The Omega of the Dragon

Episode 1

This is the story of a beautiful romance, a cute young woman who was chosen as the dragon's wife. In the kingdom of Drinel, every 10 years they offer a young woman as a sacrifice to the dragon so that he will protect their kingdom from demons, wild beings that attack to devour human souls. So, a virgin maiden must be sacrificed, she is handed over to the dragon, and he consumes her mana and in return, he protects them. As the story begins, young Alison is chosen to be the sacrifice. She, already accepting her fate and afraid, gets lost in the forest, where she saves an attractive boy who turns out to be the prince of the kingdom. He, captivated by young Alison, decides to save her, so he proposes marriage and asks her to marry him in secret. That way, the dragon can take her away. Alison, who had also fallen in love with the prince, accepts his proposal.

Of course, when the king and queen find out about this madness, they try to separate the young couple, even asking their son to retract the marriage. Since there is no sacrifice, the dragon could become enraged and destroy their kingdom. Alison's family, not wanting to lose their daughter and knowing that she has married the prince, propose a solution: give another sacrifice to the dragon. They give the king and queen their second child, a beautiful young man with pink hair and beautiful yellow eyes, whose mana is greater than Alison's. However, the king and queen think that the dragon might get angry if they give him a boy.

"Don't worry, your Majesties, Beryl is an omega. The dragon won't care. Years ago, an omega was already given as a sacrifice," says Alison's father.

When the king and queen hear such great news, they accept and Beryl is left in the palace, where the queen orders him locked in a room so that no one touches him and he does not escape. Beryl was the bastard son of the count, Alison's father, a son born from his affair with a maid from his mansion. So, they didn't care about handing him over, if by doing so, their daughter would be saved and also Alison could be queen in the future and they would have greater prestige.

Beryl, for his part, since he was born, has grown up despised by his father and by the countess, who hated him for being the fruit of her husband's affair with a simple maid. Beryl grew up a timid child, obeying everything that was asked of him, hoping to thus gain a little of his father's affection, but it never happened and when the time came, the dragon took him away.

Alison and the prince continued to live out their romance, until one night, Alison learns that Beryl was given to the dragon and that, furthermore, he was her half-brother. Faced with this, Alison decides to cut ties with her family, because she was furious. She couldn't believe that her parents would do such an atrocity, and all for ambition. Determined to take revenge for Beryl, Alison decides to find the dragon and defeat him so that no one else ever has to be sacrificed, despite the fact that the king and queen warn her not to disturb the dragon. The prince accompanies Alison, finding the dragon in a castle in the mountains. There, Alison confronts him with the help of the prince and together they manage to kill the dragon.

But, the consequences of this lead to the kingdom being attacked by demons, so Alison and the prince try to find a solution. This being, to use the dragon's core to create a barrier in the kingdom. The core is placed in a hall of the kingdom's palace, where a spell is recited, thus creating a barrier that prevents demons from entering the kingdom. Alison and the prince are seen as heroes and get their happy ending.

"What a stupid ending, 'heroes?' They were the ones who caused the kingdom's woes," Amir thought after finishing that book.

But Amir never thought he would end up in that story he hated so much, and worst of all, he would wake up in the body of that omega whose life was miserable and ended up being a sacrifice.

And now, there he was, looking at himself in the river. His face was a bit dirty, but that didn't stop him from being cute. He had beautiful yellow eyes and pink hair.

《I'm a piece of gum.》 he thought to himself.

He let out a sigh, he still couldn't believe that he would end up in that place, let alone in a character whose ending was tragic. But no, that ending will not be like that. He is willing to change everything, he will not be a sacrifice, he will run far away and no one will know where to find him.

And so, his escape plan failed. Just as he was leaving that house where they treated him worse than a dog, the family knights caught him. The maids bathed him and put clean clothes on him. And now, there he was, locked in a room in the palace, for tomorrow would be the day of the sacrifice. His plan to escape had failed.

"Get me out of here, you damn motherfuckers! You're taking advantage of the fact that I'm skinny and short, but you'll see, I'm going to claw your eyes out."

He yelled and hit the door with a chair. He was like that for hours, until finally they brought him dinner and he calmed down, although while he ate, he cried, because this could be his last supper.

"Damn you." he sobbed. "Don't think I forgave you. You giving me food doesn't stop me from cursing you. You're all assholes." he yelled.

After eating, he wanted to escape through the window, but when he looked, he was in the highest tower and without a doubt, jumping from there was not a good idea, because he would not break one bone, he would break them all. Now there was only one option left, to beg the dragon not to eat him. Maybe if he cries, he'll take pity on him. That's what the protagonists of the novels do and they fall in love with them, right? If he does the same, maybe the dragon will fall in love and they'll get married and have pink little dragons.

