Living the Y/N Life

The obsessive fans

Olivia! Have you heard Jiminshi's new solo?"

Olivia turned her head back hearing the squeals of Nora, her high school bestie. Nora's face is looking all exited as she runs toward Olivia carrying her half closed backpack. 'Who are you asking girl? I probably heard it before you could,' Olivia replied with a grin. 'Well you are even more obsessive than I am, so I guess you are telling the truth,' Nora giggled,' But someday I'll beat you and surprise you by listening to the new songs before you.

Both of them approached towards the classroom while doing chit-chat about the freshly released solo of their sweet baby mochi.

As they entered the classroom they saw a bit of commotion inside the class. A few students gathered at a corner where the 'crazy fangirl' Kirin is crying hysterically in her seat while her bestie Nina is trying to calm her down.

'How could he?' Kirin exclaimed while sobbing on Nina's shoulder. 'Aww baby don't cry. It was just a dance, not like they are dating, why are you crying this much? Your eyes would get puffy if you cry anymore,' Nina patted Kirin's shoulder. 'Just a dance!', girls standing near Kirin jumped out at her shouting, only Nina remained unfazed as she is already accustomed to Kirin randomly throwing fits. ' He could have danced like other idols do, why did he have to be this close for the dance?' Kirin barked at Nina.

Olivia sat down on her seat while placing her backpack on the desk. Nora went near the small crowd for a bit and returned with a sour expression to seat beside Olivia and then made a funny face and imitated Kirin saying' How could he?' Both the girls laughed out and then Olivia asked what was actually happening. ' Ahh, the bish is crying over Jiminshi's dance on the new solo with the female performer,' answered Nora. ' The dance was sensual indeed, no wonder she is reacting like that,' Olivia said. 'Still, she is being way too dramatic about it. I bet she doesn't love Jiminshi as much as you do but look how she is acting as if she is Jiminshi's wife and Jiminshi cheated on her, while you are perfectly calm and composed,' Nora argued. Then she brought her face near Olivia's and playfully asked with a smirk,' Or am I wrong? Are you actually burning inside and acting to be calm?' ' Well not that I didn't get a bit jealous of that female dancer, but I couldn't deny that the dance was so perfect, and she looked better with Jiminshi than I would do,' Olivia blushed and retreated her face.' Besides, I don't like to obsess that much which would be a hindrance to my idol's success,' Olivia added. ' If I get jealous of such performances and start hating my idol and spread hatred about them, it wouldn't do any good to my idols. Jealousy isn't always a proof of love'. ' Stop, stop, professor Olivia, my ears are starting to hurt because of your lecture. I got the gist -all I have to do is be obsessive about meeting my idol but not get too much obsessive as to stop them from interacting with other girls. Am I right, miss Olivia?' Nora said while covering her ears from Olivia's lecture.' Yes, you are right, you learned your lesson apprentice Nora,' Olivia replied with a smile.

Suddenly the whole class started to rustle as the teacher approached towards the door. All the girls that were gathering beside Kirin and Nina went back to their seats. Kirin also composed herself while wiping her non-existent tears from her face.

Advantage of a truefan

As the English teacher miss Cordelia entered the classroom students greeted her loudly. Miss Cordelia is a young woman in her late twenties with bright large eyes and an attractive slim built. She is engaged to the history teacher Mr. Andrews. It is rumored that ms. Cordelia is a secret kpop fan and doesn't talk much about her fascination about kpop culture but enjoys listening to kpop songs with her headset when she's on break during school. Once some students heard kpop song from her office when they were passing by as her headset was accidentally disconnected, and she hurriedly turned the volume down. The students spread that news to others and soon the whole school knew about this and many students secretly laughed at the matter as most of the teachers shows their dislike about kpop whenever the topic is brought about. However, none of the student ever brought this matter in front of the teachers including ms. Cordelia.

As ms. Cordelia proceeded with her lesson she suddenly noticed that Kirin was whispering something in Nina's ear. 'Kirin, what are you whispering about?' ms. Cordelia asked Kirin as she gestured toward her to stand up. Kirin got flustered and stood up,' Ah, I was talking with Nina about the lesson you were discussing, ms. Cordelia.' 'Well, just now I was discussing some less used vocabulary. Kirin seems to be interested much in vocabulary. So Kirin, could you tell us what the word 'serendipity' means, and how may we use it?' ms. Cordelia asked.

