Chapter 1

It's Yuki's first day at his new school after getting a transfer from his old one. He hopes to lead a peaceful academic year for the next few years. He was transferred from his old school in the name of bullying, or more like being a bullying victim. In his old school, due to his timid nature Yuki was the main target for bullying. Most of his bullies were the sons and daughters of rich businessmen and mayors, and as for him, he was an orphan, currently living with his relatives who secretly despised him for being a burden. In the end he was the one who changed schools for his safety and he hopes for a better life in his new school. Yuki was an introverted, innocent boy who didn't knew much for his age. He barely made any friends in his old school, but he wishes to make one this time.

As he walked into the main gates of the school, he realised how big it actually was. Taking a few deep breaths he stepped inside. His eyes wandered around the place, he saw many kids, some going in, some coming out, the basketball guys, the school president team and many others. The school was a private institute for the kids of parents living in the high class society. Yuki had government support for his education so it was easy for him to enroll in this school. Just as he entered the corridors, he started looking for the principal's office for further registration, ignoring all the curious gazes upon him, Yuki continues to walk. Suddenly, the school bell rang and large mass of students started appearing in the corridor. The way was thickened with kids, that he almost squeezed himself between them. Later on, when he was almost at the door to the office a guy crashed upon him and the cola in that guy's hand spilled over Yuki. Yuki fell onto the ground due to the force and the other guy, annoyed because his drink was spilled, said : " watch where you're going kid. Are you new here!? ". Yuki, regardless stood up quickly and apologised to him "i-im sorry.. " "hmph" said the guy in reply and walked away from him, without looking back or apologising.

Yuki just stood there hoping the guy won't hold any grudge against him, even though he did nothing. He then went into the principal's office and fortunately the principal wasn't there at the moment, or he would have got scolded for dirty uniform. Making his way back to his assigned class, ( he had changed his uniform shirt into the new he got today ) the bell for lunch had rung. Yuki decided to have lunch in the cafeteria in hopes of making a friend. In the cafeteria he saw numerous gangs of teenagers hanging with themselves. There he saw the guy from earlier in one the gang.

Yuki and him made eye contact for a second but Yuki turned away quickly as to not provoke him. He walked into the queue for getting the food, but the second he turned away, the guy and his friends starts talking,

"Kaede, is that the one you told us about?" Haru, his friend asked him. Yes so this is the so called kaede Hatsumi, one of the popular guys of the school, his father's company owns the school literally*. He and his friends are all rich and live everyday in the most entertaining way as possible. "Sure looks innocent!" chuckles osamu, kaede's another friend. "Nah he is pretty" "pretty disgusting!" comments momo. Momo is the prettiest girl in the school, half of the male population likes her but she (ofc) likes kaede. But kaede has never shown any interest in her. "Hey that's too rude man" laughs osamu "nah, just look at his appearance! He surely looks like the one who comes from a slug" momo continued. Haru ignoring them all, asks kaede "are you eating lunch from here today?" Kaede who's eyes never leaving Yuki replied "yes why not! Let's eat with our little friend today" From the direction kaede was looking haru understood whom he meant but osamu, asked "what , whoo? Is itt??! Wait, don't tell-" before he could finish, momo interjected "kaedeee are you seriously going to sit with that rag?? Why not come with me for a whileee?? We could talk a bit! And what's so good about that homeless-" "that's enough momo! If you're not interested then don't come with us" kaede said in a stern voice. Just when he was about leave he saw Mie walking towards Yuki's table. She was pretty, with long black hair and blue gems for eyes. She was beautiful and unlike momo she had a sweet personality. Kaede had a huge crush on mie from the beginning of the semester and almost everyone except mie knew it. Yuki was sitting alone on his table when he saw Mie approaching him, he got a bit nervous watching her coming towards him as he knew no one here. "can I sit here?" mie asked, "u-uh yeah! Sure !" he answered. "thanks" mie giggles and sits next to him at the table.

