Akira and Suzumi’s First Meeting:
Akira first encounters Suzumi at the crime scene.
She’s not supposed to be there—press and civilians are strictly off-limits.
But Suzumi has her ways, and she’s already managed to slip past security, observing the scene like one of her fictional detectives.
Scene: Nakamura’s mansion.
Akira is inspecting the crime scene when he notices someone out of place.
Suzumi, a tall woman with sharp features, is standing by the bookshelf, her fingers lightly tracing the edge of the shelves.
Akira
This is a restricted area.
Akira
Civilians aren’t allowed past the perimeter.
Suzumi
(without turning) Civilians,
Suzumi
But I’m not exactly your average civilian,
Akira
(annoyed) I don’t care who you are.
(finally turning to face him)
Suzumi
You’ve read my books,
Akira
If I wanted fiction,
Akira
I Wouldn’t be standing in the middle of a murder scene.
Suzumi
This isn’t fiction, but it could be.
Suzumi
I’ve seen enough crime scenes to know that this one is… peculiar.
Suzumi
For one, the killer knew exactly what they were doing.
Suzumi
No prints, no mess.
Suzumi
Someone’s trying to send a message, and it’s the kind of story even you wouldn’t want to ignore.
Akira
Story or not, this is real.
Akira
And unless you have a reason to be here,
Akira
You’re leaving. Now.
Suzumi
Let’s just say I have a vested interest in this case.
Suzumi
You’ll need my insight sooner or later
Akira, the serious detective, and Suzumi, the sharp, observant crime writer who seems to know too much.
Episode 1
[Scene: A dimly lit café.
Akira, the detective, sits at a corner table, reading through a case file.
Suzumi, a well-known crime writer, approaches and takes the seat across from him.]
Suzumi
Reading up on your latest disaster
Akira
(without looking up)
Akira
I expected you to turn up after the headlines,
Suzumi
A good crime story always starts before the climax.
Suzumi
You should know that.
Akira
(finally looking up)
Akira
Is that what you call this?
Akira
Seven people dead, and no leads.
Suzumi
Seven dead, no leads…
Suzumi
Sounds like the perfect plot twist to me.
Akira
And you—what do you know about this?
Suzumi
I know you’re not as clueless as you pretend to be.
Suzumi
There’s something you’re not telling the press.
Akira
I could say the same about you.
Akira
You’re not here just for inspiration.
Akira
You’ve been following the case… Why?”
Suzumi
You think I don’t notice things?
Suzumi
The pattern’s clear,
Suzumi
You’re dealing with a killer who’s been inspired by my stories.
Akira
(pauses, considering)
Akira
Then you’re closer to this than anyone else.
Akira
That makes you either an expert witness
Suzumi
I’ll take ‘expert witness,’
Suzumi
But we both know this goes deeper than a copycat.
Suzumi
You need me on this
Akira
“I don’t need anyone who plays games.
Akira
You have 48 hours to prove your theory—or
Akira
You’ll be writing your next book
Episode 2
[Scene: Akira’s office, late at night. Akira is sifting through a mountain of reports when he hears a knock on the door.
He’s surprised to see Suzumi standing there, uninvited.]
Akira
I thought I made it clear—this is a police matter.
Suzumi
(walking in confidently)
Suzumi
But you’re running out of time, Detective.
Suzumi
You need my help, even if you don’t want to admit it.
Akira
What makes you think I need help from a writer?
Akira
This isn’t one of your Stupid book's
Suzumi
That’s where you’re wrong.
Suzumi
He’s following a pattern.
Suzumi
A pattern straight out of my last novel,
Akira
What are you talking about?”
Suzumi
(hands him a copy of the book)
Suzumi
The victim, a politician, strangled in his study.
Suzumi
No signs of struggle.
Suzumi
A clean, precise kill. Sound familiar?”
Akira
(flipping through the pages)
Akira
This could be a coincidence.
Suzumi
There’s no such thing as coincidences in crime.
Suzumi
Someone’s recreating my book, down to the smallest detail.
Suzumi
That’s why I’m here. .
Suzumi
Whoever’s behind this is toying with you—and with me
Akira
If what you’re saying is true, then this isn’t just a murder case.
Suzumi
And if you want to win,
Suzumi
You’ll need to play by the killer’s rules.
