As Taehyung and Jennie arrive at the steakhouse for lunch to meet Jennie's boyfriend Kai and his son Jungkook,
Taehyung can't help but feel a mix of emotions. Upon walking into the steakhouse,
The hostess leads them to a table where they spot Kai, and for the first time, Jungkook.
Taehyung stifles a gasp when he lays eyes on Jungkook - his chiseled jaw,
Dark hair cropped short to his head, and dark mesmerizing eyes.
Taehyung says in disbelief to Jennie as they are walking up to the table.

Yeah. He's home for the summer from college
Jennie sighs, and places a hand on Taehyung's arm, squeezing reassuringly.

I really hope the two of you get along.
Jennie
Especially since we are officially moving in this weekend.
Jennie
You're going to be seeing a lot of each other
Taehyung
Don't worry about me, mom. Everything will be fine
Taehyung says trying to reassure Jennie even though he doesn't quite believe what he's saying.
Us fighting isn't exactly what Taehyung had in mind. No.

As Taehyung and Jennie arrive at the table, Kai stands and offers Jennie a kiss, while Jungkook remains seated.
His onyx black eyes pass over Taehyung disinterested, and he leans back to grab his drink and buries himself taking a sip.

Jungkook, you're being rude. Stand up and greet them properly.
Orders Kai as he nudges Jungkook's chair, which makes Jungkook grunt. So much for first impressions.
Taehyung makes a first attempt to introduce himself. He offers Jungkook his hand and watches with embarrassment
As Jungkook doesn't reach to shake it. A few seconds later, Taehyung drops his hand back down to his side and sits quietly in his seat.
Jennie and Kai join him in sitting. Taehyung contemplates calling out Jungkook on his bullshit.
As much as Taehyung wants to match Jungkook's fuçking arrogance, he doesn't want to piss off Jennie,
So it's probably best he keeps his mouth shut.

You'll have to excuse my son. College made him forget his manners
Kai says in an apologetic voice. Jungkook snickers, leaning back arrogantly in his chair while crossing his arms.

Taehyung says without thinking. Jennie gasps and furrows her brows to give Taehyung a stern look.
She quickly apologizes to Kai for Taehyung's outburst, who blows it off.
Taehyung hates how Jungkook's lips spread into a wide grin, and he narrows his eyes as if it's fun to provoke Taehyung.

The image Taehyung first had of him is gone and replaced by someone with a head so fûcking big it was no wonder
He could even get into the restaurant. He obviously doesn't even care for Jennie or Taehyung.

Let me get a few drinks in, and I'll even let you remove it
Jungkook fires back at Taehyung.

Taehyung lays his phone on the table, trying to focus on the dinner at hand,
But his mind keeps wandering back to Lisa's teasing words.
The waitress returns, asking Jennie and Taehyung what they'd like to drink, and Taehyung forces himself to pay attention,
Trying to play nice for his mother's sake. But he can't help sneaking glances at Jungkook,
Who seems to be enjoying Taehyung's discomfort. This dinner is already shaping up to be a long night.

My mom and Kai engage in small talk, leaving me and Jungkook to sit and stare at each other awkwardly.
He taps his fingers against his glass, then tilts it towards me, silently offering me a drink.
I stare temptingly at the glass, knowing I could sneak some in before my parents notice.
He starts to pull the drink away, but I quickly swipe for it. I bring the glass to my mouth and take a swig,
Gagging slightly on the burning, murky brown liquid as it claws its way down my throat.
Taehyung
That was fûcking gross.
I gently push the glass back towards him, stealing a glance at my mom to make sure she isn't watching.
Taehyung
Oh, thank god she didn't see. I hate embarrassing her.
Taehyung
She's always held me up on a pedestal.
Jungkook smirks, firming his lips contemplatively, a smug grin spreading across his face.
I cross my arms over my chest and meet his gaze with an annoyed expression of my own.
Taehyung
I think it's pathetic how easily impressed you are. Not a sign of high intelligence,
I snap back. Jungkook chuckles, his eyes glinting with amusement.
Taehyung
And you just feed into the bait,
He says, his voice dripping with sarcasm. My hands tighten into fists as I struggle to contain my frustration.
God, he is so infuriating! A fuçking instigator! I could punch him right now...
Taehyung
What's the matter?
Taehyung
Are you upset Daddy's got his attention on someone else?
I say in a mocking voice, nodding my head towards Kai. Jungkook's humorous expression dies down, replaced by seething anger.
jungkook
I could care less,
He says, his voice low and even.
jungkook
It's not like your mother's the first.
jungkook
She's just another name on a long list.
His words are like a slap in the face, and I feel my anger boil over.
