FATEBOUND SHADOWS
Episode 1
*Characters**:
- **Ren**: A quiet and reserved scholar who spends most of his time studying ancient texts.
- **Lyric**: A charming and mysterious rogue who hides a deep secret behind his playful facade.
Ren
*sighs* *murmuring to himself* "Another sleepless night… and still no clue about this ancient script."
Lyric
*appears suddenly, leaning against the bookshelf* "You’re always up late, aren’t you?"
Ren
*startled* "Wha—Lyric? What are you doing here?"
Lyric
*grins mischievously* "Just checking on my favorite scholar. You’ve been locked in here for days."
Ren
"I’ve been busy. This text is important."
Lyric
*walks closer, peering over Ren’s shoulder* "Ah yes, ancient runes and dusty scrolls. You really know how to live."
Ren
*frowns* "This isn’t a joke, Lyric. There’s something dangerous in these texts… something I have to understand before"
Lyric
*teasing* "Before the world ends? Relax, Ren. You’re too tense."
Ren
*turns to face him, serious* "I’m not exaggerating. The Shadow Wraiths… they’re real. And they’re getting stronger."
Lyric
*his playful smile falters for a second, but he quickly recovers* "Shadow Wraiths, huh? Sounds spooky. But I’m sure you’ll figure it out. You always do."
Ren
"This time it’s different. The Wraiths are feeding on something… something dark and ancient. I can feel it."
Lyric
*softens his tone* "You don’t have to do this alone, you know."
Ren
*sighs, rubbing his temples* "I don’t really have a choice, do I? No one else knows how to read these ancient runes."
Lyric
"Maybe. But you’ve got me."
Ren
*raises an eyebrow* "You?"
Lyric
*shrugs* "I’m more useful than you think. Besides, you could use a break from all this."
Ren
*half-smiling* "You’re not going to let me work in peace, are you?"
Lyric
*grins* "Not a chance."
Before Ren can protest, Lyric grabs his wrist, pulling him away from the desk. Ren stumbles slightly, but Lyric catches him, their eyes meeting for a brief moment
Ren
*murmurs* "You’re impossible."
Lyric
*smirks* "And yet, here we are."
They end up outside, the night air cool against Ren’s skin as they walk through the dimly lit streets of the village. The moon is high, casting long shadows across the cobblestones
Ren
"You didn’t have to drag me out here, you know."
Lyric
"Trust me, you needed it. You were starting to look like a ghost."
Ren
*glancing around* "I’m still not sure what you’re up to. Why do you care so much?"
Lyric
*pauses, his expression softening* "Maybe I just like your company."
Ren feels a sudden warmth in his chest at Lyric’s words, though he tries to hide it
Ren
*quietly* "You’re always so… difficult to read."
Lyric
"Good. That’s the plan."
there is silent in between them for few minutes and suddenly somethinge comes up
Ren
*stops abruptly* "Wait."
Ren
*eyes scanning the darkness* "Something’s here…"
Suddenly, the shadows around them start to twist and move, dark figures emerging from the alleyways. Lyric’s playful demeanor vanishes, his eyes narrowing
Lyric
*pulls Ren behind him* "Wraiths."
Lyric
*gritting his teeth* "Doesn’t matter. Stay behind me."
Ren watches in disbelief as Lyric unsheathes two daggers, moving with a speed and grace Ren never expected. Lyric’s strikes are precise, cutting through the shadowy creatures as they screech and dissolve.]
Ren
*stunned* "You… you know how to fight?"
Lyric
*grinning despite the danger* "Told you I’m more useful than you thought."
But more Wraiths begin to appear, circling them.]
Ren
"We can’t fight them all!"
Lyric
*breathing heavily* "You’re right. We need to leave. Now."
Lyric grabs Ren’s hand, pulling him through the maze of alleyways as the Wraiths give chase. Ren’s heart races, both from fear and the confusing feelings he’s been harboring toward Lyric
Ren
*panting* "Where are we going?"
They finally reach an old, abandoned chapel on the outskirts of the village. Lyric pushes the door open, pulling Ren inside before barricading the entrance
Ren
*catching his breath* "How… how did you know about this place?"
Episode 2
Lyric
*leaning against the door, his eyes serious* "I’ve been here before. It’s protected from the Wraiths. They can’t enter."
Ren
*frowning* "Why didn’t you tell me any of this?"
Lyric
*sighs* "Because I didn’t want to drag you into it."
Ren
"Drag me into what? You know more about the Wraiths than you’ve let on. You’re not just some rogue, are you?"
Lyric
*hesitating* "No. I’m not."
Ren
*crossing his arms* "Then what are you?"
Lyric meets Ren’s gaze, his usual playful expression replaced by something far more serious.]
Lyric
*quietly* "I was once part of them. The Shadow Wraiths."
Ren
*shocked* "What? How is that possible?"