Kirin went pale as she didn't know what serendipity meant. After half a minute of silence ms. Cordelia asked,' Who else can answer the question?' Olivia raised her hand instantly. ' Okay Olivia, tell us the answer,' ms. Cordelia fixed her eyes on Olivia. ' Serendipity is a noun the meaning of which is- ' An aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident,' it's a type of fluke. Good fortune or a stroke of luck can be used as synonyms for this. We could use the word when we find something good without looking for them or in cases of unexpected good luck. For example, we could see the use of this word in the sentence- ''Alexander Fleming's discovery of penicillin is a cited example of a serendipity,'' Olivia concluded her answer.

A smile formed on ms. Cordelia's lips,' Now that's what we call a studious student, everyone let's give a round of applause for Olivia.' The whole class cheered for Olivia while Kirin's face turned red.

' Now Kirin,' ms. Cordelia fixed her gaze on Kirin,' Did you get it that if you are interested about some topic, gossiping in the class wouldn't help you, rather you should focus on the lecture and study at home more about your topic of interest like Olivia does. If you don't understand any topic you should ask me, or you could even meet me at my office after the class, but you should never whisper on someone's ear during the class, no matter what the topic is. Do you get it? ' Yes, ms.Cordelia,' Kirin answered as she held her head low and sat down at ms. Cordelia's gesture. Her expression turned dark as she shot her burning eyes at Olivia who is already focused on ms. Cordelia's lecture and has no time to pay attention towards her.

After the class Nora looked at Olivia with a big smile , 'Yo, Olivia how did you answered the question so well? I didn't even know what that word actually meant and I'm pretty sure none of the other students knew it either.' 'Seriously?' Olivia furrowed her brows at Nora,' Didn't you heard Jiminshi's 'Serendipity'? It isn't even new.' 'I did hear the song but who the h*ck goes to search what that word meant. I heard the melody and enjoyed it but as for the topper, huh,' Nora put her hand on her temple dramatically,' You even see kpop music as study materials.' Olivia laughed at Nora's expression as she prepared for the next class.

The way life used to be

Olivia is the topper in their class. But this wasn't always the case. In fact, she was just a measly backbencher three years ago who had no ambition in life. She would come to the school everyday just to find a lonely corner of the classroom and spend the time sitting there silently and leave after school was over. She had no friends, no one would approach her to be her friend either. Furthermore, she's always been an introverted girl so no one approaching her made her happy and her school life easier. Back then she just somehow survived school by keeping 40-50 percent marks on each subject.

Things changed as Asin, a cheerful extroverted girl, got transferred to this school.

She was always on high spirit and could blend in with anyone. Her merry presence on the room could make everyone light up. It didn't take much for Asin to notice the girl sitting at the corner and leaving quietly after the class. Soon Asin approached Olivia and it didn't take much for Olivia to take a liking on Asin as she was the type that no one could ignore. As the year was passing their friendship grew and they gradually turned into each others best friend. It was Asin who introduced Olivia with the world of kpop. Well, not just olivia, the whole kpop craze in this school was Asin's doing. Bringing mobile phone in the school is strictly prohibited in the rules but Asin cared little about rules and regulations. She would secretly bring mobile in the school and share her favourite songs with Olivia and her other friends. Asin bringing phone in school became a regular thing and soon many other started to follow her. Olivia didn't have a phone back then. She would stick in with Asin during breaks and Asin showed all her favourite bands and a lot of other things to her. Olivia never had any interest in men, neither did she cared about her looks. But after watching the dazzling kpop idols she started to be aware of her own appearance and started to dream about a perfect life with a handsome looking life partner. But she still couldn't like any of the guys around her. After she became a bit active and conscious about her looks, many of the boys in her school started to notice her. Some even gathered up the courage to propose to her but she refused all of them. In her teenage mind, the life partner she dreamt of wasn't the type of boys that was around her. Kpop idols already had a deep impact on her view of men and she decided that if she got married some day, she would definitly marry someone similar to the kpop idols if not already a kpop idol.

Dreams about a perfect life in S.Koreaa with her idol-like husband got deeply ingrained in her thoughts. She knew that the way she was back then would never let her realise her dream. If she wanted to achieve her goal she had to change her life first. A smartphone seemed to be an amazing gadget in knowing more about kpop and S.Koreaa, which would help her to know how she actually had to change her life to achieve the goal. But getting a smartphone wasn't easy. Her reputation in her family was much worse back then because of her poor result and some other related things. When she finally gathered up the courage to ask for a phone during having dinner with her family it stirred up quiet a large commotion. Both her father and mother was strongly against buying a phone for the middle schooler not to mention a student like Olivia who barely managed to pass the classes.

But her elder brother Jean helped her out. As Jean was more favored to her parents from the beginning they didn't refuse Jean's proposal. And agreed on Olivia owning a phone during her middleschool.

Jean proposed that if Olivia could manage to rank in the top five in her class, he would buy a phone for her with his part time earnings.
