I Just Wanted to Be a K-pop Idol but Why Are the Members Obsessed With Me
chapter 1: The End and the Beginning
Seok-hyun
[groaning] "Where... where am I?"
His body feels heavy. Cold. The distant sound of traffic fills the air. Slowly, he tries to move, but sharp pain shoots through him.
Seok-hyun
[weakly] "What happened...?"
He struggles to open his eyes, but all he sees is the flickering red and blue lights of an ambulance. His vision fades in and out. Memories come rushing back in pieces. A truck... the screeching of tires... the impact.
Seok-hyun
"I... died? Oh no…"
Flashes of his life run through his mind. He was a member of one of the most popular K-pop boybands, S.TAR, but he was always the one dragging the group down. The talentless one. The one hated by the fans. The one resented by the other members.
Seok-hyun
"I tried so hard… but I was never enough for them."
He remembers the harsh glares from his bandmates, the cruel words whispered behind his back. Even the fans wanted him out. All of it was just too much. But now... it’s over.
Seok-hyun
"Maybe it's for the best..."
Suddenly, everything goes dark. His body grows cold as the world fades away.
Seok-hyun
"Wait… this isn’t... this isn’t right."
Instead of the blackness of death, MC finds himself enveloped in a strange, warm light. His body feels... lighter. He’s no longer in pain. When he opens his eyes again, the familiar walls of a lavish bedroom greet him.
Seok-hyun
[sitting up, confused] "What... where am I?"
Seok-hyun
The room is spotless, luxurious even. It feels eerily familiar, like something straight out of a K-pop idol's dorm.
Seok-hyun
[eyes widen] "No way... This is... this is our dorm room! But how? I was just—
MC’s hands fly to his chest. His heart is pounding, but it’s not the weak, fading beat he felt before. He jumps out of bed and runs to the nearest mirror.
Seok-hyun
"It’s me... but... younger? I’m... back?!"
He stares in disbelief. He’s the same person, but it’s him from years ago—before the truck accident. Before everything fell apart.
Seok-hyun
(inner thoughts): [panicking] "I... I was reincarnated?!"
His mind races as he tries to process the situation. He was part of the boyband S.TAR again, but now he had a second chance.
Seok-hyun
"I know what happens... I know how everyone turned on me. I can't let that happen again!
He slaps his cheeks lightly, determined. This time, he won’t make the same mistakes. He won't be the weak link in the group.
Suddenly, the door to his room flies open. A tall, handsome figure strides in—the leader of S.TAR, Jisoo. His cold, sharp eyes land on MC.
Kim-jisoo
"You're finally awake."
Seok-hyun
Freezes, He remembers Jisoo’s sharp tongue, how the leader always looked down on him for being talentless.
Seok-hyun
[nervous] "J-Jisoo..."
Kim-jisoo
[smiling, but his eyes dark] "I was worried about you."
MC’s heart skips a beat. Something about Jisoo’s tone is... off. Before, Jisoo would never have looked at him like this. But now, there’s a strange intensity in his gaze, as if he’s... watching him too closely.
Kim-jisoo
"You know, it wouldn’t be good if anything happened to you again." [steps closer, cornering MC against the wall]
Seok-hyun
[confused, nervous] "W-What do you mean?"
Seok-hyun
[softly, almost possessively] "I don’t like it when you disappear, MC. Not now. Not ever again."
MC’s heart pounds in his chest. The way Jisoo is acting… it’s not just cold indifference like before. It’s something else. Something darker.
Seok-hyun
[shocked] "What’s going on? This isn’t how things were before..."
Just then, another voice interrupts them.
Lee-Taeyang
(another member): "Jisoo, you’re suffocating him."
MC turns to see Taeyang standing in the doorway, his normally soft expression now clouded with something more... dangerous. He steps into the room, eyes never leaving MC.
Lee-Taeyang
hyunny are you okay? I don’t like seeing you upset."
Seok-hyun
[panicking] "What’s happening?! Why are they acting so strange?" and what's with that pet name hyunny
MC backs away slowly, realizing with a growing sense of dread that something has drastically changed in this world. The members of S.TAR aren’t just indifferent to him anymore. They’re obsessed.
Seok-hyun
[shaken] "I’ve been given a second chance, but… this is wrong. This time... they all seem so dangerous."
Jisoo and Taeyang exchange a tense look, as if silently competing for MC’s attention. The atmosphere in the room is suffocating.
Kim-jisoo
[glaring at Taeyang] "He was fine with me. Maybe you’re the one upsetting him."
Lee-Taeyang
[smiling darkly] "Oh, I don’t think so, Jisoo."
Seok-hyun
[stammering] "I-I’m fine! Really! Just… I need some air."
MC quickly rushes out of the room, his heart pounding, unsure of what to make of the strange, possessive behavior of his bandmates.
Seok-hyun
[determined but scared] "Something’s wrong with them... but I need to figure this out. If I don’t, I might not survive this time either."

