A Wolf’s Romance
Episode 1
Whenever you see <> with text in between, that means someone is talking through their mind link. For example, Josh say <I love you Lisa.> That means Josh told Lisa using his mind that he loves her and she heard him say it with her mind. It’s basically a conversation using their minds instead of verbally saying it.
Screaming into the night sky didn’t make me feel any better. My father, the Alpha of the Crimson Claw Pack wants to host a mating party for me. But who would want to pair with someone like me? I’m ugly!
Grey
No, I’m worse than ugly! I’m scary looking! Better yet, I’m hideous!!!!!
I have always freaked everyone in my pack out. And I grew up around them. Now, my father will force a complete stranger from this party to mate with me. How unfair!
I punched the tree next to me, making all the leaves fall from it. Even though I’m strong, the pack tolerates me because I am the Alpha’s only son! All of my “friends” are order to be my friend because of my father!
I know he means well......But, I just wish he would stop butting into my life and let me figure everything out on my own!
Suddenly, I hear movement behind me. But as they get closer, I could tell it was my pack mate Mason.
I looked to my right and saw Mason standing beside me. He is one of the “friends” ordered by my father.
Mason responded to my growl by bowing his head. Lowering it so far that he exposed his neck to me.
I’ve seen this display many times. Especially when a weaker wolf is trying to show a stronger wolf respect.
Seeing Mason cower before me made me sick to my stomach. I didn’t want to make him submit in such a degrading way, but I didn’t want to answer any questions either.
Grey
Lift your head Mason.
Zac
HEY! The Alpha wants us back immediately.
I looked in the direction the shouting came from and saw Zac another “friend” standing ten feet away.
Mason
We know Zac. We heard him call for us through the wolf link too dummy!
I took another deep breath in order to calm my anger. Looking back at Mason the moment I was able to fully gather myself.
I guess it’s time to confront my father!
Grey
Let’s go see what our Alpha wants.
When Mason and I finally reached Zac, the rest of my “friends” appeared out of the woods like magic.
I know for a fact these guys aren’t really my friends but pack members who are forced by my father to be my friend.
Shadow
<Well.... I would say they are your friends!>
My wolf Shadow decided to chime in and speak to me through our mind link. He does this a lot; especially, when he doesn’t agree with me.
Responding back to Shadow through our mind link is easy. It’s like breathing. You don’t even have to think about it, you just do it.
Grey
<I’m aware of your feelings Shadow, but your not me! Their wolves might get along greatly with you and consider you their friend, but for me not so much! These guys are not my friends, but my future support and pack defenses when my father and his team steps down.>
It is my duty to protect everyone as the next Alpha of the Crimson Claw Pack. And I accomplish that with a strong team behind me. With that being said, I ended up analyzing everyone as I looked each of them in their face.
Mason the next Beta is the second-in-command of the Crimson Claw Pack.
Zac the next Delta also known as a Hunter in the Crimson Claw Pack.
Ty the next Lead Gamma also known as a warrior in the Crimson Claw Pack will really be called the Lead Warrior when I take over.
And Alex the second-in-command Gamma will also become the next Healer in the Crimson Claw Pack.
Deep within, I felt this strange emotion looking at each of their perfect skins and outstanding facial features. Who am I kidding.... I’m jealous of them! Always have been, even when we were little. They we’re all born good looking! Whereas I was born ugly!!!!! I mean look at me......
Some might think this is paint but it’s not!!!!! I actually look like the grim reaper. Honestly, I look worse than Two Face from Batman! And my father actually believes someone will mate and marry me?!!!!!!! In his dreams.
Grey
You guys, let’s go! We’ve been out here long enough.
Mason
I’m pretty sure the conversation with your dad will go okay.
Alex
Mason’s right Grey! There’s nothing to stress about.
Zac
It’s only a mating party.
Ty
Exactly! It’s just a mating party.
We all shifted into our wolf form. Racing in the direction of my home where my dad was waiting for me.
Just great! I can’t wait to hear the rest of what he has to tell me.
Episode 2
Sitting in his office was my father and the Alpha of the Crimson Claw Pack.
I had a feeling that whatever he was about to say would only make me more upset.
Gerald
Listen Grey, I know you don’t want me throwing this mating party. But, I’m doing this for you. You’ll be stronger when your whole and have a mate beside you. And even if you don’t find your true mate at the party, I have arranged three potentials for you!
Grey
Are you saying there are three girls interested in mating with me Dad?
Gerald
Well.....their fathers owe me a favor so I’ve cashed it in. In a week, you will have the entire wolf coalition here and every single female wolf wanting to mate with you.
Grey
No one wants to mate with me dad! Can’t you see that? I mean come on, you even have to use the favor other Alphas owe you to arrange my marriage.
Gerald
Don’t worry son. A lot of female wolves your age never wants to mate at first! At the party, just be yourself and you will find someone.
I stormed out of my dad’s office furiously! I know I’m not acting like the next Alpha of the Crimson Claw Pack, but I can’t help it. I don’t want next week to come!
As I headed towards my room, I ran into the arms of the one woman that always understands me.
Helen
There there my boy! Everything will be okay. Grey, just give it a chance. You might be surprised and actually enjoy yourself at the party.
Grey
Sure Mom, whatever you say.
I ran to my room and shut the door behind me.
The view from my room is amazing! I love living on top of a mountain. I get to have the best of both worlds: being close to nature and still having a great view of the city.
Alex
Hey Grey, the guys and I are heading out tonight. We’re going to go party at the reef! You coming?
Grey
No. Go on ahead without me.
Zac
You sure? It’ll be fun!
Ty
Come out with us. It’ll take your mind off the mating party!
Grey
No, I’m good right here.
Mason
You guys go. I’ll stay here with Grey.
Grey
Go with them Mason. I want to to be alone tonight.
Mason
You know one of us must stay close to you at all times.

