The School Tyrant’S Adorably Obedient Kitten

Description

What’s it like when your crush turns out to be a cat demon? Chu Chen thought, at least he wouldn’t need to buy cat ears and a tail as props.

[Note: All characters are of legal age]

Everyone at Qingshui No. 2 High School knew that Chu Chen despised that stalker named Shen Guai.

That was until someone caught Chu Chen cornering said stalker against a wall: “You’ve been avoiding me lately, why?”

“Because you like someone else, Chen-ge.”

Chu Chen froze; this was something only the little kitten knew.

“Aren’t you curious who I like?”

The kid was on the verge of tears: “I don’t want to know…”

In the next moment, Chu Chen pinched his chin and kissed him.

Holding him close, Chu Chen whispered, “That person… his name is Shen Guai.”

Short Summary:

Chu Chen picked up a little kitten. One day, he told the kitten that he had a crush. The next day, the kitten disappeared.

[A kitten demon who’s sweet, cute, and occasionally a little scheming, especially around his crush & a human school tyrant who’s persistent in his dislike but eventually ends up doting on the kitten]

[1v1, pure-hearted, both physically and emotionally clean]

Chapter 1

The night of mid-August was still stifling hot. The pedestrian street was empty as Shen Guai finished cleaning, checked the switches of the appliances one last time, stepped out of the ice cream shop, and locked the door.

The time on his phone read 23:59. Leaning against the door, he waited, then whispered as the time turned to four zeros, “Happy birthday, Shen Guai. I hope Chen-ge stays safe and sound this year too.”

[In Chinese culture, the term “ge” (哥), which translates to “older brother,” is often used as a form of address that conveys respect, familiarity, or affection.]

He was superstitious and believed that a wish made at the first minute of his birthday was the most powerful.

Maybe he had a slight fever, as he felt lightheaded.

He wanted to close his eyes for a moment to clear his head, but his body suddenly felt heavy, and everything went dark. When he opened his eyes again, the discomfort had vanished, but his vision was much lower, and everything around him appeared dimmer.

What shocked him more was that when he looked at his hands, all he saw were two small, furry, black paws reflected in the ice cream shop’s sign.

Stunned, Shen Guai turned over his paws, shocked to see two tiny pads.

What on earth was happening?!

He glanced at the glass door beside him, which clearly reflected the image of a small black kitten with heterochromatic eyes.

Shen Guai raised his left hand, and the kitten in the reflection lifted its left paw. He raised his right hand, and the kitten raised its right paw.

Shen Guai wanted to exclaim “What the—,” but what came out was a soft “Meow.”

Wait, what?!

On his eighteenth birthday, with no warning, he had transformed into… a little kitten?

Shen Guai struggled to accept this reality and tried to lean closer to the glass door for a better look. But having just turned into a cat, he hadn’t yet adjusted to “walking like a cat.” With his first step, he lost his balance and fell flat on the ground, his four tiny legs splayed out.

It didn’t hurt, but it sure was embarrassing.

The little kitten lay there, meowing pitifully, arms and legs spread out, refusing to move.

Chu Chen, coming home after night study, was surprised to find Chu Yunting, who spent over 30 days a month away on business trips, sitting on the living room sofa watching the news.

The two had always had a tense relationship, and their arguments never ended well. They ended up having a huge fight, leading Chu Chen to storm out.

For some reason, he ended up wandering to the pedestrian street.

He glanced at the closed cold drink shop on the corner and let out a self-deprecating laugh.

Why had he come here?

Just a few hours ago, he had harshly told Shen Guai to stop following him. But Shen Guai was stubborn; no matter what Chu Chen said, he wouldn’t agree. And when the words got too harsh, he’d apologize with teary eyes, making it look like Chu Chen was bullying him.

Shen Guai spotted a familiar figure nearby—Chen-ge?

What was he doing out here in the middle of the night? Another argument with his dad?

Chen-ge didn’t look happy at all.

Shen Guai glanced down at his little paws, remembering the saying he’d seen online: “Petting a cat makes people happy.” A renewed sense of determination filled him, and he called out, “Meow!”

Thanks to Chu Chen’s appearance, he was finally able to accept this strange reality.

Even though he tried to sound louder, his voice remained soft and kittenish.

