Wealth Beyond Worlds

Prologue: The Accident

The night was still, the city a symphony of flickering lights and distant car horns. Lucas Evans sat behind the wheel of his old sedan, eyes heavy from exhaustion. The weight of the day pressed on his shoulders like an anvil. Another long shift at the tech firm, another paycheck stretched too thin. His mind wandered to Emily, his wife, probably tucking the twins, Leo and Liam, into bed. His heart ached at the thought of their tired smiles, always understanding, always patient, even when he couldn't be home in time to say goodnight.

“I’ll do better,” he murmured to himself, gripping the steering wheel tighter as he navigated the dark, familiar streets. "I’ll give them more. I have to."

But life, it seemed, was deaf to his promises.

The headlights of a truck appeared out of nowhere, blinding him. A screeching horn. The sharp sound of metal tearing through metal. Pain shot through his chest, the force of the impact crushing the air from his lungs. Time slowed to a crawl as the world around him spun and blurred. His mind struggled to comprehend the finality of what was happening.

This can’t be it, he thought, heart pounding in desperation. Not like this.

A distant memory flickered in the haze of his mind—Emily laughing, her eyes sparkling like the first time they’d met. The boys chasing each other across the living room floor, their giggles filling the house. He could almost hear their voices, feel the warmth of their small hands in his. He wasn’t ready to leave them. He hadn’t done enough for them.

But everything was slipping away. The world turned dark, the sounds around him faded, and the last thing he saw was the shattered glass glinting like stars against the black sky.

And then, nothing.

For a moment, there was peace. No pain. No worries. Just an endless void, calm and quiet, like drifting into a deep, dreamless sleep.

BEEP… BEEP… BEEP…

Lucas' eyes fluttered open to an unfamiliar sound a rhythmic, mechanical beeping. Slowly, the darkness lifted, replaced by a sharp light overhead. His body felt strange. Lighter. His chest, where he had felt the crushing blow, no longer ached.

As his vision cleared, Lucas realized he wasn’t in a hospital bed. He wasn’t even in his own world.

He blinked at the sight in front of him. Polished marble floors, towering glass windows that overlooked a city far grander than anything he’d ever known. The walls were lined with art that looked like they belonged in a museum, and the air smelled faintly of leather and fresh linen. He sat up slowly, staring at the massive room in confusion. The bed beneath him was soft, the sheets made of something finer than he’d ever touched.

Where am I? he thought, panic rising in his chest. This wasn’t his small, cluttered apartment. This wasn’t his world.

A strange voice echoed through the silence, crisp and mechanical.

“Welcome, Host. You have been chosen by the Ultimate Investor System.”

Lucas whipped his head around, trying to locate the source of the voice. There was no one there—just the pristine luxury of the penthouse.

“What—what is this?” His voice was hoarse, barely more than a whisper.

“You have been transmigrated to a parallel world,” the voice continued, indifferent to his confusion. “In this world, wealth is power. Your goal is simple: accumulate unimaginable fortune, spoil your family, and live the life you’ve always dreamed of. The Ultimate Investor System will guide you.”

Lucas’ heart raced. “A system? Wealth? What are you talking about?”

“Starting capital: $1 million. Use the system’s features to invest, manage assets, and dominate the financial markets. Do you wish to begin?”

He stared at the opulence around him in disbelief, his mind spinning. This had to be some sort of twisted dream, a hallucination. But the numbers on a sleek tablet next to the bed showed otherwise: a bank account with seven figures stared back at him.

A million dollars.

"Is this... real?" Lucas whispered to himself, feeling the weight of everything crashing down on him. He'd just been in an accident. He should be dead. But instead, here he was, in a penthouse with wealth he'd never imagined, with a voice telling him that he could have the life he'd always wanted money, success, security. A life where his family would never have to struggle again.

A second chance.

"Yes," he said, his voice trembling with both fear and hope. "I'll begin."

