Fairytales, these were nothing but childish stories to me. This was all before I met him, Cole Moreland.
"Oh my God! Zahra have you seen the new guy? He's so hot." Alice turned my head forcing me to look at a guy standing at the door. He had neck length black hair, an enchanted kind of green eyes, he had bristly eyebrows that made him look more masculine, he was tall with a fit body.
The teacher, Mrs Voldemort asked him to introduce himself, but instead of speaking, he grabs a marker pen from the teacher's desk and wrote "Cole" then he headed to the back of the classroom and sat on an empty desk. "Talk about rude" Alice and Sierra turn to me. "What do you think about him?" Sierra asked me.
"Who me?" I asked. She rolled her eyes "Who else smart-ass?" she said. "I don't know" I said. Which was all honesty but she didn't take any of it. I didn't really think much about him. He just seemed like another egoistic guy; just like the rest.
The first lessons went by quick and it was lunch break. "Hey Zahra, let's go talk to the new guy" Alice said. "Don't wanna" I said as I lay my head on my desk. "You're joking right?" she asked again. "Yeah. I need my rest you can go if you want" I waved my hand. "You sure? You're gonna miss out" Alice asked to confirm.
"Give her a break Alice she already said no. Leave her be" Sierra interrupted her. After that, the two left and I was left alone. There was a lot of noise coming from the back and this prevented me from resting well. The thing was, this "Cole" guy was barely talking I honestly wondered why they were wasting their energy on someone who didn't even care. Well it was their loss not his.
After lessons that evening, it was my duty to clean up the classroom. I sometimes kinda liked this work cause I got to be alone for. a short while, I could breathe the fresh air from outside admire the flowers without anyone disturbing me
When I walked inside the classroom, a huge gush of wind hit my face. I looked around the classroom and I saw someone standing by the window. "Excuse me?" I called out. He didn't move. "Hello" I called out again. The person slowly turned away from the window and turned towards me. Enchanting green eyes met my and I felt myself shiver.
We silently stared at each other just before he walked away from his window to his desk and he walked past me as if I wasn't there. "Rude" I muttered. He didn't stop walking. Those were clear signs of an ego filled guy who thinks he rules the world and everyone in it. "I'll stay away from him for my own safety" I thought to myself as I closed the window.
School was going on pretty well that was all until Mrs Voldemort began assigning us assignments that were required to be done in groups of two " groups she made" Which were the worst in my opinion. It's like she was looking for our polar opposite and putting us together.
"Alex isn't a bad partner" Sierra turned to me. "Who's your partner?" she asked. I wasn't sure whether I was mad or annoyed because of the partner I got or by the teacher. "What's with you?" she looked at me then sighed "I wonder who got Cole as their partner"
I don't know why but even the name Cole agitated me. "Now class I would like you all to sit with your partners. The partners that I assigned to you" Mrs Voldemort emphasised.
"You look annoyed what's up?Did daddy refuse to buy you a purse?" Alice turned to me. "No.He got me more that I need" I said. 'Not to brag or anything' Sometimes I wondered why and how these two were my friends.
Everyone began moving from their desks to others but I just sat there. I turned to look at Cole and he too was sitted. There was no way I was going to leave my chair and head over to where he was sitted. The thing is, he wasn't moving. " Miss Wehmeir and Mr Moreland kindly begin your work" Mrs Voldemort called out. At this point, I had to swallow my ego and walk over to his desk.

Changing schools is one of the worst experiences. People start surrounding you. Trying to assess whether you're a suitable friend or not, whether you're rich or not, and whether you're usable or not. And if you don't meet their standards, they leave you like some pile of shit on the side of the road.
When I entered the classroom, this weird feeling came over me. Almost everyone in class seemed interested apart from one girl who sat by the window. She was looking at something outside then someone got her to look at me. She
seemed disinterested that was until our eyes met. She looked at me and she didn't stop. The contact was broken when the teacher asked me to introduce myself.
I hate attention. I took a marker pen and wrote my name 'Cole' on the board and I headed to the back and sat down.
Classes went by well and the day was all good before lunch break. Almost half the class was surrounding me both guys and girls all asking different questions. Which I answered a few not telling them anything about myself and family. It's non of their business.
After classes, everyone left the classroom. A gush of wind hit me and I walked over to the window to close it. But before I did, I saw trees, beautifully coloured some with flowers and some without. There was one tree that stood out the most it was a tree that had withered and it stood in the middle of all the other trees.
"Hello" a voice called out from the back. I turned to see who it was. Our eyes met just like earlier and once more I broke the contact and left. I heard her mutter something but I didn't stop to hear what she had to say.
Many were the times this Zahra girl and I collided. Then she was assigned as my partner by Mrs Voldemort. She asked everyone to reallocate and sit with their partner. There was no way I was going to leave my seat. She would either have to swallow her pride and come or she can also refuse to come it was up to her.
She decided to come that was after the teacher asked her to. After settling, the teacher began handing out papers and asked everyone to do research on the work then submit it in after a week.
*********
After Mrs Voldemort was done handing out the papers, the bell rung. "And by the way class. The marks you get in this work will add up to your final grade so you better be serious with it" Mrs Voldemort said as she walked out the door. This only meant that I had to use my free time in order to complete the work. "Are you busy during lunch hour?" I asked Cole. "Why?" he asked. "Uhh we need to complete this work" I rolled my eyes.
"Let's do it another time. I'm busy over lunch hour" he said. I must admit, he had a very soothing voice. If only the words that came along with the voice were half as nice. "Fine then when should we do this work?" I asked. "After classes" he said as he sat back. "I can't" I said. I had to go to some gathering with my mother after school and I didn't want to be late.
"Fine then have it your way" he shrugged. I wanted this work done as soon as possible. I didn't like the idea of having to revisit the work later so I had to sacrifice a few minutes after class. "Fine. But we have to be quick" I said as I stood up. He didn't say anything. I walked away.
After classes, I packed up my belongings and walked over to Cole's desk. "I'm surprised you've come" He said still looking at his book. "Well I don't know what you were expecting but I don't break my promises. Now let's get this over with". We were able to cover most of the work and I must admit he's really smart and this was really helpful.
" We can work on the essay later" he said as we concluded. "Yeah" I said as I checked on the time. "I gotta go" I said as I grabbed my stuff. It was 6:36p.m and I had to be present for the gathering at 7p.m.
When I got home, I found mother waiting. "Where were you?" she asked. "I was in school completing an assignment" I said. "Sure you were" she rolled her eyes. "Oh be nice Carla" dad kissed moms cheek and walked over to me. "Hello sweetheart, how was your day?" my dad walked over to me.
Unlike mom, dad cared a bit more. "I've been great" I answered. "You remember what day it is right?" dad asked. "We have a gathering of your business partners right" I answered. "Yes and I want you to be present so that you can learn how I run the company and you can learn from the others" dad said.
"Right" I forced a smile. I wasn't that interested in dad's business but it was my duty to be an obedient daughter. And plus I wouldn't like to see him sad after all he's done for me.