Chapter 2: The New Reality
MC stumbles out of the room, heart pounding. His mind races, trying to process the strange behavior of Jisoo and Taeyang. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. In his previous life, they barely tolerated him—now they’re acting... possessive.
Seok-hyun
[panicking] "This is all wrong. They hated me before. Why are they acting like this now?"
As he hurries down the hallway, he bumps into another member—Kai, the group’s main dancer. Kai’s piercing eyes lock onto him, and MC freezes. He remembers Kai’s coldness from before. Kai was one of the most vocal about MC being a weak link in the group.
Hwang-Kai
[grinning slightly] "In a rush, are we?"
Seok-hyun
Swallows, trying to calm his nerves.
Seok-hyun
[nervous] "I... I just needed some air."
Kai steps closer, his gaze intense. There’s something different in his eyes now, something darker than before.
Hwang-Kai
"You shouldn’t run off like that. What if something happened to you?"
MC feels a chill run down his spine. Kai’s tone is soft, but there’s an underlying edge to it, like a warning.
Seok-hyun
[forcing a smile] "I’m fine. Really. Just... a little overwhelmed."
Kai reaches out, brushing a strand of hair from MC’s face. The touch is gentle, but it feels like a threat. MC steps back instinctively.
Hwang-Kai
[smirking] "You’ve always been too fragile. I’ll keep an eye on you from now on."
MC feels the walls closing in. This isn’t the Kai he remembered. The Kai from before barely acknowledged him, let alone cared about his well-being.
Seok-hyun
[uneasy] "Why are they acting like this? It’s like... they’re obsessed."
Before MC can respond, another voice interrupts.
Seo-Jinwoo
(the main vocalist): "Kai, don’t crowd him."
MC turns to see Jinwoo, the group’s charismatic lead vocalist. He’s always had an easy smile, but now, his eyes are sharp, watching every movement Kai makes.
Seo-Jinwoo
[stepping between Kai and MC] "You’re scaring him."
Kai glares at Jinwoo, but steps back, his grin never leaving his face.
Hwang-Kai
"Just making sure our precious member knows we care."
Jinwoo places a hand on MC’s shoulder, his touch warm but... possessive. MC flinches slightly.
Seo-Jinwoo
[softly] "You don’t have to worry about anything, MC. We’re all here for you."
Seok-hyun
forces a smile, feeling trapped between them.
Seok-hyun
[stammering] "Y-Yeah, thanks... I j-just need some space."
He quickly pulls away, heading towards the rooftop to escape the suffocating atmosphere. As he climbs the stairs, his thoughts spiral.
Seok-hyun
"This is insane. Jinwoo, Kai, Jisoo... they’re all acting like I’m some kind of prize. But why? They hated me before. This doesn’t make sense."
When he reaches the rooftop, MC leans against the railing, taking deep breaths. The cool night air calms him down, but the nagging sense of dread lingers.
Seok-hyun
"I was given a second chance... but this isn’t what I expected. Something’s seriously wrong with them. Maybe it’s just the three of them—"
His thoughts are interrupted as the door to the rooftop swings open. MC turns around to see two more members entering—Minjun and Seojin.
Minjun, the group’s composer and rapper, leans casually against the doorframe, while Seojin, the group’s visual, smiles warmly at MC.
Kim-Minjun
"You’re always running off, aren’t you?"
Park-Seojin
[tilting his head] "We were worried when we couldn’t find you."
MC’s heart sinks. They’re all acting the same. The cold indifference they once showed him has been replaced with something possessive, obsessive, even.
Seok-hyun
[nervous] "I just... needed some fresh air. Alone."
Seojin walks over, standing next to him by the railing, his eyes never leaving MC’s face.
Park-Seojin
[softly] "You don’t have to be alone, sweetheart. We’re here for you. All of us."
Minjun chuckles, walking closer.
Kim-Minjun
"And we won’t let anything bad happen to you. Not this time."
MC’s breath catches in his throat. "Not this time"? How could Minjun know about the accident? None of them should know. The MC from before was completely alone in the end, cast aside by everyone.
Seok-hyun
: [panicking] "Do they... remember too? Is that even possible?"
Seojin leans in closer, his lips brushing MC’s ear as he whispers.
Park-Seojin
"We’ll protect you, sweetheart. No matter what."
Seok-hyun
S-sweet heaRt??....I-i...
MC pulls away, heart racing. He feels trapped, surrounded by the very people who once despised him. Only now, their hatred seems to have twisted into something far more dangerous.
Seok-hyun
[Shaken] "I... I need to go."
He rushes past them, heading back down the stairs, his mind racing. As he reaches the hallway again, he nearly crashes into another member—Jaehyun, the group’s youngest member and the innocent-looking maknae.
Han-Jaehyun
[smiling brightly] "Hyung! I’ve been looking for you everywhere!"
MC’s heart sinks. Even Jaehyun is acting strange. He’s usually cheerful, but now his smile seems forced, like he’s hiding something behind it.
