'Another casual day at work,' or at least that's what one of the senior worker, Maeve thought. She enters the building with a confident feeling in her Classy white shirt, black blazer, and long black formal pants. 'I literally ate with today's look.' Maeve thought to herself with a proud smile on her face. She walks towards the cafeteria and grab a quick cup of coffee. On the way to her

desk, her clumsy personality shines and accidentally bumps into a tall, masculine looking man. Maeve never seen a man that's attractive af like that, but she quickly gains composure. "Oh, sorry" she says in a light yet friendly tone, thinking it was a new junior worker. The man raises an eyebrow and glances at maeve's employees identity card before responding "It's all cool".

They walk past each other, and finally Maeve arrives at her desk. she take a seat and sip on her cup of coffee.

" Morning, Confident girl" Says the girl with a stunning blond hair that sit next to Maeve. "Good morning the shy girl, Wynter" Maeve responded to Wynter.

"It's rare to see you come here early."

"At least appreciate it?!" Maeve responds, rolling her eyes while looking at Wynter who's chuckling softly as she continues with work.

Maeve takes a sip of her coffee and starts working.

Maeve and Wynter focuses on their work, till Maeve can't help but focus on the cheering and claps coming from the main meeting room. She knew the junior workers is there because of something. She decided to just ignore it and thought 'The meeting probably just succeed or something.'

Suddenly the sound of the announcement speaker comes, taking all the worker's attention. "Attention to all senior workers. There'll be a public and important announcement at the Main meeting room, please stop all your activity and go to the main meeting room." Says the announcement, repeating it two times. "I guess we gotta go." Maeve says to Wynter, saving her work file and finishing her cup of coffee. They both stand up from their seat and walk together towards the main meeting room. At the meeting room, they took a seat next to each other at the front row. After all the senior workers arrive, their eyes automatically moved towards the point of the room as their current CEO, Alex Draxzen enters. "Good morning everyone," says Alex while holding the mic and looking at everyone in the room as everyone responds. "Today is a very important day. this announcement was meant to be announced yesterday but failed cause some workers were sick." "Let me get to the point. Me, Alex Draxzen AKA your CEO right now, will resign from this company because of personal reasons," everyone's reaction is mixed. but a lot of them is either confused or sad. "So with that being said, I Decided to let my trustworthy best friend replace me. Let's give a round of applause to...Xander Kane Ludovic!!" he says, stepping aside to let Xander take all the attention. As Xander walks into the room, Maeve's eyes widen in shock as she froze on her place, genuinely surprised. "Good morning everyone, let me introduce myself. Pleasure to meet you, I am Xander Kane Ludovic. I used to study at Harvard Business School. I am 25 years old and is an old friend of Alex. You all can call me Xander."

Maeve is still frozen in her place while other seniors claps. She can't believe that her new CEO is the man she accidentally bumped to before on the way to her desk! She's rethinking about the scenery when she bumped into her CEO and casually says sorry as if they have been friends for months and doesn't look respectful at all, she's so dead right now. 'F*ck! I didn't even bow slightly or say it respectfully… I am so dead. Someone pls help me..' She thinks to herself, panicking so bad. Wynter nudges Maeve's arm gently, noticing her change in behavior. "Girl.. are you okay?" Wynter asks, her voice a little above whisper. "I'm fine.." Maeve responds weakly. "Alright, I guess.. but oh my gosh Sir Xander is so damn hot. His age is literally around ours!" Maeve just nod slightly hearing Wynter's comment. Her friends is really not insensitive.

Maeve looks at Xander hesitantly, looking at the confident and masculine man near her. As Alex kept talking and explaining things to make it all more clear, Maeve just couldn't focus on the speech. Instead, her gaze was locked onto Xander's physiques that looks strong yet fit perfectly with Xander's facial features and height.

Maeve kept looking at Xander, her gaze looking up at his eyes until… She noticed Xander was already looking at her first, making eye contact. Well, crap. Maeve's gaze quickly went from Xander, to Alex instead. Maeve don't know why, but she feels like her cheeks is heating up a bit, making her cheeks a little red. 'Sh*t…' Maeve thinks to herself. She's now too scared to look at Xander again. Well, she can't help it, so she decided to try again, and take a 'quick' glance at Xander. She takes a deep breath before looking at his eyes. Maeve's eyes widen in shock, and she quickly looks away again after Xander's respond to her gaze, raising an eyebrow at her. 'Okay, Maeve. Stop stealing glances please…' she thinks to herself. "And lastly I would like to thank everybody for doing your best on your job. You all have helped each other including me to make this company starts from zero to one of the most successful. I'm grateful for being here and I'll now hand the mic over to Xander." says Alex, closing his speech. Respectful claps fill the entire room again after Alex's speech.

As Xander is doing his speech, everyone in the room listens carefully including Maeve. "Ahh!! Sir Xander is so f*cking hot!!" Wynter says suddenly, making Maeve roll her eyes and look at Wynter is disgust. Maeve also thinks he's attractive but is too prestige to admit it. Besides, she thinks having a crush on her own boss is forbidden and mostly seen disrespectful.

Xander's speech just ended, Xander and Alex lastly did a quick handshake and respectful 'bro hug'. The photographers took some pics of the whole announcement. Turns out, they already told the Junior workers first, cause' obviously the main meeting room couldn't fit the whole office's workers. Now, Maeve know why she heard claps and cheers coming from the main meeting room before. They also planned a party for the workers before today's working time is over to celebrate Xander as the new CEO and also to spend more time with Alex before he officially stops working as their CEO.

