"I don't like your little games", these were his first words when he returned after 5 years. I was informed about his return by my mother in law. I tagged Susie, my daughter, along. Albert didn't show any sign of affection. She was looking at Albert's mushy face with expectant eyes 👀 but he didn't even realize it. He came and sat on the back seat of the car arrogantly. Albert was still the same as before. I didn't see him for a long time but he was still selfish, self-centered, rude, mean, the same as five years ago. He didn't realize how much his words hurt the people around him. He just thought that giving a sufficient amount of money was enough for his family. Never would he have thought that his family also needed his affection and attention. LOVE was a word omitted from his life chapters.

I am his wife but he never treats me like one. We only bedded once when he was drugged by a bunch of morons and I saved him but no one could save me. Under the effect of the drug he made me get pregnant 😭. I tried to find his family and after much efforts and twists and turns I found his mother and told her what happened. She liked me at first sight and as the saying goes FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE LAST IMPRESSION. She pitied me😏 and she forced Albert to marry me. Instead of admitting his mistake, he blamed all of it on me. His mother begged him to marry me and he did but soon after the simple wedding ceremony, he left the country. There he flourished his own buisness and became best of the best in the world.

After 5 long years he returned and when he saw me and my little girls the first sentence he said was "I don't like your little games"😭 and I was like "huh?" He repeated his words looking at me and our daughter scornfully. When I told Susie that Albert was his father she denied it completely.

She said that fathers are gentle and kind. They look at their children affectionately, the way he looks at me is definitely not the way a father looks at his child. Albert was stunned by her words but he was Albert, stubborn as always. To hide his shame, he looked at me sarcastically as if I had told Susie to say that😒. After annoyed by his look I said,"What's your problem🙄?" And he said, "Nothing." I wondered what was up with him🙄. Anyways I picked him up from the airport and escorted him back to home. Where my his mother was waiting for him. She waited day and night for his return. And after his return she wanted to hug him, kiss him but he was so arrogant that he walked past her without even saying a hello.

I followed him to his room and he was like on fire. I asked him, "Is this how you should treat your mom." He said, "No, I was too gentle." And I was like (YOU!!!) as there was nothing else I could do. He took a bath and went straight to sleep without eating anything. As husband and wife we didn't even sleep in the same room.

And when Susie asked me about it, I was speechless. I gently poked her face and politely asked her to sleep. She replied me in a (Humph!) manner.🤷

I woke up at 6:00 early in the morning as usual. I took a bathe and went into the kitchen. Now that everyone was asleep I thought of brewing some tea for myself. After some time I heard footsteps coming to the kitchen. It was Albert.

My mother in law was still asleep. I wondered what he wanted from me🙄. He came into the kitchen but after seeing that I was in the kitchen, he was about to leave but when I asked him about those little games, he replied with an ironic smile, "You know it better than me." And then he rushed out of the room and I was like wtf is he talking about. Some time later I heard my mother in law yawning. The tea I was brewing was almost ready. I asked her if she wanted some. She said she'd take some before having breakfast and I gave her the tea.We chatted for a bit and then it was almost 8:00 am. Susie came yawning into the kitchen and the first question she asked was, “Where is my cold-hearted father?” Mother-in-law took a deep breath and then said, “Your dad has a really important work to do, so he went out early in the morning without greeting you.” Susie replied with a puzzled expression on her face, “But grandma, teacher always says that children are the most important ones to parents, so I should be the most important to dad”.

Mother-in-law and I were speechless at that moment. I took a sigh and then patted her head and said, “Don’t overthink the things you don’t understand, ok?”

She nodded and then I made breakfast for the three of us. It was weekend and I thought of making something good for lunch.

I made some some bean paste dumplings. He didn't return home for lunch neither did he for dinner. I waited for him till 12 o'clock but after that I lost consciousness. When I woke up the next morning, I was already lying in my bed. I've got no idea about  what happened. I wondered who brought me to the bed. I looked at the time and it was already 10 o'clock!😵I got up from the bed quickly and hurried to the kitchen, where all three were having breakfast. Mother in law called me to have some. As soon as she called me to have breakfast, Albert left the table. I felt a little guilty but I decided I better not show my guilt as Susie was there.

I could clearly read Susie's expression. Her mind was full of questions. After a minute or two, she asked her grandmother, "Grandma, mom and dad should eat together,  shouldn't they?" Mother in law patted her head and said, Your father is sick that's why he seems to be a bit off." Susie nodded in dissatisfaction. I could clearly see the confused expression on her face. She had a lot of questions in her mind. So, to distract her from the current situation, I offered her to go to the amusement park with me.
