BROKEN: LOVE ME NOT
A life unraveled
The sun was setting over the bustling city, casting a warm orange glow over the crowded streets. Zephyr, with his messy black hair and bright brown eyes, navigated through the throng with ease, his 6'2" frame towering over most.
Zephyr
"Hey, Kali! Wait up!" I called out, spotting my friend's fiery red hair in the distance.
Kali
"Zeph! Over here!" She waved him over to a street vendor, where she was sampling some exotic-looking food.
Zephyr's eyes scanned the crowd, his instincts on high alert. He had a feeling something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
Zephyr
"What's that you're eating?" I asked Kali, eyeing the skewer of meat she was devouring.
Kali
"It's called 'Dragon's Breath'! It's supposed to be super spicy." She grinned mischievously.
Zephyr raised an eyebrow, his bright brown eyes sparkling with amusement. He loved Kali's adventurous spirit, but he wasn't sure if he was ready for something that spicy.
Zephyr
"You're going to burn your taste buds off one of these days." I chuckled, shaking my head.
Kali
"That's the point!" She laughed, her eyes sparkling with mirth.
As they joked, Zephyr's gaze drifted over the crowd, his instincts still on high alert. He felt like they were being watched, but every time he turned to look, there was no one there.
Fledgling pain
Zephyr's eyes locked onto a figure across the crowded market, his heart skipping a beat. Tall,handsome, with piercing eyes that seemed to see right through him.
Zephyr
"Kali, I'll catch up with you later. I need to...take care of something." I excused myself, my voice barely above a whisper.
Kali
"Zeph, what's wrong?" She frowned.
Zephyr
I just shook my head and melted into the crowd
Zephyr's feet seemed to move of their own accord, drawing him closer to the mysterious stranger. He could feel the weight of those piercing eyes on him, making his skin prickle with goosebumps.
As he approached, the stranger's gaze never wavered, his eyes burned with an inner intensity that made Zephyr's heart race.
Zephyr's vision blurred, and his legs buckled beneath him. He felt himself falling, but everything went dark before he hit the ground.
Zephyr slowly opens his eyes to find himself in a unfamiliar room. He tries to sit up, but a sharp pain shoots through his head
When he came to, Zephyr was met with a splitting headache and a room that was completely foreign to him. The furniture was ornate and western-style, with intricate carvings and dark, polished wood.
As he struggled to sit up, a voice brought him into focus.
Rowan
"Welcome back, Zephyr."
Makeshift morgue
Zephyr
Ugggh... What happened?
Rowan
Welcome back, Zephyr. You've been out for a while.
Zephyr
Who are you? Where am I?
Rowan
My name is Rowan. I'm a messenger of Caspian, the devil's son.
Zephyr
Caspian? The devil's son? What do you want with me?
He hug's himself as he shuffled back into the huge bed feeling exposed
Rowan
You're a person of great interest to him. That's all I can say for now.
Zephyr
What do you mean? Why am I here?
Rowan
All will be revealed in time, Zephyr. For now, rest and recover. You'll need your strength soon enough.
Zephyr tries to press Rowan for more information, but he remains tight-lipped
Zephyr tries to get out of bed, but his legs won't cooperate. He slides off the bed and lands in a rather embarrassing position, his legs splayed out to the sides
Zephyr
Ugggh... What's wrong with me?!
He looks around, trying to get his bearings, and catches sight of a mirror. He stares at his reflection, and his eyes widen in shock.
Zephyr
What the...?! This isn't my body!
He looks down and sees the dragon carvings on his ribs and torso. He's not wearing any clothes, and he sees strange marks on his body. But his face is still the same - black hair, bright brown eyes, high nose, and cute features. However, his eyes look different, more delicate and fragile.
Zephyr
What's going on?! Why do I have these marks on my body?!
Just then, he feels something seep out of his rear end followed by a tingling sensation, and he lets out a mortified cry.
Zephyr
AHhhh! What's happening to me?!
Before he can react further, he feels someone's arms around him, lifting him up. He's carried towards a door, and then through it, before being placed into a tub filled with warm water.
Zephyr
Wh-what's going on?! Who are you?!
Rowan
....Just relax, Zephyr. You need to clean up.
Rowan sighs as he stared at the trashing man in the tub as he was doused in the splashes from the tub.
