Episode 1

Here is the first episode of this story
The sound of shattered glass rang through the air like a gunshot, freezing me in place. My father's voice followed, a low rumble of barely-contained fury.
I took a deep breath, steeling myself against the oncoming storm. My hand trembled as I turned the doorknob, pushing open the door to the living room. Shards of broken glass littered the floor, remnants of what used to be a vase. My mother stood off to the side, her arms crossed, face impassive.
Katarina Garcia, my mother, was always the same. Cold. Detached. She never lifted a finger against me, but she never stopped my father either. She watched everything unfold with the same distant gaze, as if it were happening to someone else.
My father, Jose Garcia, loomed over me, his dark eyes blazing with anger.
Jose
Look what you did, you clumsy idiot!
He took a step closer, and I instinctively flinched.
Jose
You're always causing trouble.
I mumbled, my voice barely above a whisper.
Jose
Sorry doesn't fix anything.
His hand shot out, grabbing my arm in a vice-like grip. I winced but didn't make a sound. I learned long ago that making noise only made things worse.
He ordered, shoving me towards the broken vase. I stumbled but managed to stay on my feet, crouching down to pick up the pieces. My fingers shook, and I could feel my father's gaze burning into my back.
My brother, Marco, stood in the doorway, watching with an expression that was almost sorrowful. But he didn't move to help. He never did. I didn't blame him. Not really. He was just as trapped as I was, in his own way.
I worked quickly, my mind numb, focusing on the task at hand. Anything to distract myself from the reality of my situation. I could feel the weight of their expectations pressing down on me, the constant reminder that I would never be good enough.
As I swept up the last of the glass, my father sighed, a sound filled with disgust.
He muttered, turning away. My mother followed him out of the room without a word.
I was left alone in the aftermath, the silence oppressive. I stood up slowly, my knees aching. Marco had disappeared too, slipping away quietly as he always did.
I made my way to my room, closing the door behind me. It wasn't much of a refuge, but it was the only place I could be alone. I sank down on the bed, wrapping my arms around myself. The tears came then, silent and unstoppable.
I knew I couldn't stay here forever. I had to get out. But for now, all I could do was endure. One day, I promised myself. One day, I'll be free.
For now, I was trapped in this house of broken dreams and unspoken sorrows. But I still had hope. And sometimes, that was enough to keep me going.
Episode 2 Echoes of Silence
Autor
I apologize for not posting. I have been busy with posting Sakuatsu fanfictions on the app called Chatie.
Autor
I'll try posting regularly on both apps from now on.
The quiet in my room was both a comfort and a curse. As the echoes of my parents' harsh words faded, I allowed myself a moment to breathe. Tears still wet on my cheeks, I wiped them away with the back of my hand. My heart ached, not just from the pain of their words but from the deeper wound of their indifference.
A soft knock on the door startled me. I didn't answer, hoping whoever it was would just go away. But the door creaked open, and Marco's face appeared, shadowed and uncertain. He lingered in the doorway, looking as if he might step back at any moment.
He said softly, barely more than a whisper. His eyes darted around the room before finally settling on me.
Marco stepped inside, closing the door gently behind him. He stood there for a moment, awkward and unsure. He didn't know what to say. He never did.
Marco
I heard and saw what happened.
He started, and I could hear the strain in his voice.
Marco
I... I'm sorry, Miles.
I forced a small smile, though it felt brittle.
Miles
It's not your fault.
He trailed off, his eyes dropping to the floor.
Marco
I should have done something.
I said, the words slipping out before I could stop them. The bitterness in my tone surprised even me.
Miles
You always just watch.
Marco flinched, and guilt gnawed at me for speaking so harshly. But I couldn't take it back. It was the truth.
He admitted, his voice barely audible.
Marco
You know what Dad's like. If I try to stand up to him...
I interrupted, my anger deflating.
Miles
I know, Marco. We're both stuck here.
He took a tentative step closer, his eyes pleading for understanding.
Marco
I wish things were different.
I whispered, feeling the weight of our shared helplessness.
We stood there in silence, the air thick with unspoken words. Despite everything, Marco was still my brother. The bond between us was strained, but it wasn't completely broken.
Finally, Marco sat down on the edge of my bed. He reached out, hesitating for a moment before placing a hand on my shoulder. It was a small gesture, but it was something.
Marco
We'll get out of here someday.
He said, trying to sound hopeful.
Marco
Things will get better.
I wanted to believe him. I needed to believe him.
For now, we had to endure. But having Marco beside me, even in this small way, made the burden a little easier to bear. We were both trapped, but at least we weren't completely alone.
We sat there together in the dim light, sharing the silence. And for a moment, the weight of our reality felt just a little bit lighter.