Episode 2

It's been two days locked in that room, and although he has tried to escape, he is always caught and dragged back. He even attempted to say that he was no longer a virgin, but an old, strange woman entered the room, pulled down his trousers, turned him around, and practically looked into his soul.

After that, the queen came to tell him that they know he is still a virgin, so he cannot escape being the sacrifice. Moreover, she gave him a lecture saying it was a great honor to be the dragon's wife because he would save the entire kingdom and be remembered forever. As if! They probably wouldn't even remember what the previous sacrifice was called. Finally, several maidens came to the room to bathe him, style his hair, and dress him in an elegant white suit; they also placed a veil on him to take him out of the room.

"Don't try to escape. The guards will catch you, and your attempt will only ruin the clothes," the queen scolded him.

"Like they were made of fine fabric. But what can you expect from a woman who knows nothing about fashion? That dress makes you look older," he replied.

Upon hearing the omega's words, the queen raised her hand ready to slap him, but her maidens stopped her, for she could not harm the sacrifice. Beryl took the opportunity to stick his tongue out at her, but the maidens quickly took him away. The ceremony would take place at the top of the cliff, where the dragon would come for his new wife. At that location, there was an altar, and the temple priest began reciting a speech about the importance of the dragon's wife and how the sacrifice of the chosen one is the greatest honor that can be given to someone in the kingdom.

"Then let you be the sacrifice, you old, fat virgin," Beryl interrupted.

"How dare you? Don’t let him speak, the ceremony must not be interrupted," the queen ordered.

The priest continued with his speech, but Beryl made gestures directed at him, who was already getting irritated; everyone present was nervous about the pink-haired one's disrespect. Just as a shadow loomed over the place, everyone stepped back, which Beryl took as an opportunity to run away from the cliff.

“Sacrifice your grandmother, idiots!” Beryl shouted.

He ran toward the forest, and the king ordered his knights to go after Beryl; everyone was frightened about the consequences that escape could bring them. Beryl managed to reach the forest, noticing that the knights were still on his trail while he tried to remember if he had any kind of magic that could help him.

“Cursed be the day I ended up in a weak body!” he yelled in frustration.

Beryl ran, successfully losing the guards, which allowed him to let out a sigh, so he walked slowly, trying to see that no one was following him. But suddenly he felt himself lifted from the ground, while his body was ensnared in red claws, and when he looked up, it was the dragon carrying him. His escape had been in vain; he was captured again, this time by the dragon that would surely eat him.

[This is the first time the bride has fled.] The dragon spoke.

“Eh?” He looked up.

The dragon was looking down, observing that small creature with pink hair, and by its scent, it knew that it was an omega.

“If you are going to be the sacrifice for a dragon to devour, I think it would be quite normal to run away,” it commented.

[No one has attempted it. All sacrifices simply wait to be taken by me.]

“Actually, I don't think that's true. If they don’t flee, it's because they’re paralyzed by fear; that's normal,” he shrugged.

Who wouldn’t be paralyzed if they were being handed over as food for a dragon? He too would have frozen in place; in fact, perhaps he wet himself when he found himself in the dragon's claw. After flying for nearly an hour, the dragon arrived at a castle that looked ancient, perhaps abandoned, but upon landing, the dragon released him, letting him roll onto the grass while it observed its claw.

[What is this smell?] It wrinkled its nose.

“Uh... I’m just very easily frightened,” he justified himself.

A couple of maidens approached where Beryl was and helped him get up.

— We regret the rough treatment, Your Highness. Come, we will take you to get changed, — the maid explains.

— Change? For what? Surely my magic will be drained and I’ll end up like dried meat, — he complains.

[How brave you are to say that in front of me.]

— I’m just saying what it is. That’s why you brought me here, right? I’m just your food, — he brings his hands to his face and starts to sob. — I couldn’t even have my first kiss.

The dragon merely rolls his eyes in annoyance and gestures to the head maid, who requests the boy to stand up, but he simply curls up, hugging his knees, and continues to cry. The head maid asks her companion to help her, and together they make Beryl stand and lead him into the castle, even though he keeps crying. They guide him to a room where more maidens remove his clothes, put him in a tub, bathe him, and later, once he is dressed in a robe, the head maid combs his hair. Afterward, they bring him dinner, and even while he’s still sobbing, he eats everything. By the end of the day, Beryl is in bed, well tucked in and ready to sleep. It is already past midnight when he opens his eyes in surprise.

