Somewhere in Seoul…. An apartment was seen not so far away. On the second floor and room number 22, live a gamer named Hyun-Jin Lee.

“Yes, that's it! I'm almost there! Just a bit more and I will complete this game!” Hyun-Jin says while clicking his keyboard intensely playing a game he's good at.

“And…. A bit more….” Hyun-Jin says almost finished with the game he's playing.

“Yes! I finished! I actually finished the game!” Hyun-Jin jumps up happily after he finishes the game he's playing.

“Finally, I'm able to finish this hardcore game. It took me so long….” Hyun-Jin says that he's glad he's able to finish this hardcore game and it took him a long time to finish it.

Hyun-Jin was scrolling through social media on his phone and something caught his eyes. The news stated they've found something strange. Torii gates started to appear around the world. They called it “gate to the other realm”.

“Hmm? Torii gate? That sounds familiar…. Wait…. Isn't that…. That game! I knew it! It's the same as that game “Mimicry”! I played that once before. But…. How did the exact torii gates from the game start to appear around the world?” Hyun-Jin says after he identifies the torii gates as the exact torii gates from the game he used to play called “Mimicry”, something crossed his mind….

“It can't be…. The world has changed to a game…?” Hyun-Jin says that it can't be that the world has changed to become like a game. Right after he said that, a system interface appeared.

Hyun-Jin is utterly confused as to why the system interface suddenly appears out of nowhere. He recognized the system interface from the game “Mimicry”.

“This is the exact same system interface as that game. Is reality really changing into a game or am I dreaming?” Hyun-Jin says thinking that he's only dreaming but in reality he's not.

“I should register my name for now…. Hmm…. I will just go with my real name. Identify me as Hyun-Jin Lee.” Hyun-Jin says so the system can register his name.

To that one notification, Hyun-Jin is certain that reality has changed to that game. And he didn't expect to be the completed version, which is the “Fantasy Ahead” where everything is completed and there's so much stuff he could do.

“This will be fun. Let's see how hard this game is in real life.” Hyun-Jin says with a smirk on his face.

The next day, Hyun-Jin goes outside to see how the world is going.

“If I remember correctly, I need to get equipment before entering a torii gate. In the game it was stated that the best place to find equipment is the museum. Let's see what equipment I will get!” Hyun-Jin says that he remembers in the game, you need to get equipment first before entering a torii gate. That's exactly what he's doing right now. He's heading to a nearby museum.

When he arrives, he's surprised that there's already so many people at the museum looting equipment for themselves.

“I guess these guys already know how the game works. It seems like I'm not the only one who knows about this game. I'm guessing they're OG players. That game has no players nowadays.” Hyun-Jin says that all of these people are OG players of the game Mimicry. That's why they know what to do first.

“I, too, should start to loot stuff.” Hyun-Jin says and walks around the museum to find the equipment he needs.

While on his way, he picked up random items like tree branches, broken glass shards, pieces of clothing, etcetera.

“This place is already torn down. I'm guessing it's because of the energy impact when the torii gate appears. It's logical since the torii gate isn't far from here, either.” Hyun-Jin says that the place is torn down because of the energy impact from the torii gate that appears near the museum.

“Everything here already got affected by the torii gate. Even the equipment from the game appears here. If this is the real world, these equipment won't even exist. I mean, this is the real world but I'm talking about if there's no game like this. I just need one piece of equipment to craft that thing.” Hyun-Jin says that the items here already got affected by the nearby torii gate and equipment started to appear in the museum. He also says that these equipment won’t even exist if it’s not for the torii gate.

“For now, I should go find the items I need to craft that thing. If I remember correctly, it should be around here….” Hyun-Jin says and he goes to find the item he needed.

He goes around and went to the restricted area where all artifacts that aren’t displayed were stored at. While looking around Hyun-Jin found the item he needed to craft it.

“Found it. I have all the other items needed to craft that thing so I might just craft it now. First thing first, I will use all of these scarps I found on my way to craft something important for my growth. Use tree branches, broken glass shards and ragged clothes to craft ‘Enhancement Scroll’.”

The system interface pops up to confirm if Hyun-Jin really wanted to craft it or not.

“Now I can use this dungeon core to craft that dagger. But I need one more item to make it possible. I should find the Anubis Core first.” Hyun-Jin says that he can now craft the equipment he wants but he's missing some items for it.

Hyun-Jin goes around the restricted area to find all the items he needs.

“It's surprisingly quiet here. No one is even here yet. I'm guessing no one knows this place. Even though this should be a starter area, they somehow didn't know it....” Hyun-Jin says that the restricted area is somehow really quiet and no one is here. Hyun-Jin knows that the restricted area should be a starter area but somehow it's empty.

