Their blades clashed, echoing through the halls. Yè Xiān's movements were swift, precise, but Lixin's power seemed unmatched.
They battled across the palace, through chambers and courtyards. Yè Xiān's guards fell, one by one, under Lixin's relentless assault.
As they fought, Yè Xiān sensed Lixin's darkness growing. His eyes burned with an otherworldly energy.
Suddenly, Lixin landed a blow, sending Yè Xiān crashing to the floor.
"You should have killed me when you had the chance," Lixin hissed, his sword raised.
Yè Xiān gazed up, defiant. "I'll never yield."
Lixin's smile twisted. "We'll see about that"
Lixin's soldier took an opportunity...to attack her..
Yè Xiān's vision blurred as the arrow struck her shoulder. She stumbled, her sword slipping from her grasp.
Lixin's soldier approached, his face twisted in a snarl. "Finish her," Lixin ordered.
But Yè Xiān's body crumpled to the ground, unconscious. Lixin's eyes narrowed.
"Throw her into the river," he commanded. "Let the currents carry her away."
The soldier hesitated, then lifted Yè Xiān's limp form. He tossed her over the palace walls, into the dark, churning waters below.
Yè Xiān's body sank, the river's currents sweeping her downstream. Her life seemed to slip away, lost in the darkness.
Yet, fate intervened.
A figure, hidden in the shadows, watched Yè Xiān's fall. They dove into the river, expertly navigating the currents.
With powerful strokes, they swam toward Yè Xiān, grasping her wrist
Morning sunlight danced across the waterfall's misty veil. Yifei, an elderly man with wispy white hair, walked along the riverbank, gathering herbs.
As he rounded a boulder, he spotted Yè Xiān's limp form, caught in the rocky shallows.
Yifei rushed forward, concern etched on his weathered face. "Child, what sorrows have brought you to this place?"
He gently lifted Yè Xiān's head, checking her wounds. The arrow's damage was severe, but Yifei's skilled hands moved swiftly.
With tender care, he cleansed and bandaged her wounds
Yifei gently lifted Yè Xiān into his arms, cradling her like a child. He walked along the winding path to his secluded cottage.
Inside, he laid her on a soft pallet, covering her with a warm blanket. Yifei's eyes filled with compassion as he gazed at her peaceful face.
"Child, what turmoil have you endured?" he whispered, shaking his head.
Yifei tended to her wounds, applying herbal remedies to speed her recovery. As night fell, he sat beside her, watching over her.

Yè Xiān's eyelids fluttered, but she remained unconscious. Yifei's concern grew; her injuries were grave.
Suddenly, Yè Xiān's body began to tremble, her skin burning with fever. Yifei swiftly prepared a cooling poultice, mixing powdered jade and mint with rice wine.
As he applied the poultice, Yè Xiān's eyes snapped open. She gazed at Yifei, confusion and pain etched on her face.
"Drink this," Yifei said softly, offering another dose of tea.