— But what... I’m still alive? — he sits up. — What happened? Isn’t the dragon supposed to drain the mana... what is going on?

Beryl was quite confused.

Episode 3

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t sleep and didn’t understand what was happening. So, she got up and carefully left the room; it was still early morning and it seemed there weren’t even guards around, which was perfect for escaping. She made her way through the hallways until she finally reached the kitchen, where she spotted a door leading to the back of the castle. Exiting cautiously, she ran until she arrived at the walls, which were tall, making them difficult to climb, especially with her weak body. She searched for a tree, but it was too far away, so she tried to climb the vines instead. Luckily, they were sturdy; she climbed, but when she reached the top, there was only darkness, barely able to make out the trees in the forest.

"If you leave, the demons will take your soul, little pink rat."

Beryl felt a chill at the sound of that deep voice, laced with a hint of sensuality. Turning around, she could barely see a tall, seemingly attractive man standing on the wall, his eyes glowing in the darkness.

Beryl crawled back in fright but slipped and fell from the wall, letting out a scream like a young girl. Just when she thought she would break her soul, she felt herself afloat, realizing she was nearly hovering before she landed gently on the grass. The palace guards grabbed her by the arms and dragged her back inside.

"Let me go, you thugs... I won’t become dragon food, I’m too young and beautiful... and I don’t think he would like chewing gum, my flavor is bitter" she shouted as she kicked and flailed.

In the end, she was locked in the room and continued to scream until she curled up on the carpet and fell asleep. In the morning, someone knocked, and still drowsy, she granted permission for them to enter, seeing it was the head maid, who introduced herself as Rina, the head of the maidservants, and that the lord of the castle asked her to take care of Beryl and explain everything, which left Beryl confused.

Rina told her that she, like Beryl, was one of the girls offered as a sacrifice, that was twenty years ago, and since then, she had lived in the castle as a maid. Rina explained that the dragon did not kill them as said in the kingdom; he simply brought them to the castle and gave them two options, to leave or to stay and work there. Some had chosen to leave, so the dragon provided them with gold and took them to a place where they could live in peace and start a business to help them survive.

"Wait, if he doesn’t kill them, why ask for a sacrifice? Isn’t that illogical?" she crossed her arms.

"His majesty has never asked for anything; it is something the kingdom invented. The temple said that for protection, a sacrifice was necessary..." Rina lowered her gaze.

She continued recounting that the first time, over a hundred years ago, to offer the sacrifice, the dragon saw the chosen young girl being killed at the castle gates. The priest declared that the blood of the virgin was for the dragon, as they asked for his protection. However, seeing that it didn't work and they received no response, more girls were brought, and just before they were to be killed, the dragon stopped them, stating that he would not protect a kingdom that shed the blood of innocent young girls and that he would even burn the village if needed. The priest begged for forgiveness, pleading for their protection.

The dragon ignored them and walked away. Soon after, a servant of the dragon informed her that those young women who weren’t sacrificed were sold into slavery, and nearly all had perished at the hands of their buyers. Moreover, the temple was already planning to sacrifice more virgin women, this time in the forest, so the demons would take their souls and not attack their kingdom. The worst part was that the king agreed with this plan.

After learning this, the dragon arrived at the cliff where the young women were about to be killed and ordered them to stop, thus saving the girls and taking them with him. But that was not the end; the temple attempted the sacrifice again, desperate as they could not defend themselves against the demons. So the dragon proposed a deal: to hand over a young virgin to consume her mana and protect them from the demons. Thus, every ten years, a young woman is delivered to the dragon, but he, as he said before, either lets them go or they become part of the palace staff.

"That temple just looks for any excuse to make sacrifices"he murmurs.

Though he was shocked to learn the truth behind the sacrifices, something that was never mentioned in the history, the inept protagonists killed an innocent being.

"So, you will be free to leave or stay. The master will return soon, and then you can inform him of your decision. In the meantime, you may use everything in this castle"Rina informs.

"Everything? Is there gold?"he rubs his hands like a fly.

"The gold is not at your disposal; I mean food, clothing, and other things"Rina replies.

"Oh no, what a joke. Well then, can I go out for a walk?"he asks.

"Yes, just do not leave the walls; the demons roam the forest. A maid will accompany you"

Rina calls a girl a little younger than herself, who introduces herself as Angela. Beryl greets her and leaves the room to explore the place; it was quite a large castle, and he felt that if he wanted to explore the entire building, it would take at least a week. Angela guides him to the garden, which was quite beautiful, hardly seeming to be in the middle of the forest.
