes..." the trembling guy replied, pulling a notebook out of his bag and handing it over.

"Atta boy!" the scarred guy laughed, patting the poor guy's back. "Look, Cage! We got it. Haha!" he said.

"Well done," Cage said, blowing out a puff of cigarette smoke as he walked towards them.
A few minutes later, they went back inside the classroom.
Teacher
"Pass all your assignments to Chunza," the teacher instructed.
The students handed in their assignments, and Cage went back to sleep.
Suddenly, Cage sensed someone turning the lights on and off. When he opened his eyes, a ray of sunlight reflected off a girl beside him as she played with her shadow. The sun kissed her cheeks, and her smile radiated warmth.

"Hey!" Cage said irritably. "Didn't you see someone was sleeping?"

"This is a classroom, not your bedroom," the girl retorted.
Teacher
"What's going on there?" the teacher asked.

"Oh, I just asked him about the assignment," the girl replied.
Teacher
"And what did Mr. D'iormundo say?" the teacher asked.
Teacher
"I read your assignment earlier, Mr. D'iormundo. Copying someone's work? I wouldn’t mind if you were subtle, but you made it obvious by copying the entire thing, including the name," the teacher scolded.
Cage gave his friends a deadly side-eye, then turned to the teacher with a calm smile.

"So, I’m going to the detention room, right?" he asked.
The teacher nodded, and Cage stood up and left.
On his way to the detention room, Cage felt like someone was following him.
When he opened the detention room door, Mr. Hael, the person in charge, wasn’t there. Cage simply sat down and fell asleep.
He didn’t realize it was already late at night. Waking up, he felt a cold breeze and noticed his bag was missing.

"Huh? The hell?" he muttered.
Looking around, he spotted muddy footprints leading down the hallway to the last floor near his locker.
Out of curiosity, he opened his locker and found a letter that read "Misfortune," with a cute drawing in the corner of the paper.

"Really?" Cage chuckled at the drawing. "I’ll admit I got scared, but... cute."
Witch?
In a small town not far from Saebom High, Verlia came home late and noticed a group of random people outside her house.

She ran toward them, finding her family surrounded. Standing protectively in front of them, she shouted, "Hey! What’s going on here?"

"Ma, what happened?" she asked her mother.

"This! This is the family I’ve been telling you about! Ever since they moved here, misfortune has plagued our neighborhood," an angry woman yelled.

"Do you hear yourself?" Verlia retorted. "This small town of yours already had plenty of misfortunes before we arrived. We moved here because the houses were cheap, and now you’re accusing us of being witches? Ridiculous!"
The crowd murmured and began dispersing. Suddenly, the angry woman threw a bottle at Verlia, hitting her arm.
The woman ran to her house as Verlia held her family back, urging them to go inside.

"Are you alright?" her mom asked.
Verlia Eirene Sillviano
"Yes, Mom, don’t worry. Go to bed," Verlia replied, closing the door.
Her phone rang—it was her friend Aira.

"Hey, Aira. What made you call so late?" Verlia asked.

"Lance texted me!!!!" Aira squealed.

"Oh... really? What did he say?" Verlia asked, amused.

"Wait, I’ll call Xhel!" Aira said excitedly.
Five seconds later, Xhel joined the call.

"What?" Xhel groaned.

"Lance texted Aira, and she’s over the moon," Verlia explained.
Xheliather Aynur Deon
"Tsk. Delusional. I’ve told you many times, Ai. He’s just messing with you because he knows you like him," Xhel said.

"Tsk. Xhel, you’re just jealous that my crush texted me," Aira replied.

"And yet he doesn’t like you back. Poor you," Xhel teased.

Verlia laughed. "Aira’s delusional and didn’t get her crush back."

"Hey, you two! Just support me!" Aira whined.

Meanwhile, Xhel overheard her parents talking downstairs, along with the sound of a woman crying.

"Guys, I’ve got some ‘tea’ here," Xhel whispered.

"What? Really? Spill it!" Aira urged.

"No, go investigate and spill the tea tomorrow," Verlia suggested.

"Aight! I’m on it because the tea is cooking," Xhel said, ending the call.
