It was 3 in the morning and the sky was pitch black. A giant explosion brought an entire building to flames, slowly collapsing.
A woman’s silhouette appeared ing in thehe distance, slowly walking h out off thehe burning building. Despite the heat on her back she was calm and nonchalant. Not a single drip of sweat on her. Her expression and demeanor were regal and intimidating, like she hadas survived hell and back and now ruled the world.
Her black as the night sky, her eyes an Ashely grey. Her hair was straight ands was in a side part. It reached her shoulders and accentuated her gentle features.
“Mission complete.” She says touchingng the ear peice on her we left ear. Her voice quiet and’s gentle but resounding, she was a true leader.
That’s one of the things people loved about out her, she didn’t yell or get angry, but her voice was strong and commanding. They couldn’t help but follow her.
She was only 22 years old but had already achieved the top at 17. At first people underestimated her, didn’t spare a glance. After all she was just a child…what did she now about the underworld? However, it didn’t take long for her name to spread. Once they saw her skill they couldn’t help but look up to her.
When she arrived at headquarters everyone kneeled as she walked by. They had seen her grow, they had raised her and trained with her, but they didn’t dare look down on her.
They could still remember the day their boss had walked in with an unconscious 7 years at old child in her arms. That was the first year one in many years that she had softness in her eyes, everyone was stunned, some on the verge of tears, others thought she had went insane. But one thing was certain, it left a deep impression on them.
Now she was all grown up and had long surpassed them. They couldn’t help be proud.
Their little Ray of sunshine (nickname) had made a name for herself as Agent Scarlet the number one assassin in the world.
Scarlet walked into the main office at thee end of the hall on the top floor, her black heels kicking and her hips swaying under her tight knee length skirt, the valley off her breast exposed by the black blouse she wore under her suit jacket.
Despite her outfit being professional, like many others who had either tattoos or pericings, she had 4 earrings on each ear. Two “tube” like earrings on the top, one on the bottom and a dagilling one on her earlobe. It was a mix between a dagger and a fan ( both weapons she trained with) her adoptive mother had given it to her on her 15th birthday.
She walked in and sat on thee small sofa on the corner off thehe room sipping the teas that was already prepared at the perfect the moment she arrived.
The woman sat on the large table able in front off her was the boss and founder off the entire organization. In other words, her adoptive mother, Beatrice ‘Le Morte’ the war orphan.
“This is a first.” Said Scarlet, sounding amused “If you look so worried…is is the end of the world?”
she taunted.
Only she would have the guts to say that to her.
Beatrice sat there staring into her soul with her her shrewd hazelnut eyes which were almost always squinted. But Scarlet didn’t flinch. She sighed and broke the silence.
“ it’s a relatively easy mission. However it does require skill and our infiltration squad is to proud to accept it. But the commissioners are to important to just send interns and novices.”
Scarlet’s attention was caught. Her curiosity got the best off her. That was the one thing that still showed she was human.
After all she never felt guilt, rage, sadness or resentment and revenge for her faked death that was staged to be an accident but in reality it was a murder. Her thirst for knowledge and amusement was the only thing she had left. Even for the woman who raised her she simply felt indebted, she had never loved anyone not even her family. Maybe it was a side effect from the crash but her emotions were all numbed. She was a decent actor and even bettered at shoving things deep down until she burst, and when she did burst she wouldn’t simply blow up a building on one off her missions…so no one ever really knew, they had a slightly idea but didn’t understand the intensity and severity of her emotional void.
“Details” she demanded.
Beatrice stared at her stunned and confused.
Scarlet: “I’m intrigued, you need an ilfitration agent. My disguise skills are top notch and I planned to take a break on missions for a while so I don’t have anything assigned. I’m perfect for this so start briefing!”
Beatrice stared at her blankly before breaking out in laughter. Catching her breath she reluctantly agreed and nodded, then she handed her the papers and started explaining the mission.
2 months later Agent Scarlet was dispatched to her mission.
Her hair was dyed brown and her pale skin was a lot more colorful. It made her eyes pop in contras.
Her mission was unlike anything she had done before. She had done a few protection missions before but didn’t understand why she needed to be undercover for this one.
She was supposed to disguise herself as a teacher and infiltrate West Brigde Academy for the elite. A school strictly for high society that’s taught many heirs too billion dollar companies all they needed to know.
