Eva was making breakfast and humming her favorite song in her kitchen.
She was happy as Tylor industries had won a big contract, and they were celebrating it by throwing a grand party.

"Mommy!!"
Five-year-old Grayson shouted,

".... Breakfast?"
Eva hurried to bring him breakfast.

Eva smiled, feeling warmth in her heart. She married the most famous and most successful businessman, Ethan Tylor, Owner of Tylor industries.
Her marriage was a business arrangement between two business families.
Her father and Ethan's father wanted to merge their businesses. So, they had a grand wedding witnessed by many people worldwide and covered by the media all over.
After spending eight years in her loveless marriage, Grayson was the only happiness she found for her. Her son. Her whole world revolved around her son.

Sighed silently, looking at her watch. Her husband would be there for breakfast anytime. So she thought about it and started making breakfast.
Ethan Tylor was her husband, a famous business tycoon, and a ruthless and cold-hearted man. He was known to be a playboy before their marriage. He dated almost every model and actress. But after he got married, he was never seen with any girl other than his wife.
He was a man with his own principles. When he took over his family business, he became the most ruthless and cold-hearted businessman who didn't think from his heart.
Eva had been in love with him for two years before their marriage. So she was over the moon when her parents proposed an arranged marriage with Ethan. He was her first crush.
But reality hit her after marriage. Her cold-hearted, devilishly handsome husband never had time for love. He was busy all the time.
They didn't even go on a honeymoon because Ethan was working on a deal at that time. He never used to talk to her besides her family and their son. But, she always craved his affection and attention.
He gave her everything but his heart.
After Grayson was born, she poured all her love into her son, and now she was happy with this arrangement. She was happy. At least Ethan was hers. They both now had a son who would make their connection strong.
Inside her, in the corner of her heart, there was still a hope that someday, maybe Ethan would learn to love her.

Eva turned to look at their side, finding Ethan standing near the dining table, wearing a crisp white shirt with a black suit jacket and black trousers. A red tie was knotted around his neck, looking as handsome as always.

He still had that effect on me. She thought, rolling her eyes in her mind.

"I'll be late. Don't wait for me at dinner."
Ethan said after finishing his breakfast.

She started getting Grayson ready for his school

After dropping her son off at school, She had to meet her best friend at their favorite cafe. After that, they had planned to go shopping.

Kat hugged her best friend.
She was her childhood friend. Only she knew the truth about her marriage in this whole world. They were an ideal couple for everyone, but Kat knew her friend was not happy as she didn't get the love and attention of her husband, which she deserved.

"How've you been?"
She replied, shrugging her shoulders, and they laughed together.
Kat had already ordered coffee for her also. She knew her favorite. She also learned about Eva's crush on Ethan She had before marriage. Kat had warned her friend before her marriage about Ethan's playboy image. But Eva was blinded by his charm and was on cloud nine when she was engaged to Ethan Tylor.

"How's Ethan?"
Kat asked, cringing her nose.

She knows everything about their marriage and Eva's condition, She wanted to see Eva happy. She had suggested many times that Eva should speak go her parents.
But Eva was still hoping that one day everything would be fine and her prince charming would fall in love with her.

Eva said, trying to change her mood. She knew how much Kat dislike Ethan for being cold towards her.

Eva was supposed to accompany her husband to every business event, and one was coming as Ethan's company achieved a big success in a current venture. So they were celebrating his success.

"Okay, bestie! Let's go."
Kat chirped, pulling Eva's hand. Eva threw some bills on the table and was dragged towards the exit by Kat. They laughed and left for shopping.

Celebrating his success
After shopping for hours, they both had their hands full of shopping bags.
Eva felt happy after meeting her friend, who filled her with all kinds of gossip. They talked for hours. Eva used to forget all her worries about her.
Her smile did not leave her face even after picking up Grayson and returning home .
Grayson insisted on playing with his mom after coming home, So went to a park, and Grayson played there while Eva talked to other moms. Playing for hours, Grayson was tied when they returned home.
But Eva made him complete his homework which he got from school.
After dinner, she tucked Grayson into his bed to sleep. Then she went to her room.
Ethan had said that he would come late. But still, Eva waited for him over dinner. Finally, after some time of waiting for her husband to come back, She ate dinner and went to her bedroom.

So tied that as soon as her body hit the soft mattress, she fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, she heard some noise in her sleep, knowing her husband was back. She kept sleeping.

Came home at midnight. He changed and lay beside Eva.He kept staring at her face for some time with unknown emotion in his eyes. Finally, he closed his eyes, and soon sleep engulfed his tired mind.
Today was the day when they were celebrating their company's success. Ethan left early in the morning, throwing his order on Eva to get ready on time in the evening.
Wearing a red backless gown, Eva looked very beautiful. She saw herself in the mirror and murmured,

She put some makeup on her face, finishing with red lipstick and mascara on her big blue eyes.
She could be a model if she wasn't married and decided to become a housewife. With a perfect figure and a beautiful young face, nobody could say that she was the mother of a 5-year-old-boy.
She admired herself one more time in mirror and then twisted her wrist to see the time on her watch. It's almost time. She went down the stairs to find Ethan's assistant and bodyguard Trevon standing there.

Eva smiled, nodding her head in response.

"The car is ready for you."

"Okay, let's leave."
Eva gestured to him to lead the way.
After reaching the venue, she searched in the crowd for Ethan. She found him standing there with a group of people discussing something, maybe business? She thought.
Feeling her presence, Ethan turned toward her.
He smiled and gestured to her to come to hold his hand out.

🙄🙄Eve rolled her eyes in her mind.
She sighed silently and took his hand. He introduced her as his beautiful wife in his circle.
Getting bored between business talks, she looked around the hall to find something that would make this boring evening interesting.
She excused herself for a drink.
Holding her glass, She went to the adjacent balcony.
Her phone started ringing. Seeing it was from home, She instantly picked it up.

"Madam, Grayson has a fever. He is crying and asking for you. That's why I bothered you in the middle of the party."

Eva disconnected the phone and went straight to Ethan, who was laughing with his people while enjoying his success party.

Ethan grabbed her hand, almost dragging her through the crowd to a corner. His expression was now scary enough. His eyes were shooting daggers towards her. She knows by the looks he was very angry.

"Why do you always behave childishly, Eva? When will you learn that my work is more important than your nonsense talk?"
Saying this, he perked Eva's hand with force and left to join his people again.
Eva silently cried in pain, pain shooting through her arm.
She wiped her eyes with the back of her plam. This pain was nothing to the pain in her heart.
She looked once again towards her cruel husband, who was busy speaking to his business guests and left the venue with hurried steps. No one would notice her absence. Her husband would definitely not mind her missing the party.
With this thought, tears again started running out of her eyes. She stopped a taxi outside and took a seat. After giving instructions to the driver, she called home to find out how her son was now and to inform Mary that she was coming.
Rain was pouring down the road as her eyes were also pouring with the thought that Ethan didn't love anyone other than his work. Not even his son. The last hope of love in her heart died with this thought.