They finally left me alone in my room. I would have went, but I knew I would ruin the mood.
I remember sneaking out with them to go party at the reef a year ago.
Alex
Grey, your going to love it man! The parties here are lit.
Zac
Relax. There’s nothing to be nervous about.
Mason
Would y’all hurry up?!

I wanted to rip that guy’s throat out, but Mason stopped me.
Because of my short temper and the rude people at party, we ended up leaving just as soon as we arrived.
I didn’t want what happened a year ago to happen now. Which is why I told the guys to leave without me.
Besides, I didn’t feel like partying or being around a lot of people tonight.
But even as I tried not to think about it, my mind went from the reef party last year to my mating party that’s happening next week!
Grey
Huh....... is it truly possible that I will find my mate next week?
Shadow
<Yes, I think we will find her!>
Grey
<But Shadow, what if she rejects me at first sight? How embarrassing and heartbreaking that would be!? And if it happens in front of the entire wolf coalition, I’ll be an even bigger laughing stock than I am now!>
Shadow
<That’s true. But we must put ourselves out there first in order to catch our soulmate!>
Grey
<That’s easier said than done Shadow!>

Why did you whiten your face?
Grey
I thought it would look better!
Alex
More like you don’t want anyone to approach you or mate with you at this party!
Ty

So what! I’m going to the mating party like this.
They each looked as if they wanted to object. But was too afraid to do it.
Mason
Okay! If everyone is ready? Let’s head out.

The girls here are hot! I know I can find my mate here tonight.
Ty

Grey is our first priority! We’re here for him, not for ourselves.
Zac

My father was standing less than five feet away from me and as he approached, the guys all scattered like roaches. Leaving me all alone to face my father the Alpha.

This lovely lady next to me is my daughter Victoria.
I could tell Victoria is the daughter of an Alpha. She has the same air about her as me (an Alpha’s child scent). I’m not going to lie, Victoria is beautiful. But what stood out to me the most is her red hair and adorable freckles.
Looking at her now makes me seriously regret painting my face white.

Um.......I like to fight, workout and go for runs.