Chapter 1: A Second Chance

The sun streamed through the massive floor to ceiling windows, casting warm light across the sleek, marble surfaces of the penthouse. Lucas Evans stood frozen in the middle of the lavish living room, his eyes darting around the unfamiliar space. Every inch of the place screamed wealth far beyond anything he had ever encountered. The rich scent of leather and polished wood filled the air, the faint hum of the city below barely audible through the thick, soundproofed glass.

His heart raced in his chest, the surreal events of the past few minutes swirling in his mind. I should be dead. The truck, the crash… it had been real, hadn’t it?

And yet, here he was, alive, standing in a luxury suite, with a voice in his head telling him that he had been given a second chance an impossible chance. He clenched his fists, feeling the solid texture of the fabric of his suit. The soft touch of expensive material was real. Tangible.

The robotic voice from earlier echoed again, calm and unfeeling.

"Welcome once more, Host. The Ultimate Investor System is now activated. You have been granted an initial starting capital of $1 million."

A cold shiver ran down Lucas’ spine. “This… this isn’t real, right?” he muttered, glancing around, half-expecting someone to jump out and reveal it was some cruel joke or bizarre dream.

But the voice continued, ignoring his disbelief. "Your primary mission is simple: accumulate wealth. The system will provide insights and tools for you to dominate the world’s financial markets. Stocks, real estate, commodities, and venture capital are all within your reach. Your ultimate goal: create a legacy that will ensure the prosperity of your family for generations to come."

Lucas swallowed hard, trying to comprehend what was happening. "Wealth?" he muttered under his breath. "Legacy?"

A million thoughts raced through his mind, and one stood out above all: Emily. His wife. The woman who had stood by him for years, enduring his late nights at work, his constant stress over bills, his never-ending promises of a better life. And then there were his sons, Leo and Liam, only six years old his little boys, the light of his life. He wanted to give them the world, to make sure they had every opportunity he never had. He wanted to be there for them, not just in spirit, but in presence.

But that had always seemed like a distant dream. Until now.

He glanced over at the tablet lying on the polished coffee table. Tentatively, he reached for it, his fingers trembling as he picked it up. The screen lit up, displaying a single, glaring number at the top.

Balance: $1,000,000.00

Lucas’ breath caught in his throat. He had never seen so many zeroes in his life. It didn’t feel real how could it be? Just yesterday, he was stressing over an unexpected bill, debating whether to buy groceries or pay the electricity on time.

Now, here he was, standing in the kind of penthouse only billionaires called home, with an account balance that could change his life.

"Okay," he whispered, his heart pounding. "Let's see if this works."

He tapped the screen, and a new interface appeared, displaying a dizzying array of options: Stocks, Real Estate, Commodities, Cryptocurrency, Market Trends, Future Predictions.

The list seemed endless.

“The system will guide you in your investments,” the robotic voice chimed in again, as if reading his mind. “You have access to features designed to ensure maximum returns with minimal risk. In this world, wealth is power, and power can buy you anything you desire. Your next mission: make your first investment in the stock market. Recommended entry points have been calculated for optimal gains.”

Lucas stared at the options, feeling his palms sweat. He knew nothing about stock trading nothing about high finance or global markets. He was a tech guy, the kind who fixed bugs and handled servers. But now, he was being asked to play with millions.

“Future predictions? Trends?” he muttered, clicking on the Stock Market tab. The screen changed again, showing a list of companies and their current stock prices. The names were vaguely familiar tech giants, pharmaceutical companies, real estate conglomerates. His mind swirled with indecision.

And then, as if on cue, the system’s screen flashed, highlighting several stocks in bold letters: SolTech, BioPharm, Medtron, Lux Realty.

“These stocks will experience significant growth in the next 24 hours,” the system said calmly. “Invest now for a guaranteed 20% return by the end of the trading day. Initial recommended amount: $250,000.”

Lucas’ stomach twisted at the thought. He’d never handled money like this before, let alone gambled such a sum on the whims of the market. But the system’s cold, mechanical certainty was unnerving. It wasn’t asking. It was telling him what would happen.

"Twenty percent..." Lucas mumbled, doing the quick math. That would mean a $50,000 profit in just one day.