After they all go back to their working room and desks from the main meeting room, one of Maeve's workmate approach her and tap her shoulder gently to get her attention "Maeve, Sir Xander wanted to see you at his office" 'WHAT?! Shoot... I'm so dead.' was what Maeve wanted to say, but she knew she had to keep calm for her elegant image. "Alright, I'll go to his office now, thank you!" Maeve says with a smile. Her workmate respond back with a smile and walks away. Maeve takes a deep breath and stands up from her desk. "Good luck, bestie~" Wynter says teasingly, hearing the information from Maeve's workmate.

Maeve scoffs and walks towards the Elevators.

As she clicks one of the up button, the elevator opens. 'ARGHH WHY AM I SO DAMN UNLUCKY TODAY?!' Maeve thought to herself as she saw that Xander was already in the elevator, also wanting to go to his office with some thick files on his hands. Maeve nod a bit out of respect towards Xander,and Xander steps aside, letting Maeve go in the Elevator. Now it's only both of them alone. "Sir...I'm sorry, uhm-... may I talk to you about something later?" Maeve says, trying to get more courage. "Sure. I'm sure we have something to talk about at my office." hearing Xander's respond, Maeve nodded a bit and looks down at the floor out of embarrassment. 'I'm so dead right now, Wynter...help me...' Maeve thought to herself.

Maeve follows Xander to his office.

"Take a seat." Xander says, pointing at the chair in front of his desk with his hand. Maeve did as told, still with embarrassment in her eyes. "S-sir... I'm really sorry for being disrespectful before, I thought you are a new worker and I didn't even bow..." Maeve says hesitantly with her head down. "I told you before, it's fine. I called you here for some new files to work on." Xander says, putting 2 thick files on his desk. Maeve let out a sigh of relief, turns out Maeve have been holding her breath unknowingly since she sits down.

Maeve herself always cares about her works. She never made a mistake before and is always kind to her workmates. Even tho she secretly hates some of them, but she didn't want to cause any trouble.

"Is everything fine?" Xander words snaps Maeve back to reality. The whole time, Maeve was wandering in her thoughts and didn't respond to Xander. "Y-yes, sir. I'll work on the files now." She says, grabbing the files on his desk. "Good. You may leave." Xander says, leaning back on his chair. "Okay... Thank you sir." Maeve says, standing up and walking towards the door before getting out of Xander's office, closing the door carefully behind her.

The second Maeve gets out of Xander's office, she feels way lighter and quickly takes some breaths. It feels too tense, narrow and congested that it took her breath away.

Maeve went back to her desk feeling light. Upon arriving at her desk, she leans back against the chair and sigh while putting the files on her desk. "Gurll... What happened? Did he ask you out? Did you guys start dating?!" Wynter's questions make Maeve narrow her eyes, her face showing signs that she's annoyed. "Stop with those weird and nonsense questions, I swear. He gave me 2 more files to work on, that's all."

"Ohhh…" And Wynter just laugh it off as if it was nothing.

Just like that, they continue with their own works.

Maeve stands up from her desk and stretch her arms, feeling tired. Wynter yawns and also stands up. "Today is Sir Alex's last day as our CEO… I'm going to miss him." Wynter nod in agreement with Maeve's statement. "I'm so damn tired". Maeve scoffs, "So am I".

"Anyway we have to attend the party. I heard there'll be pizzas and wines. Even beers! You're going to drink today, right?"

"Yea, probably. It's been a while since I drank." Maeve responds.

"Good, so Sir Xander can take care of you in case you're drunk." Wynter says, smirking in a teasing manner.

"WTH?!"

"Hey!! I'm not joking, I heard Sir Xander is also REALLY caring~ Besides, I ship you with him."

"I'm so done with you…." Maeve says, rolling her eyes.

Today's party is only for the seniors, since the junior workers have a huge project coming up. The junior workers will be getting gifts and pizzas at their cafeteria instead of a party.

Maeve saw the juniors lining up at their cafeteria for the gifts and pizzas, Maeve gags, noticing how many pizzas and gifts is there.

The seniors are lining up to go out of the office building, The party will be arranged at a huge 4-Star Michelin restaurant that can fit all the senior workers.

"Maeve, aren't you proud? You're the first one to interact personally with Sir Xander~"

"Oh shut up!"

Wynter just responds with a chuckle. Honestly as an introvert, Wynter is 24/7 calm and barely interacts with people. But... When it comes to shipping her besties, she's always active.

All the seniors finally arrived. They're all separated by the floor, because of the huge amount of worker. Just like a supportive bestie, the universe seem to also ship Maeve x Xander. Yes, Maeve got to sit at the SAME TABLE with her new CEO, Xander. At that table, there's only Xander, Alex, Maeve, Wynter, and 2 more workmates. The expensive pizzas have finally arrived, the workers devour them in a matter of minutes. It's time for the thing that the workers have been waiting for, beer and wine. Especially Wynter, because she's a heavy drinker. Maeve don't know why, but she can feel her heart pounding when she accidentally made eye contact with Xander while holding her glass of wine. Her eyes is wandering at Xander's attractive hand, that's also holding a glass of wine in a somewhat attractive way with metal and silver rings wrapped around his fingers. Maeve know damn well Xander is not married yet, he use rings just as a style purpose. Maeve know Xander have amazing taste in style, because his metal jewelries goes so well with his formal and cool pants and tie.