Hyun-Jin walks a bit more until he finally sees the Anubis Core inside a closed glass container.

“This is it. The Anubis Core. If I'm correct, I need to combine this with the Dungeon Core and craft the Sphinx's Soul. So, I can finally craft the Sphinx Dagger!” Hyun-Jin found the Anubis Core and intended to combine it with the Dungeon Core to craft the Sphinx's Soul and later craft it into Sphinx Dagger.

Hyun-Jin opens the glass container and takes the Anubis Core out.

“System. Craft Sphinx's Soul!”

“I just need to find the last item and combine it. And that will give me the Sphinx Dagger!” Hyun-Jin says that he needs to find one more items to finally be able to craft the Sphinx Dagger

Hyun-Jin walks around the restricted area to find where the last item he needs is. While checking around, he sees a strange orb. A black orb. Hyun-Jin takes a closer look at it and inspect the orb. The system interface pops up again.

Item identification complete. Abyss Core. S-rank. Grants any random S-rank skill related to the abyss after use.

“So, will this orb grant me a skill related to the abyss? That's pretty useful. I'm not going to use it now. I will store it first. I know what this orb is for.” Hyun-Jin says that he will store the Abyss Core first because he knows it will be useful in the future.

Hyun-Jin continues exploring the restricted area and eventually he arrives at what seems to be a loot room.

“This is…. A loot room! This will be helpful. I was eager to find one of these. But why is it here? If I remember correctly, loot rooms don't appear on earth. They only appear in the torii gates. I guess something changed about the game.” Hyun-Jin says that loot rooms can only appear in the torii gates but somehow there's one in the museum.

“That doesn't matter. At least I can find something useful here.” Hyun-Jin ignores it and goes straight to the loot room.

Right when Hyun-Jin steps his foot in the room, the room violently shakes. Hyun-Jin wasted no time and stepped out of the room immediately.

“What is happening? I get it now…. It's a trap, huh? I guess it's too good to be true.” Hyun-Jin realizes that it's a trap.

“I'm guessing it's the Baiter. I didn't expect there would be a monster out here. I guess you escaped from the torii gate, huh?”

Hyun-Jin says that he wasn't expecting any monsters, especially outside the torii gate.

The Baiter finally shows itself. It has a red body covered with scales. It's body is like a lizard. A giant lizard.

“Seems like I need to run now.” Hyun-Jin says he needs to run because of the Baiter.

Hyun-Jin turns around and immediately starts running as fast as he can. He ran out of the restricted area and headed straight to the main lobby of the museum.

“I have no choice….! Alright. Let's jump!” Hyun-Jin says that he has no other choice but to jump from the second floor to the lobby area.

Hyun-Jin runs towards the edge of the split staircase and jumps down and lands on the lobby area.

“That shouldn't be possible. I guess it's possible now because my physics got stronger from becoming a player. I'm gonna need to stop talking and keep running.” Hyun-Jin is a little bit confused as to how he survived that but he just shrugs it off and continues running out of the building.

Hyun-Jin runs to the nearest stadium while the Baiter is still chasing him.

“Damn. That thing never gives up, huh? The same as in-game. Come on! Where is that item? I need it right now for the dagger!” Hyun-Jin keeps running from the Baiter since it won't stop chasing him around.

Hyun-Jin stops and turns around to see how far is he from the Baiter. When he turns around, he can see that he's quite far from the Baiter. Hyun-Jin notices something shiny stuck on its scale near the head. When Hyun-Jin focused more to see what it was, it struck him. The last item he needed. The Broken Wrath. He needs that to craft the Sphinx Dagger.

“So that's why, I couldn't find it?! It's stuck on that damn monster’s body. What a hassle!”

Hyun-Jin turns to run up to the highest part of the stadium. He climbs up to the highest spot and waits for the Baiter to come closer.

“Come closer. I'm ready.” Hyun-Jin waits for the Baiter to get closer.

As it's getting closer to him, he jumps and lands on its head. Hyun-Jin wasted no time and grabbed the Broken Wrath that was stuck on the Baiter’s body.

“Got it!”

Hyun-Jin jumps down and lands safely. He runs again to get as far as possible from the Baiter. When he's sure that he's far enough to not get the attention of the Baiter anymore, he stops running.

“That sure is a long chase. At least, I got the item I want.” Hyun-Jin is glad that the chase is finally over.

“Finally. I can craft the Sphinx Dagger!” Hyun-Jin says happy after he finally got the last item needed for the Sphinx Dagger.

“Alright. Consume Sphinx's Soul and Broken Wrath to craft Sphinx Dagger”