Many Languages they would surely need to know, how to handle media, taxes and loans and contract agreements. Even etiquette like table manners and ballroom dancing.
Of course they also taught basics subjects like social studies and science (math and literature already fell into the language and taxes part). They also did sports and clubs, it had the best facilities with amazing benefits and high quality staff, food and courses.
They were never short on funds since most students parents were former alumni and constantly donated money.
However this meant that the teachers were very lineant and students who were born with everything very arrogant. Many classes were fine and didn’t give teachers much trouble…except for class 2-C.
Because, Scarlet herself was a world famous model that trillonare companies begged for her to model for them as well as having powerful connections… she was allowed to be a teacher after a few months of training despite having no diploma.
After all, the academy’s curriculum was very unique and there were many courses that normal colleges didn’t offer.
No one expected an Ettiquitte teacher to have a diploma. As long as they were proven knowledgeable about high society and were influential enough, they met the requirements.
Alas, that didn’t stop them from wanting to take advantage her. They decided to give her the trouble making class of 2-C. Little did they know that they just made her entire mission easier. After all, the group of commissioners were all mostly parents of the children in that class.
When she arrived on her first day she noticed something was wrong. Everyone’s eyes were full of pity and when walking her to her classroom she could see the head teacher’s obvious skepticism.
As soon as she finished showing the way she rushed out of there like a little mouse.
Her new alias was now Elvira Tsumi. She was wearing a $15 white shirt with a pair off jeans and gold hoops.
Because of this everyone stared at her like if she was crazy. Here even the chickens and gourmet and are killed by lunch time so they can be fresh. The cooks were famous world renowned chefs who a single one of their plates cost hundreds of thousands. And here she was with a $50 thrift shop outfit.
This however was a part of her lesson plan. Since she wasn’t even a real teacher and the class curric was already odd enough, she decided to have funny in her class.
As soon as she walked in she was greeted to the sight of many heirs to powerful families.
First off was the Valdiva twins, Mika and Frey from the Goddess Life Cosmetics company. Which coincidentally happened to be one of the few places Rosalind actually modeled for back when she was 19. They both had blonde hair, blue eyes and rosy cheeks. They were twins without a doubt but their personalities couldn’t be more different.
Frey was the eldest, she always had her hair down and appeared calm and collected.
Mika was the younger one, she was a clutz and like a little puppy to Frey, they always ate got along. She wore pig tails and always had that cutesy aesthetic.
They were the perfect representation of The Goddess Life Cosmetics Company.
,The class leader was Ethan Otto. He was the second son of the Revive Essence Company. They were behind the production of the Energize sports drink and the world famous Fit for Life gym for professional athletes.
His sage green eyes were soft but his gaze was penetrating. And his greyish brown hair accentuated his slightly red cheeks and his peachy pink lips.
He and his friend group were known as the school heart throbs. They were kind among themselves, drop dead gorgeous and rich and powerful. They couldn’t help admire them from afar but were to afraid to approach them.
It was odd but she couldn’t help staring at Edgar Vanderbilt. He was quite and although part of the ‘heartthrob’ friend group, he didn’t draw much attention to himself. He was the second born of the Pennywise Capital, a major financial group.
However, he was named es the heir because when he was 2, his 7 year old step sister died. It was sad because they were close and despite their age he could still vaguely remember her.
Scarlet was in a daze, the same pale skin, gentle doe eyes and dark hair. His eyes a darker grey, with less brown. The sense of familiarity that gave her goosebumps.
She didn’t like it!
She knew very well how attachment could lead to and how easily humans could betray each other. She put her guard up, just because they were children, still only 16 and 17, didn’t mean they were harmless.
When she was spotted entering the room, a kid called out to her.
“Hey! Who are you? Do you even know the meaning of high society…showing up to class wearing that?!”
The kid who shouted was the class delinquent and son of a congressman. His name was Gerald Holder. He was 6’2 and had aqua colored eyes. His hair was red and unruly. His jawline was sharp like Ike his nose brigde and brows. He had many peircings and his legs on the table.
Scarlet chuckled beneath her breath. This was all part of her plan to introduce herself, gain respect and standing and then start class. She had a knack for subtly manipulating people. Shee herself admitted it was a scary skill. but in her line of work it was incredibly useful.