Lyric
*looking away* "It’s a long story. One I’m not proud of. But I managed to break free… barely. Now they’re hunting me, and anyone I get close to."
Ren
*softly* "That’s why you kept your distance. You were trying to protect me."
Lyric
"Yeah, well… you’re not exactly easy to stay away from."
Ren feels a strange warmth at Lyric’s words, though confusion still clouds his thoughts
Ren
"You should have told me. I could’ve helped you."
Lyric
*smirks* "You’re saying that now, but I’ve seen the way you look at me. Half the time, you’re annoyed I even exist."
Ren
*flustered* "That’s not— I mean, maybe sometimes, but"
Lyric steps closer, his playful smirk returning, but his eyes are sincere
Lyric
*softly* "I didn’t want you involved, Ren. But now that you are… I can’t let anything happen to you."
Ren’s heart skips a beat as Lyric’s hand brushes against his
Ren
*whispers* "Why are you telling me this now?"
Lyric
*smiles gently* "Because I’m tired of pretending I don’t care. About you."
Ren’s breath catches, the air between them charged with unspoken emotions
Ren
*quietly* "I… I care too."
Lyric steps even closer, his voice barely above a whisper.]
Lyric
"Then don’t let go."
Ren nods, and in that moment, their worlds shift. Whatever dangers lie ahead, they would face them together
Episode 3
Setting Inside the abandoned chapel, the atmosphere is tense yet intimate. The air is heavy with the lingering threat of the Shadow Wraiths and the newfound closeness between Ren and Lyric.
Ren
(still catching his breath, eyes locked on Lyric)* “So, what now? The Wraiths are still out there
Lyric
(running a hand through his hair, his usual confidence slightly shaken)
Lyric
“We’ll need to stay here until it’s safe. I have a few more tricks up my sleeve to keep them out.”
Ren
*(hesitant)* “And after that? What happens when we leave this place?”
Lyric
*(looking away, conflicted)* “We’ll figure it out. For now, we need to focus on staying safe.”
Ren
(stepping closer, his tone softening)* “Lyric, I… I want to understand more. About your past, about what’s happening.
Ren
We need to be honest with each other.”
Lyric
*(sighs, his guard slipping)* “I didn’t want to drag you into this. But you’re right. We’re in this together now.
Lyric moves to the center of the chapel, where a small, ancient altar stands. He takes a deep breath, as if preparing to share something he’s kept hidden for a long time
Lyric
*(looking at Ren)* “The Shadow Wraiths… they’re a part of an ancient order, a group that once had immense power.
Lyric
I was trained to be one of them. But I rejected their ways, tried to escape.”
Ren
(frowning)* “Rejected their ways? Why?”
Lyric
*(sitting down, his expression haunted)* “I couldn’t stand the darkness they embraced. The things I was forced to do… they were beyond what I could justify.
Lyric
So I broke free, but not without consequences. They hunt me now, and anyone I get close to.”
Ren
(Sitting beside him, placing a reassuring hand on Lyric’s shoulder)* “You don’t have to face this alone. You’ve got me.”
Lyric
(Glancing at Ren, his eyes filled with gratitude)“I didn’t want to let you in. I thought it would be safer if I kept my distance.”
Ren
*(gently)* “But you’re not alone anymore. Let me help you. I want to be here for you.”
Lyric
(nodding slowly)* “Thank you. It means more than you know.”
As the night stretches on, the two sit close together, sharing stories and memories. The warmth between them grows, their bond deepening in the face of danger.
Ren
*(looking out the window, his voice soft)* “When this is over, what will you do? Will you try to make amends for your past?”
Lyric
*(pauses, thoughtful)* “I don’t know. My past is a part of me, but I want to move forward. I want to find some peace, if that’s even possible.”
Ren
(squeezing Lyric’s shoulder)* “We’ll find a way. Together.”
Suddenly, a loud crash echoes from outside, jolting them both. The Wraiths are attempting to breach the chapel
Lyric
(jumping to his feet, eyes alert)* “They’re getting more aggressive. We need to prepare.”
Ren
*(determined)* “What can I do to help?”
Lyric
*(grabbing a small, hidden stash of weapons from beneath the altar)* “Stay close. I’ll handle the fighting, but your support will make a difference.”
As Lyric prepares for the confrontation, Ren gathers his courage. The two share a brief, intense look, their resolve clear
Ren
*(firmly)* “I’m ready.”
Lyric
*(smiling faintly, his gaze softening)* “Then let’s show them we’re not afraid.”
With renewed determination, Lyric and Ren take their positions. The chapel’s doors shudder as the Wraiths try to break through. Together, they face the encroaching darkness, their bond strengthening with every moment.
Ren
*(while fighting)* “We can do this. We’re stronger together.”
Lyric
*(as he fights)* “Agreed. We’ve got this.”
As the battle rages on, Lyric’s skills and Ren’s newfound bravery shine through. They fend off the Wraiths, their teamwork proving to be a powerful force.
