Zester: Tale of the God of Elements

Abandoned? Where to now?

His name was Zester. He lived in a world much like yours—though his life was anything but ordinary. From the moment he could remember, his goal was simple yet impossible: to become a god who could even command other gods. But fate was cruel; Zester didn’t know who his parents were or where he came from. He was just a kid surviving in a pile of trash, scraping through every miserable day.

One day, luck seemed to smile on him—he found some money! But before he could even celebrate, a gang of older kids surrounded him, their eyes gleaming with greed. In seconds, they took everything. Zester’s fury boiled inside him, but he was too weak to do anything. Broken and hungry, he wandered the streets, begging for scraps. It wasn’t much, but eventually, he got a bit of food. Yet, despite everything, Zester never gave up. He had a fire within him that wouldn’t be extinguished. People say, "First the struggle, then the smile"—a phrase meant to inspire hope. But for Zester, things never worked out that way.

It was pouring rain that day. Zester huddled under a tree by the river, savoring what little food he had. But of course, bad luck struck again. The same gang from before appeared, ready to steal from him once more. This time, Zester wasn’t going to back down. He stood to fight—but it didn’t go as planned. He slipped and tumbled into the rushing river, his food swept away along with him. Everything he fought for was gone in an instant.

But as he was dragged deeper into the water, something unexpected happened. In the dark, cold depths, he saw a glowing light—a shimmer that promised something beyond his wildest dreams.

What was it?

Zester didn’t drown. In fact, something incredible happened—he became immune to water. He swam back to the surface effortlessly, realizing he wasn’t even hungry anymore. Feeling oddly energized, he climbed out of the river and spotted the gang sitting around, devouring what was left of his precious chicken. Fueled by anger and newfound strength, Zester charged at them, ready to reclaim what was his.

He swung a punch with all his might—only to completely miss his target. “Sheep man!” he cursed himself. But something unexpected happened. That punch, despite missing, triggered something within him. As his fist sliced through the air, a spark ignited. Suddenly, flames burst from his knuckles, scorching the chicken—and setting the nearby trees ablaze! The gang scattered in panic, while Zester stood frozen, staring in awe at his burning hand.

As the fire raged, Zester couldn’t shake the strange sensation tingling within him. It wasn’t just the heat; it was something deeper, something elemental. He tried to convince himself it was a fluke, maybe just a wild coincidence. But deep down, he knew something within him had changed forever.

With the forest smoldering behind him, Zester continued his journey along the riverbank, wrestling with the reality that he might be more than just a boy surviving in the gutter. Maybe—just maybe—he was meant for something greater.

What is this place? huh...

After awakening his power over fire, Zester's life took an unexpected turn. No longer content to linger in the forest, he ventured into the nearby city—a sprawling maze of towering skyscrapers that pierced the clouds and streets glowwing with neon lights, like veins of electric energy pulsing through the heart of the city. The contrast to the tranquil forest was stark. The city buzzed with life, an overwhelming rush of sights and sounds, yet Zester felt a spark of excitement. For the first time, he sensed a world beyond mere survival.

But just as he began to feel a flicker of hope, a man in a black coat appeared, moving with eerie precision. Zester felt a strange mix of familiarity and unease, a brief moment of happiness that was shattered when the man suddenly teleported right in front of him. Fear gripped Zester as the man’s hand surged forward, wind whipping around it with the force of a powerful strike. Instinctively, Zester raised his hands, and to his surprise, a barrier of water formed, absorbing the blow. He had barely discovered his power over fire, and now this—water? It was a defensive force, but Zester wasn’t fast enough. The man vanished again, reappearing behind him, ready to strike.

Just when it seemed all was lost, another figure materialized between them. This man had striking green eyes that gleamed like emeralds and jet-black hair. With a swift motion, he deflected the attack and stood before Zester, a silent protector. Who was this mysterious savior? Before Zester could even ask, the stranger teleported him to another world.