Luckily, it was late at night, and the city was quiet. Chu Chen heard it and instinctively turned around.

He saw a small black kitten standing in front of the ice cream shop, meowing at him again: “Meow.”

The kitten clumsily stood up, trying to walk toward him but kept stumbling, eventually collapsing onto the ground. It looked pitiful.

Shen Guai: …

Chu Chen: …

Chu Chen smirked slightly, while Shen Guai felt a pang of sadness.

Chen-ge, I wanted you to pet me and feel happy, not to laugh at me!

Chapter 2

Shen Guai was determined to face off against his four little short legs. He would fall down and then get back up, staggering as he walked, only to fall again and get back up.

Chu Chen couldn’t bear to watch any longer. While he was genuinely moved by the little kitten’s relentless spirit, the kitten was just so clumsy.

All cats are a bit nearsighted, but Shen Guai was not. He clearly saw the look in Chu Chen’s eyes; it was definitely not one of “patience for the foolish,” right?

Oh well, if he’s foolish, then he’s foolish. As long as Chu Chen was happy, that was all that mattered.

However, before Shen Guai could get back on his feet, Chu Chen had already walked over to him.

Shen Guai looked up, his neck aching from the strain of keeping his head tilted back to meet his gaze.

As the shadow loomed larger, Chu Chen crouched down, placing his warm palm on the little kitten’s head. “Whose silly little kitten are you?”

“Meow.” Yours.

Perhaps small animals possess a unique ability to heal the heart, especially such an adorable little creature.

The little kitten had one blue eye and one yellow eye, round and shiny, resembling two precious gems.

Now, those two gems looked at him, clear and bright, as if trying to comfort him.

Shen Guai rubbed his head against Chu Chen’s palm.

“Meow\~” Don’t be angry, Chen-ge. I’m trying to look cute for you.

The little kitten struggled to stand upright, wrapping its short front paws around Chu Chen’s finger and shaking…

But it failed, toppling over instead.

The little kitten hung its head in defeat; it was truly so clumsy.

Seeing the little kitten’s disappointed expression made Chu Chen chuckle.

In an instant, Shen Guai perked up again, rubbing against Chu Chen’s finger. “Meow.”

Chen-ge, you’re smiling, so you must not be angry anymore, right?

“Meow,” Shen Guai sat down on the ground, adopting a serious expression. “Meow meow…”

He stretched out a paw, trying to point to the sky. Unfortunately, his paw was too short, so he pointed instead at the streetlight, meowing several times.

It was getting late; Chen-ge should go home! He couldn’t stay out playing with cats all night!

Chu Chen didn’t quite understand his meaning as his phone rang; it was the assistant of Chu Yunting.

The assistant’s tone was very formal, and in the quiet of the night, Shen Guai caught every word: “President Chu wants me to inform you that he is going abroad on a business trip…”

Before he could finish, Chu Chen hung up the call.

Notification, notification, notification—when did he ever not go on a business trip? What was there to notify? The number of times he could see him in a year could be counted on two hands, and they never met with good spirits.

Chu Chen figured that if he were to die one day, Chu Yunting wouldn’t react at all.

Something furry was nudging under his hand. Chu Chen looked down to see the little cat pushing its head against his palm and then rubbing against him.

The little kitten didn’t know how to cheer him up, so it could only nuzzle him.

Chu Chen patted its little head and, for some reason, said, “I’m not angry.”

Oh well.

Since Chu Yunting was gone, he might as well go back to sleep; he had early morning classes tomorrow.

Shen Guai knew full well that Chu Chen was about to leave, and he wanted him to go home and rest, but he couldn’t help feeling reluctant.

Chu Chen had patted his little head again and again. “You should go find your owner. I have to go.”

Even if the little cat was willing, Chen-ge, you can’t just use the little kitten and then throw it away!

After Chu Chen walked a few steps, he suddenly felt something heavy on his leg.

Looking down, he saw the little kitten clinging tightly to his pants, hanging off him like a little ornament.

Chu Chen chuckled, “Are you trying to cling to me?”

The little kitten blinked its eyes.

What are you talking about? I don’t understand. I’m just a little kitten.

Then, with a “swoosh,” something happened.