Han-Jaehyun
[tilting his head, voice sweet] "Why do you keep running away from us?"
Seok-hyun
[nervous] "I... I’m not running away. I just need some space."
Jaehyun’s smile fades slightly, his eyes narrowing.
Han-Jaehyun
[softly] "You shouldn’t run from me, Hyung. I don’t like it when you do that."
MC steps back, feeling the weight of Jaehyun’s gaze on him. Every single one of them has changed. Every single one of them is obsessed.
Seok-hyun
"I’ve been given a second chance, but... this isn’t what I expected. What’s wrong with them? Why are they acting like this?"
As MC’s heart races, he realizes one thing: in this new reality, he’s no longer hated by his bandmates. He’s become their obsession.
Seok-hyun
"I need to figure this out. Before it’s too late."
chapter 3: Bound by Obsession
MC rushes past Jaehyun, heart pounding as he tries to escape the suffocating attention of his bandmates. His footsteps echo in the empty hallway, but he feels eyes on him, even when no one else is around.
Seok-hyun
"What’s happening to me? To them? This is too much… too fast."
He finally reaches the kitchen, gripping the edge of the counter to steady himself. His breath is shallow, his mind racing.
Seok-hyun
"I need to calm down. I need to think. I have to find a way to make sense of this… before they—"
His phone vibrates in his pocket, snapping him out of his thoughts. He pulls it out and glances at the screen.
???
Unknown Number: [text message] "You look so cute when you're scared, kitten."
MC freezes, feeling the chill of fear crawl up his spine. His grip tightens on his phone as he quickly looks around the empty kitchen. No one’s there.
Seok-hyun
[whispering to himself] "Who... who’s doing this?"
Before he can respond, the door to the kitchen opens. Sungho, the group’s quiet and brooding lead rapper, walks in. His bright white hair falls over his eyes, and his expression is unreadable as he watches MC.
Jeon-Sungho
"You’re avoiding us."
MC steps back instinctively, feeling cornered. Sungho was always the least talkative member, always distant... but now, his silence feels menacing.
Seok-hyun
"I... I’m not avoiding anyone. I just... needed to think."
Sungho walks closer, his eyes never leaving MC’s. There’s something unsettling in the way he moves, deliberate and slow, like a predator closing in on its prey.
Jeon-Sungho
[voice low] "I don’t believe you."
MC’s heart races. The room feels smaller, more oppressive. Sungho stands inches away from him now, his presence overwhelming.
Seok-hyun
[nervous] "I’m just trying to understand what’s going on. Why are all of you acting like this?"
Sungho leans in closer, his breath warm against MC’s ear.
Jeon-Sungho
[softly] "Because we need you, hyung. You belong to us. Always have."
MC’s eyes widen. Sungho’s voice is soft, almost hypnotic, but the words send a wave of dread through him. His instincts scream at him to run, but his body feels frozen.
Seok-hyun
"This is insane... They didn’t care about me before. Why now? Why are they all like this?"
Before MC can respond, Sungho pulls back slightly, his dark eyes searching MC’s face. There’s a strange intensity in his gaze, a mix of obsession and something... more dangerous.
Jeon-Sungho
[quietly] "You’re not leaving us again, MC. I won’t let you."
The way he says it sends a shiver down MC’s spine. There’s no doubt in his mind now—Sungho, like the others, has become twisted by his obsession.
Seok-hyun
[forcing a smile] "I’m not going anywhere, Sungho. I just... need time to think."
Sungho’s lips curl into a small, unsettling smile.
Jeon-Sungho
"Good boy. Don’t keep us waiting too long hyungie."
With that, Sungho steps back, allowing MC a small breath of relief. He watches as Sungho leaves the kitchen, his figure disappearing into the shadows of the hallway. MC lets out a shaky breath, gripping the counter again.
Seok-hyun
"I’m trapped... They’ve all changed. This obsession is suffocating. I need to find out what’s going on before I lose myself in this madness."
As MC tries to collect his thoughts, the door opens once more, and steps in—Haneul, the quiet yet manipulative lyricist of the group.
Choi-Haneul
[walking closer, voice sweet] "You shouldn’t hide from us, you know. It hurts when you distance yourself
MC stumbles back, the counter digging into his back. He’s cornered again.
Seok-hyun
[nervous] "I-I’m not hiding. I just... need space."
Haneul’s eyes narrow slightly, his smile still in place, but there’s something sinister in his expression.
Choi-Haneul
"Space? Why would you need space from us? You’re the most important person in our lives, kitten. We’d do anything for you."
MC’s stomach turns. The words are sweet, but the underlying meaning feels like a threat. Haneul steps even closer, his fingers brushing against MC’s arm.
Choi-Haneul
[whispering] "Don’t forget that. Ever."
MC’s breath catches in his throat. His body feels cold, and a sense of dread coils tightly around him.
Seok-hyun
"They’ve all lost their minds...
