Huh?
Did I hear her right?
Is she out of her mind???
“I said, I'm breaking up with you.” My girlfriend had said, her face didn't show any sympathy towards my feelings about this sudden announcement from her. She just.. sat on the other side of the table, looking at me, blurting out those words as if they were nothing. On the other side, I was frozen, shocked. What had gone wrong that made her want to break up with me? Perhaps I did something that I didn't notice? What was the reason? My heartbeat was accelerating with each passing minute.
“Why?” Was all I could ever respond to those words. My heart had dropped to my stomach, it was too much to comprehend.
Harley, she had been my girlfriend since highschool. Yeah, we were highschool sweethearts. We're in college now, I'm in 2nd year, she's in 3rd. I had to stop for a year due to financial problems.
Now, she wants to end it?
“I don't have feelings for you anymore. None other than that, my feelings are starting to grow on someone else.” Harley had responded in a cold tone, her arms were crossed, she was keeping this professional as if we were in some kind of meeting.
“What? Are you insane?” My eyebrows had furrowed, the sadness had been replaced by anger, my fists were clenching. I couldn't make a scene, we were in public; it'd be embarrassing. “Have you lost your mind?” I added in the end, my breath getting heavy.
“Maybe, maybe I haven't. Distance was never my thing, Micheal. You need to understand that college, and long distance is a tough nut to crack.” She sighed deeply, rubbing her forehead with her fingers.
“For pete's sake! I could drive to you, you're only 3 hours away! This distance is nothing, harley.” I wanted to say more, but she had cut me off.
“Like I said, I'm done with you.” Harley repeated once more, afterwards, she got up, grabbing her purse. Before she walked away, she looked at me one more time, “Goodbye, Micheal.”
She walked away, leaving me with countless thoughts and questions.. I had a blank stare, with my head down as I was silent. I couldn't comprehend properly.
Did those years mean nothing to her at all?

I had come home, dropping my jacket on the floor. I lived in an apartment that I was sharing with two of my friends, rhoe and Jackoll. I made my way up to my bedroom, flopping on my bed. I felt hopeless, I placed my hand on my face, feeling my tears.
Huh..? When did I start crying..?
I didn't even notice I was crying till I rubbed my face with my hand. I stared at my hand for quite some time, thinking about everything. That's when I had finally cried, alone.
Yes, alone. Always alone.
Maybe soon enough, there'd be someone out there for me.
Soon enough, from exhaustion, I had fallen asleep. My eyes felt sore, my body felt cold; How I wish someone would hold me close. I was in deep sleep, hoping this would take me away from reality already.
Just take me away.
Please..
This is unfair.
End my misery.
New day, new chapter.. without her.

Michael woke up from his deep sleep, his eyes were sore, swollen. They in fact did hurt. He must've cried so much till he drifted off to sleep. He sat up, glancing over at the clock on his lamp table. The sunlight was illuminating his room, everything was bright. He got up from my bed, fixing his bedsheets and his pillows as he let out a soft sigh.
Sooner or later, he had finished getting ready. He was fixing his bag when he heard a commotion downstairs. It was probably Rhoe and Jackoll arguing about something stupid. He grabs his bag, heading towards the door; opening it. He closed it behind him as he headed downstairs.
“You have to be kidding, Rhoe! How the hell did you lose it?!” Jackoll exclaimed, running his fingers through his hair, frustrated at some point.
“Look, it was just here! I swear, I didn't lose that. I just placed it down here last night.” Rhoe responded, getting defensive about Jackoll’s accusations. It was clear she was infuriated about their situation.
“It’s 9 in the morning, and I come down just to see two dimwits arguing.” Michael commented, heading towards the fridge, opening it. He grabs his bottle, closing the fridge again. He turned back to look at them, raising an eyebrow, “What are you guys even arguing about anyway?” Michael asked, opening his bottle as he drank it.
Jackoll's attention turned to him, taking a deep breath before explaining what happened. “Rhoe lost our project, and that's due today. It was the USB for our presentation.” Jackoll murmurs, his jaw clenching.
“You should keep looking, even though the USB is just right over there.” Michael pointed, at the TV, the USB was beside the remote. Jackoll’s eyes trailed to where his finger was pointing at, and his eyebrows raised, clearing his throat.
Rhoe blinks in silence, in disbelief that they fought over that stupid thing when it's been there all along. “Ah.. I must've placed it there last night..” Rhoe mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck; letting out a soft chuckle under her breath.
He rolled his eyes, walking off, “I’ll be home later, I gotta go. I'll be late for my first subject.” He heard them say their farewells as he walked out of the apartment, closing the door behind him.

He was walking down the street, listening to music. He had a coffee in my hand that he bought along the way. He took a sip from it, humming under his breath. He let out a soft sigh, looking down at his watch. He still had a few more minutes before class started.
Finally, he arrived at his school. He quickly headed inside, rushing to get to his classroom when he suddenly bumped into someone, his coffee spilling on his shirt. His eyes widened, standing frozen as he looked down at his shirt, “Shit.” Michael murmured, frustrated by this event.
He looked up to see who bumped into him. He was ready to shout at them, till he was met by a girl. His eyes widened, she looked empty. She didn't even react or anything when she bumped into him. What is with this girl? Not even gonna apologize to him?
“Hey! Are you not gonna apologize for bumping into me?” Michael exclaimed, his eyebrows narrowing. His tongue flicked against his teeth, shaking his head in disbelief with this girl.
“Maybe watch where you're going next time.”
She uttered out, walking off immediately before he even had the chance to reply. He gritted his teeth, his gaze hardening. He looked down at his shirt again, scoffing. He didn't have time for this so he ran off to his classroom.

It was lunch break already, He was still pissed off because of that girl. The audacity to say that to him when she's the one who bumped into him! He just had to take off his shirt a while ago at the washroom, lucky for him, he had his hoodie. “Damn that girl…” Michael muttered under his breath, heading to the cafeteria.
As he arrived at the cafeteria, he was instantly met by her gaze. Her cold gaze. Her brown eyes. That just made him shiver at some point, he turned around due to the intense gaze that she was doing. Had she been staring this whole time? He gulped quietly, feeling like he's being watched the whole time, “What is with this girl.. Who even is she, I never saw her here before..”, Michael mutters to himself, taking a deep breath; turning around when she was suddenly in front of him. She had been behind him the whole time, causing him to be off guard.