The world around him shifted, and they stood top of a towering mountain, the air crisp and cool. The man introduced himself as Remy, the 21st legend of the 21 legends. Though he claimed to be the least powerful, there was a dangerous edge to his words—enough power to destroy the world, he said. Remy told Zester he had to remain on the mountain, a place cloaked in a protective safe zone. The mountain was rich with resources to sustain him, but it was clear that Remy intended for Zester to stay hidden, away from the dangers that lurked beyond.

But Zester was not one to sit idly by. Restless and determined, he began to explore his powers. Days turned into nights as he trained, pushing his abilities to their limits. He learned to control fire, water, and more, each new element a revelation. One day, as he ventured deeper into the mountain’s forests, a bear suddenly charged at him, its eyes wild and furious. Zester’s heart raced as he tried to flee, but the beast was gaining on him. Panic surged through him—until he felt a crackling energy in the air. Thunder roared above, and in a flash, Zester was moving at lightning speed, leaving the bear far behind.

He stopped, breathless and awestruck. He had discovered yet another element—thunder, granting him the speed of a storm. The realization struck him like a bolt of lightning: he possessed the power of the elements. But this was no time for celebration. Zester sensed a dark presence looming on the horizon, an enemy he couldn’t yet name. There was a syndicate, a shadowy threat that was more than just a group of adversaries—it was something ancient, something powerful.

Zester knew he couldn’t stay hidden forever. He had to train harder, become stronger, because whatever was coming for him wouldn’t wait.

Sensei?

*After three long years of intense training on that lonely mountain,Zesterhad become pretty strong. He could control fire, water, wind, and thunder—but he knew there was more out there waiting for him. He’d figured out that by touching an element, he could harness its power, but now he was itching to unlock the rest.*

So, he left the mountain, his mind set on his goal. He found a quiet cave where he could keep practicing, away from everyone else. Days passed by as he tried to figure out what was next, but something didn’t feel right. It was like there was a missing piece he couldn’t quite grasp. Then, one night, when the moon was high and everything was silent, a man showed up out of nowhere.

The guy was cloaked in shadows, and even though Zester didn’t know him, there was something strangely familiar about him. Zester, always on guard, asked, "Who are you??"

The man stepped into the moonlight, revealing a face that looked wise and old, like he’d seen a lot in his time. His voice was deep and carried a kind of authority that made Zester pay attention.

"You are the new god of elements," the man said, his words echoing in the quiet night. "That scar on your face? It’s more than just a mark—it’s a sign. Your father was the previous elemental god, and now it’s your turn to carry that responsibility. I’m here to help you understand your powers and awaken the soul of each element."

Zester’s mind was racing. His father, a god of elements? And that scar he’d had for as long as he could remember—it was supposed to mean something? The man’s calm voice helped Zester accept what he was saying, even though it sounded crazy.

*The man introduced himself asKael, a guardian of the elemental gods. He explained that mastering an element wasn’t just about touching it—it was about connecting with it on a deeper level, really understanding it.*

With Kael guiding him, Zester began a new phase of his training. They traveled to all sorts of places, searching for the purest forms of each element. In the scorching heat of deserts, Zester learned how to control fire better. In the ocean’s depths, he discovered how calm yet powerful water could be. They climbed high mountains where the wind was wild and stood on cliffs where thunder crashed like nothing he’d ever heard.

But it wasn’t just about learning to control these elements. Kael pushed Zester to see them as living things with their own wills. Zester had to prove himself worthy, to earn the right to command them.

As the days turned into months and then years, Zester’s connection with the elements grew stronger. With each new element he mastered, he felt like he was getting closer to his destiny. But he also started to understand how big of a responsibility it was. He knew that the path ahead wouldn’t be easy, but with Kael’s help, he was ready to take on whatever came next.

Yet, even as Zester grew stronger, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something dark was looming in the distance. He knew his true test was still to come, and when it did, he’d have to be ready.