He attempted too ridicule her. She seemed delicate and gentle so he imagined she was soft and would run away. No one in that room trusted teachers, or even people in general anymore. They had been lied to and betrayed many times. They learned the truth of the world early.
Everyone is greedy. Trust no one. They can and will betray you.
The only difference between them is that the students had each other. For Raya no matter how hard she tried she could never completely relax. Not with people or alone. She hadn’t been able to have a good nights rest in 15 years and that wasn’t gonna change now.
Even if she could depend on a bunch of students she wouldn’t trust them. She was used to walking into the lion’s den and ripping it apart. She wasn’t going to change her approach now, no matter her target.
She smirked, her eyes darkened in the shadow of her hair as she slowly turned around us and approach the board next to the doorway.
Elvira: “I’m your new homeroom and etiquette teacher. Elvira Tsumi.”
She grabbed a peice of chalk and started writing.
Elvira Tsumi, 22, etiquette professor…
Suddenly a hard cover book flew through the room. Gerald was pissed of that she was ignoring her and mad a rash decision.
When everyone noticed it was too late and they were too shocked to warn her.
Just when it was centimeters from her face her reflexes reacted. She turned around and grabbed the book with one hand, her expression never changed.
With smile on her face she looked at the class and said “oh? What’s this? The class material! Someone’s excited. But you should probably refrain from throwing stuff indoors…and try out for baseball! I’m surprised one of you could throw this so far!”
She opened the book and began flipping the pages, looking to see where they left off. After all, it was as mid way through the school year and this was a unique courses.
She heard a quiet and shy voice, “ Mrs.Tsumi? How come you’re so calm? Shouldn’t you be angry at us?” Her large peridot eyes that took up half her face looked so innocent. She tilted her head and looked at Elvira in confusion. Her hair was the same shade of brown Tsumi had dyed hers.
Her name was Emma, the 5th generation of a Japanese style antique store. It was well known and antique costed a lot of money so she had made it into the academy. But unlike many others she lived simply and wasn’t as outgoing.
She always keep her head down and stayed quiet.
Everyone was shocked and stared at her. Shehe was clueless to as if she said something wrong and simply sat there curious.
Tsumi stared blankly att her for a few seconds before laughing her as off and quickly pulling her together.
It was surprising how quickly she could change emotions. And it was even more interesting to observe. Like a one man show but with the plot line all over the place.
She finally spoke. “Listen closely this is your first lesson!” Her large doe eyes turned shrewd and sharp like blades, an inexplicable darkness appeared in her eyes. “Social events are a war between hypocrites.” She stated “To survive in it you need to learn who to be stronger than the enemy. Put a smile up to your ears and then talk shit about them to their face. They won’t realize it until it’s the end off the day. And if they do…they have no evidence and can’t cause a fuss.” She lowered her tone and started into the souls every student in the room as she slowly said “The.Best.Defense.Is.Offense.”
Everyone was stunned for a second, when they snapped out of it some stubborn and arrogant kids didn’t want to accept advice from some middle class commoner who go neverer steped foot into a ball.
Angry, a kid sitting to the left of the center of the room shouted.”What could you know?! You’re poor!
She smiled. She wore the oldest simplest clothes she could find forest this exact reason.
She grabbed her phone from the left back pocket of her jeans. She calmly scrolled through her phone until she found the bank account card with the money she made as a model.
It was the lowest balance on all her cards. But knowing that they’d probably freak out so she didn’t say anything.
Her phone was the latest model that would be coming out in 2 weeks. They had all tried so hard to get and failed. It cost 4 thousand dollars, how could she already have it?! Not to mention she looked so calm and used to the model when she used it.
Suddenly she flipped her phone around.
Card balance: $30,000,000,000
€15,000,000,000
¥ 230,000,000,000,000
In total she had over $200,000,000,000 in 3 different currencies. Everyone dropped their jaws, they couldn’t believe it!
After watching them stare at her in awe she spoke. “ Never judge or disrespect someone. If you don’t know who they are or who’s backing them…assume they can destroy your career.”
With that the bell rang and it was time for their language classes. English, Spanish, French, Mandarin, Korean and Italian. They took turns learning each language, rotating once a month.
Elvira swiftly exited the classroom and headed to her office to plan the next lesson.
