'I don't know whether am doing the right thing or not...I don't know if am running towards danger or safety..I really don't know.. if where am going to,... my life will be worse than it already is..I just hope that ..the heavens will give me a chance to rewrite my destiny..at least before I die, I'll get a chance to get my revenge'

One hour before

"Mom, this is the right time to finish this bit*h once and for all, Dad has gone on a business trip, we won't get another good opportunity than this one" the girl in a green dress uttered

"Don't worry, I know what to do" the woman in her forties said, with a mischievous smile on her, and soon they opened the door, and got in

Inside the room, was a girl in her early twenties, her long black hair messy, curled up her legs and hugged them tightly, at the corner of the room, the room was so dark and untidy

As soon as she realised their presence, she started to tremble, fear overwhelmed her

"Celine, don't scare your sister like that" hypocritical

"Mom, am not scaring her we're just having some fun" squating down holding her chin, she scoffed

"wh..what do you want from me?" the girl uttered, her voice trembling, showing how frightened she was, but she tried as much as she could to calm herself down

but she got a heavy slap, landing on her bruised left cheek, which was already purple, from the previous beating

she didn't react at all, as she was already used to it

 it's been ten years now since it all started, her own mother who was a legal wife of Edward Clarks, got killed by her father's mistress, Maria, who conspired with her illegitimate daughter Celine, after killing her mother, her father's mistress along with her illegitimate daughter, locked her in her room, for over ten years, saying that she was mentally unstable, and would cause a disgrace to the Clarks family

sadly enough, her father believed their lies, and agreed to it, under the pretence that they're doing this for her own good

since that day, life has been a living hell for her, getting beaten up by her step mother and step sister, locked inside her room, not allowed to go out for over ten years, her father whom she thought would be her only hope, ended up disappointing her

apart from her childhood friend Dylan, who helped her secretly

she had no one else to rely on, except for herself

"how dare you glare at me like that?" Celine uttered, while her mother sat on the bed elegantly

taking a whip, she started hitting her with it, with every whip she gave her, came out with flesh

her white gown, was reaped with every whip, now it was hard to tell if her gown was white or red

the pain was so much that she couldn't cry, only tears streamed down from her face

"today I'll kill you myself, go and say hi to your worthless mother" Celine wasn't planning on stopping, well not until she dies

but as she kept whipping her, there was a knock on the door

She stopped reluctantly, and went to open the door

"what is it?" she asked the maid

"Ma..Ma'am th..there "

"speak up already" she shouted

"there are thieves..they broke in" The maid said while trembling in fear

"what do you mean?"

"they've entered the house ..and our men are out numbered by them"

"what?, how can this be?!" Maria uttered

"they are outside, fighting with our men"

Hearing this shocking news, Celine along with her mother, rushed out in a hurry

The girl laying on the floor, barely struggled to get up, her white dress which was now red from the blood, barely covered her body

But all that didn't matter to her, now all her eyes were on the door, which was left open

A flash of hope crossed her eyes, she didn't believe it

Today the door was left open, for all these years, not even for a second has the door ever left open

but today, it was like God is giving her a chance, a chance to get out of this hell hole

the hole that, she has been putting up with, a hole she couldn't escape from, though she wanted so badly, but today that chance, was right in front of her

dragging her legs, she held herself with the remaining strength she had on her

with the help of the walls,

and finally, she got out of the room

Carefully looking out, for the house maids as they are also a threat to her, because as soon as they'll see her, they'll report her to their madam

so she carefully sneeked out, and today luck was on her side, she managed to get out of the house, using the back door

finally after so many years, which felt like eternity, she got out of the hell hole

tears fell from her eyes in disbelief

'am not dreaming, right?' she asked herself, as she recalled, how many times she dreamt of escaping here, and when she woke up, se had to bare the torment of disappointment

but today's dream felt so real, even the coldness of her tears were real

'if this is a dream, then I shall never wake up from it' the thoughts wondered in her mind, as she ran through the long yard

where she met a long road, but not a single vehicle on vision, it was so late, and on the road all alone, it was obviously dangerous

but she had no other choice, she can never go back there

The present

she kept running barefooted, the cruel cold wind of the night hitting her hard

without knowing where she was going, but one thing was for sure, that she'll never go back there

One the same road, there was a black car coming, cutting a corner she was close to, it almost hit her, but luckily it stopped on time, only few inches apart from her

"I said search for her everywhere, you must bring her here, I don't care if she's dead or alive, bring her back here, or else you are all dead, do you hear me?" Maria shouted, at the guards, her face red from anger

hearing her command, the trembling guards rushed out immediately

"Mom, what will we do if.. she goes to the police and reports us" Celine uttered in worry, but unexpectedly a heavy slap landed on her left cheek

which made her hold it in disbelief, "M..mom!"

"Shut up!" she shouted, her hand on Celine's neck, gripping her tightly "this is all your fault, why did you leave the door open?, you're the reason for this, so before things get even worse, make sure you find her, or else.." she didn't finish her sentence, but threw her aside, and left

Celine's face turned purple, "You b*tch, this is all your fault, I'll make you pay, once I lay my hands on you" she swore, with a devilish look, while holding her bruised cheek