"So.. whats your name ? Are you new here?" She asks him "i-im Yuki.. Yuki Euisuke " he replied. "Yuki!? That's a sweet name" she smiles "I'm mieko mitsuo but you can call me mie, nice to meet you :D" she said. "Nice to.. meet you too mie :)" he said. They then continued to talk about various things, mie asked him about his old school and his house and many other things. Yuki though timidly, gave answers to her questions and just nodded his head or made "hmm" sounds when she was talking about herself and her life in the school. 'she seems like a nice person... Maybe I can be friends with her.. but won't she gets tired of me someday...ahh let's not think about it much' thoughts like these were entering his mind when mie snapped him out of the daze with her sudden high pitched voice. "Soo.. has anyone caught your eyes yett?? You're so cute, it won't be hard for you to get someone you like" she asked with a secretive yet humourous tone in her voice. The first thought that came into Yuki's mind after hearing her question was the incident from the morning. He quickly lowered his head in shy. "Ooohhh so there really is someone!! Tell me pleasee!, I promise I won't tell anyone!" She said with an excitement in her voice. "Uhh no there isn't.. anyone.. like that-" he wasnt lying actually, He had only known that guy from this morning and he didn't even knew his name. With his ripped body and 6'1 height, Yuki was more afraid of him than interested. As he kept thinking about these things he suddenly heard a voice familiar to his ears near him. "Hey mie, how have you been?" He turned his head towards the voice. The one who stood near their table was non other than the Kaede Hatsumi himself, the one who has crashed onto him this morning, and the same person whom he was thinking about right now!

[10 minutes ago]

As kaede was about to walk towards Yuki's table he saw Mie sitting with him. "Hey isn't that! Mie...? Kaede, did you see that!!" Osamu said in a surprised tone of voice. Kaede didn't reply but just stood there for a while. Haru said "can't believe, it's his first day at school and he's pulling your crush!" Kaede heard it but didn't replied. After a few seconds he said "let's go sit with them" haru and osamu knew, stopping him would go in vain, so they went along with him and reached their table.

"Hey mie , how have you been?" Kaede asked immediately. Mie had a surprised look while Yuki was shocked to see him again. "Oh hey kaed! What are you doing here" she asked him. "Ahh nothing I was just passing by and saw you, thought we could talk, also..It's been a while since we have seen each other." Kaede said immediately as if he had planned this whole conversation in his mind. Mie replied rather slowly with, "Right, it sure has been some time.." she paused for a moment "anyways, come sit with us ! This here is my new friend Yuki. Do you know him? He is new here." She finished. Everyone including kaede stared at Yuki which made Yuki a bit anxious about his appearance. Yuki sat there fidgeting his fingers while kaede and his friends took seat. Osamu and haru had sat next to him while kaede took the seat beside mie. "ah ! It's Yuki, We have met before, right?" Kaede started as if he wasn't rude to him this morning. Yuki was confused at first but then he thought that maybe he had forgiven him for that incident. After all Yuki was the one to blame himself for everything that happens. "Y-yes.. I remember.. in the morning-" before he could finish mie asked "you two have met before, wow thats good. When ? Where?" "U-uh.. that-" Yuki was interrupted again before he could finish. But this time it was kaede by saying, "yes, he was looking for the way to the office and I showed him the way, RIGHT?" Kaede finished with an evil smile in his face directly looking Yuki in the eye. Yuki got scared with the look and just nodded and said "y-yes.. he helped me.." "reallyyy? Damn, that's the first time I've heard kaede help someone!?" Osamu commented. He and haru both knew what happened actually, but they were just teasing Yuki. "Me too!" Continued haru. Mie listening to this, said "that's really good, maybe kaed has took a liking in you. You both should get along! And kaed! Take care of him okayy :)) !!" Kaede just smiled at this. "And Yuki, You can trust him. He may look rude but he is a nice guy." She continued. Yuki also smiled at this, trying to hide his confusion from face.

The rest of the lunch they just talked about random things, Yuki never tried to get into the conversations. He just listened to everyone and got to know the names of osamu and haru. After lunch they all dispersed and went on their own. Yuki found the way to the class for the next period. The day went by in a blink and when it was time to go home, mie appeared behind him and asked "going home?" Yuki was startled a bit, "ah yes mie" he said smiling. "Oh alright! We are going out a few days later, are you in?" She asked. He wanted to go with her, but thought it was too early to hang out with other kids and he had just enough social anxiety to refuse her. "Uh .. no.. I don't think I'll be free this or the next week, I'm sorry " he said. "Oh... It's alright.. then.. see ya later bye !" She said. "Yes bye bye !" Yuki replied. He saw her walk away and join her friend group. Just when he has about to turn around, he heard someone call his name aloud "YU-KI!" He turned around to see who it was, and the look of his face after realisation only displayed these few words "what does he want now... :("
