Rewriting the Script: From Villain to Main Character

Caught in the Clutches of Chaos

"For the past few days, I've noticed a rabbit that bolts every time it sees me, like I'm some predator about to gobble it up. Honestly, who do these animals think I am?"

The first thing that caught my eye as I re-entered the chemistry lab to grab my forgotten phone was the one and only male lead of this chaotic story—Damien. If I were following my gut, I'd have turned right back around and headed straight for the cafeteria, abandoning the phone altogether. But, alas, that phone was too important to leave behind.

It wasn't just any phone—it was a gift from Luca's parents for his 18th birthday. And as the current, albeit unwilling, tenant of Luca's body, I couldn't risk explaining to his parents what happened to their precious gift. And yes, you heard right—I'm the unfortunate soul now inhabiting Luca's body, and my name, by some cosmic joke, also happens to be Luca.

This whole situation is beyond insane, but here's the rundown: last week, I transmigrated into a werewolf novel—a clichéd mess I found while scrolling through random websites for school project material. I have no idea what kind of dark magic or twisted curse was tied to that story, but one thing's for sure: after finishing it and drifting off to sleep, I woke up smack dab in the middle of its plot. Welcome to the novel's world, where I am now trapped.

Now, don't get me wrong—I love reading about obsessive, possessive male leads doting on their tearful, delicate love interests. But living it? That's a nightmare I never signed up for! I'm here for the romantic flutters, not the heart palpitations that make me question my life choices.

Take now, for instance—my heart is practically doing acrobatics. This is beyond a joke; this is torture. I want to go home, back to my normal, drama-free life. Since the first day I was dragged into this nonsensical plot, I've discovered that I'm playing the role of a psycho. Yep, you heard that right—a psycho who's obsessed with the male lead to the point of wanting to murder his soulmate. Fun times, right?

"G-Give me back my phone." Seriously, could I sound any more pathetic? Get a grip, Luca. He's not going to eat you. Sure, he's a werewolf, but it's not like he's going to chow down on you in the middle of the school lab. Besides, you're a werewolf too, so if push comes to shove, you could... eat him back? Ugh, this logic is falling apart.

"Is this really your phone? Can I trust you?" His tone was so casual, I nearly lost it. Is he blind? Who else in this entire school would have a pink, glittery phone with flowery stickers all over it if not Luca—the original owner of this body?! And let's not forget the giant, sparkling name "Luca" plastered across the case like a neon sign.

"Believe it or not, that phone is—" Before I could snatch the phone from Damien's hand, which he was casually twirling around like it was some toy, he suddenly grabbed my wrist. The next thing I knew, I was yanked off my feet, crashing straight into his broad chest. I mean, seriously, what the actual hell?

The Wolf and the Furious Rabbit

"Oh, my bad! Your face looked so fierce, like a rabbit gearing up to take down a wolf. I thought you were about to slap me."

Ugh, I could just punch this guy right now. It doesn't matter if you're the main character or whatever. With every ounce of strength I had, I pushed Damien as hard as I could—only to see him not move an inch. Seriously, what's going on here?! I know the book said Damien was as strong as a gorilla, but Luca can't be this weak, right?

His arms tightened around my waist, making it impossible to ignore the fact that my heart was practically screaming in panic. It felt like it was going to burst out of my chest, and my face? Burning up like it was trying to compete with the sun. I'm so mad I could just explode!

"Relax. Take a deep breath. We can talk about this, no need to get all dramatic." He stared down at me with that infuriatingly calm expression, and the height difference between us couldn't have been more obvious. I mean, sure, I knew he was tall, but does Luca have to be this short? I barely even reach his armpit!

"Let go of me! Have you lost your mind?!" I didn't care if I sounded like a lunatic screaming in his face. If I'm supposed to be the psycho character, then why should I care what Damien thinks? The priority right now is to free myself from his grip, grab my phone, and put at least a three-kilometer buffer between me and this walking disaster.