For a moment, doubt clouded his mind. What if the system was wrong? What if he lost the money? But then, he thought about Emily’s worried smile, her stress about their financial situation. He thought about the twins, how they deserved more than hand-me-down clothes and an overworked father who never had time for them.

“This is for them,” he whispered. "I can do this."

Taking a deep breath, Lucas pressed Confirm. The screen blinked once, then the transaction was completed.

The day stretched on longer than any Lucas could remember. Hours passed as he paced the length of the penthouse, glancing at the tablet obsessively. Every so often, he would check the market, watching the numbers tick up and down in real-time. His nerves were frayed. He couldn’t focus on anything else, not even the luxurious amenities surrounding him.

By the time the sun began to dip below the horizon, the stock market closed, and the final numbers came in. Lucas stared at the screen in disbelief.

Account Balance: $1,250,000.00

His breath caught in his throat. The system had been right. The stocks surged exactly as predicted, and he had made a cool $50,000 in a single day. Just like that.

Lucas sank onto the plush leather couch, his hands trembling as he gripped the tablet. The reality of what just happened hit him like a freight train.

It wasn’t a dream. This was real. This was power. The kind of power that could change everything for him, for Emily, for his boys.

"One day," he muttered, a slow smile creeping across his face. "This was just one day."

The system’s voice returned, almost as if it were sharing in his quiet triumph.

“Mission complete. Congratulations, Host. Your journey has just begun.”

Chapter 2: Learning the Ropes

The morning light filtering through the penthouse windows was a sharp contrast to the dim, modest apartment Lucas had once called home. He stood at the massive glass window, looking out over the bustling city below. In the distance, skyscrapers reached toward the sky like giants made of steel and glass. It was a view reserved for the ultra-wealthy, and Lucas still hadn’t quite come to terms with the fact that this was now his reality.

He rubbed his temples, trying to process the events of the last 24 hours. The investment system. The unimaginable wealth. The ability to predict market trends. It all felt too surreal. His mind buzzed with a mixture of excitement, disbelief, and, above all, possibility.

A soft chime echoed through the room, breaking his train of thought. He glanced at the sleek tablet on the coffee table, the system’s interface flashing with new notifications.

“Good morning, Host. It is time to continue your journey. Today’s goal: diversify your portfolio. The stock market alone is not sufficient to build long-term wealth. You must explore new avenues of investment.”

Lucas picked up the tablet, the cool surface steadying him. A new menu had appeared, displaying various investment categories. Real estate, commodities, venture capital, cryptocurrency the options seemed endless.

He raised an eyebrow. "Diversify, huh? I don't even know where to start."

The system responded instantly. "Starting with multiple investment channels reduces risk and ensures steady growth. The system will assist in identifying key opportunities. Recommended focus today: real estate."

Lucas nodded slowly. It made sense stocks were unpredictable, even if the system could predict trends. Real estate felt more tangible. It was something he could see and understand. He had heard enough stories of people building fortunes on property investments.

“The current market is favorable for purchasing residential properties in key cities. You have been allocated an additional $2 million in available capital. Use this to acquire properties that will appreciate in value.”

Lucas’ eyes widened. “Wait—two million?”

He stared at the tablet again, watching as the balance updated to reflect the new capital injection. His mind raced. This wasn’t just an opportunity. This was a life-changing amount of money.

He scrolled through the real estate listings the system had provided. Luxury apartments in New York, sprawling estates in Los Angeles, beachfront villas in Miami. The prices were astronomical, yet somehow within his reach.

But then, one property caught his eye. A sleek, modern penthouse in the heart of downtown Miami. The system highlighted it as a high-return investment, predicting a 15% increase in value over the next year, thanks to a booming tech industry in the area.

"Miami... tech sector..." Lucas muttered to himself. He had read about the tech boom in Florida before, about how major companies were relocating there, driving up real estate values. It seemed like a good bet, and the system confirmed it.

“ Recommend purchase. This property will generate substantial rental income in the short term and appreciate significantly over the next 12 months.”

Lucas took a deep breath and clicked *Buy*. The screen blinked once, and the transaction was complete. Just like that, he owned a penthouse in Miami. His heart pounded in his chest as the reality of what he’d just done sank in.