Max, why don’t we go find our wives and leave these two kids alone to talk.
As my father and Max walked away, I couldn’t help thinking how much I wished my father would stop treating me like a kid. I’m a young adult now, not some teenager.
Victoria and I are hitting it off great! The more we talk, the more I am feeling her. She has not once freaked out about the way I look. Which makes me appreciate her more for how she’s conducted herself throughout this entire time. Obviously, Victoria is not my soulmate or true mate, but she’s nice and I really can’t wait to see where this may go.
Victoria
I’m going to go head to the washroom.
Grey
Okay, I’ll just be here, waiting.
I feel like a complete dork as I watch Victoria walk away. Why did I say I’ll be here waiting for her when that fact is obvious!!!! I wish I could have said something cooler instead.
For once, I’m happy for my father’s interruption. His butting-in saved me from my inner turmoil.

Grey, make some rounds around the party with your Mother and I. We have a lot of people to greet, welcome and thank.
I knew it would be easy to find Victoria again since her scent is engraved in my mind. And with no other choice, I followed behind my parents, to meet everyone at this party.
Shadow
<See, I told you being here wouldn’t be as bad as you thought. You just have to put yourself out there.>
Grey
<You were right Shadow.>
My father and mother had me meet every person and eligible female at this party. And I could tell with absolute certainty that no one here is my true mate.
Good thing Victoria and I hit it off earlier because the two other girls I was suppose to meet had already found their true mates.
I’m a bit jealous, but overall happy for them. Deep down I would have loved to meet my true mate tonight. But as the next Alpha of the Crimson Claw Pack, sometimes choices for the pack vs. choices for yourself must be made.
Max
Hey Grey, have you seen my daughter?
Grey
She was heading to the bathroom the last time I was with her.
Helen
Oh, I just came from the washroom and she wasn’t in there.
Grey
Don’t worry. I’ll go look for her.
Shadow
<I picked up her scent. It’s coming from outside.>
I followed Shadow’s direction towards a pond outback. I kept walking towards the noises I was picking up on. As I got closer, I could clearly make out the sounds I was hearing and knew what I would see before I made it there.
Next to the pond on the ground was Victoria and Zac, entangled together while making out half *****.
Grey
Ggggrrrrr......roar!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn’t help the roar that escaped me. I was seeing red because my wolf and I has already decided that Victoria is ours and to see her with Zac my Delta and best friend hurts.
Victoria
Grey, please let me explain!
I let Zac get to his feet before I attacked. We were fighting as humans one second and then in our wolf form the next.
Victoria
You guys please stop.
I easily pinned Zac down, but he continues to fight me. In this moment, I knew something wasn’t right. Usually, my most trusted subordinates wouldn’t dare attack me. It’s against their nature, but Zac is really trying to hurt me. Why is that!?
Mason
Zac what are you doing?
Ty and Alex also showed up in wolf form and with the four of us facing off against him, Zac was still aggressive.
As wolves we all continued to fight Zac and was able to finally subdue him. We could have ended this fight already if we wanted to kill him.
Earlier, I could have ended this fight before the others showed up. But he’s my friend, even when I don’t want to admit it. I could never truly hurt Zac or any of them.
Right when the fight ended my father and the other Alphas came outside.
I changed back into a human and approached my father *****.
Grey
I came looking for Victoria and caught her and Zac together. Which made me lose it and so I attacked him.
My father forced Zac to turn back into a human. I knew what Zac was feeling was painful. Forcing someone to change always feels like your entire body is being ripped apart. My father usually did this as punishment.
Max
Victoria, what have you done!?
Victoria
Dad, it’s not like that. Zac and I were........, but that’s because.......
Zac
Victoria is my mate! My true soulmate!!!!!!!
What Zac just shouted, hit me like a ton of bricks. It all made sense now! Zac was feral because he was trying to protect his mate from ME!
Gerald
Victoria and Zac you guys go with Max. Everyone else let’s head back inside.
A pack member gave Zac a sheet to cover himself. And as he left with his true mate and future father in-law, I couldn’t help but feel jealous.
Another pack member gave the rest of us towels to cover ourselves as well.
I wanted to be happy for Zac, but all I could think about was how I was alone again.