"Don't cry. I was just messing with you." Huh? Who's crying—? Oh, no. My vision's going blurry. Am I really crying?! No way, I can't be crying!

"Here," suddenly, his laid-back tone disappeared, replaced by something almost... concerned? But before I could overthink it, I felt my body being lifted off the ground and placed on the desk like I was some kind of fragile antique. Did this guy seriously just pick me up and plop me on the desk? What does he think I am, a piece of furniture?

He grabbed my now ice-cold hands and slipped my phone into them. Any tears that had been threatening to spill instantly dried up when he wiped them away. My face, already flushed, felt like it was about to combust, and every vein in my body seemed on the verge of bursting.

"Next time, don't run away when you see me. A wolf's eyes can track every move of the rabbit it's after."

Are you kidding me? Who does he think he is? "D-Didn't know someone your age was still into children's bedtime stories. Why don't you join the kindergarteners if you're so keen on talking about rabbits and wolves?"

I muttered under my breath, trying to jump off the desk without falling flat on my face. I wanted to scream at him, but my voice just wasn't cooperating. Ugh, forget it, I'm out of here. I don't need to see his smug face any longer. But why do I feel like crying again? Before my vision could blur with tears, I made a quick exit from the lab, not daring to look back even once.

Dodging Fate in Pink Pyjamas

In this novel, every single character is a werewolf. But don't get too excited—there's no running wild in the woods or dramatic howling at the moon. Nope, these werewolves look just like regular humans. The only real difference is their secondary gender: Alpha, Beta, or Omega.

And as expected, our main character is an Omega—naturally, the destined sweetheart of the resident troublemaker, Damien. Luca (the body I'm currently stuck in) just happens to be best friends with this Omega, Alex. They met during school registration last year. The novel's plot goes something like this: Alex, a kid from the next town over, moves here because his dad gets a job transfer.

"Luca, are you sure you don't want to go to the library?" Alex asks me for what feels like the hundredth time. I've already told him no so many times, but he keeps at it. I'm annoyed, but then I look at his face and... ugh, my resolve crumbles. He really is just as beautiful as the author described.

Blonde hair, blue eyes, a face so innocent it could melt ice—and far too trusting for his own good. This is exactly why he's so easy to manipulate, especially by the real Luca. To be fair, Luca's no slouch in the looks department either—almost on par with Alex, but with a bolder, sexier edge. Maybe it's the pink hair that screams "look at me!" from a mile away. And don't get me started on Luca's wardrobe: tight, short, pink, floral... basically, the kind of clothes that would make a Barbie doll blush.

The first thing I did after landing in this book was go shopping. I bought the baggiest, least pink clothes I could find, along with regular pants. I still remember the look on everyone's faces when they saw what I was wearing. It probably looked downright bizarre for Luca—a werewolf with a reputation for flamboyance—to suddenly dress like a background character.

"Nope, not happening. You go ahead. I'll wait right here." There's no way I'm stepping foot in that library. Today, right this minute, is when the whole romance between Damien and Alex is supposed to kick off. Alex is supposed to accidentally bump into Damien, and Damien falls head over heels on the spot.

According to the book, Luca isn't supposed to be with Alex when it happens. Alex is meant to gush about Damien to Luca afterward. Luca knows Damien, sure, but at that point, he hasn't made any moves on him yet. And I intend to keep it that way. My plan is simple: watch from a safe distance and slowly, very slowly, fade out of their lives altogether.

It's a foolproof strategy because, later in the story, Damien goes on a rampage after Luca tries to poison Alex's food. Spoiler alert: it doesn't end well for Luca. And let me tell you, I have zero intention of being on the receiving end of Damien's wrath.

So, while Alex heads into the library, blissfully unaware of the chaos about to unfold, I'll be here, keeping my distance and plotting my escape. Because if there's one thing I've learned from being stuck in this ridiculous novel, it's that self-preservation is key. Let the main characters have their drama—I'm just trying to make it out of here alive.