The day passed in a blur. Lucas spent hours learning the ins and outs of the real estate market, with the system guiding him at every step. The system fed him constant updates new properties, market trends, and investment tips. Each move he made was carefully calculated, the system’s algorithms running behind the scenes, ensuring his success.

By mid afternoon, Lucas had acquired three more properties: a vacation home in Aspen, a commercial building in Seattle, and a residential complex in a rapidly developing suburb of Austin, Texas. Each one was predicted to deliver impressive returns, and yet, the process felt almost too easy. It was like having an invisible hand guiding him through the chaos of the market.

Sinking into the plush leather couch, Lucas took a deep breath, letting the whirlwind of the day settle in his mind. His portfolio was growing faster than he could have ever imagined. But beneath the excitement, there was a gnawing sense of unease. He didn’t know why, but something about this limitless power felt… wrong.

His thoughts turned to Emily again. She would have questions—serious questions. How could he explain this? How could he tell her about the system, about the sudden wealth? Would she even believe him? Or would she think he’d gone mad?

Lucas felt a wave of guilt wash over him. The system had brought him immense power, but at what cost? It seemed too good to be true, and he knew that nothing came without a price.

The sound of the system chiming broke his thoughts once more. Another notification flashed across the screen.

“Alert: Recommended action—luxury brand investments.”

He furrowed his brow. "Luxury brands?"

“High-end brands are experiencing exponential growth due to increased global demand. Recommend investment in prestige companies such as Louis Phare, Ellaria, and Vestra.”

Lucas hesitated. He wasn’t the kind of man who knew much about luxury brands, but the system had yet to steer him wrong. He selected Louis Phare, a company known for its designer watches and accessories, and within moments, the system had predicted a 10% increase in their stock price over the next quarter. He tapped *Invest*, and another $100,000 shifted into the market.

There was a rush that followed every move, a strange blend of control and surrender. Control because he was making choices, but surrendered because every choice was influenced by the system. It was like the system could see the future, bending reality to ensure Lucas’ every move was a success.

And yet, that gnawing feeling of unease remained.

The following days were a whirlwind of financial growth. Lucas' account balance swelled with every investment he made, the system's guidance leading him through a maze of stocks, real estate, and commodities. His phone buzzed constantly with updates profits from properties, surges in stock value, and new opportunities to explore. The money poured in faster than he could spend it.

Despite his success, Lucas couldn't shake the strange feeling that had been creeping over him since the system’s activation. This wasn’t just about wealth it was about control. The system had handed him incredible power, but it was also quietly dictating every move he made. The initial excitement began to give way to suspicion.

Who, or what, was behind this system?

"System," Lucas spoke aloud, his voice echoing in the quiet of the penthouse. "Why me? Why was I chosen?"

The system's reply was instant, emotionless. "You were selected based on your potential. Your ability to adapt and succeed in a high-stakes financial environment makes you an ideal candidate."

Lucas frowned. "But I wasn't... I mean, I was struggling before. Why now?"

"Circumstances have changed. Your potential is being fully realized."

The answer felt hollow, as though the system was holding something back. But before Lucas could ask more, the system chimed again.

“New mission available. Spoil your family.”

Lucas blinked in confusion. "What?"

The system’s tone remained calm and neutral. "You have accumulated sufficient wealth to enhance the lives of your loved ones. Provide for them. Make their dreams come true."

Lucas glanced down at the tablet, the wealth he had accumulated flashing before his eyes. He thought of Emily and the boys. He could finally give them everything they'd ever dreamed of. He could buy Emily the house she always talked about. He could send the boys to the best schools, take them on vacations to places they had only ever seen in movies.

His heart swelled at the thought. Maybe this was what it was all about. Maybe the system wasn’t just about making him rich it was about giving him the power to provide for his family. To finally be the husband and father he had always wanted to be.

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips. For the first time in days, the weight on his chest lightened.

"Alright," Lucas said softly. "Let’s do this."

He was ready to spoil them beyond their wildest dreams.
