Chapter 1 - Fateful Encounter
Nina Sze
Stupid Obi, leaving me all by myself here.
Nina Sze took a glance at her glass filled with whiskey, making the ice click together.
Despite being 16, she was the CEO of a top business empire with almost unlimited funds. She was on top of the tower, looking down on anyone who dared try to compete with her.
However, no one knew of her identity. Only her butler, Alfred, knew about her and his lips were sealed no matter what happened.
Taking another sip, a tap on her shoulder made her turn around.
Drinker 1
Hey there. Do you fancy having a drink with us?
Nina Sze looked at them, unimpressed.
She said it so coldly that the two immediately stepped away and left. Nina picked up her glass and drank away, finished every single drop of the strong liquid.
Getting up, she started to wash to the washroom when something happened. It started to get warm, terribly warm. The world around her started to distort, leaving her feeling weak at the knees.
Nina Sze
No... I must have been drugged by those two guys... I need to get out of here...
However, that was a hard feat to accomplish. She couldn't even read her phone screen to find Obi's name.
At that moment, her head butted into a solid chest. Looking up, she tried her best to see the man's face. Then, she did.
Everything about him was handsome. His rosy lips, his bobbing Adam's apple, and also his innocent eyes.

Nina Sze

Pulling him into an empty room, Nina pushed him against the wall and started to kiss him. Their tongues moved together while their breaths mixed. Suddenly, the man's instincts kicked in as he pushed Nina down onto the bed.

Before not too long, both of their clothes were off and they weren't just kissing.
The man's body made Nina feel pleasure that she had never felt before and to the man, this encounter made him desire the woman he was getting busy with even more.

At that moment, she left the room and left the building. In an hour, the man woke up and reached to hold the girl next to him when he felt nothing. He jumped out of his bed and ran to the bathroom to check if she was there but to no avail.

Dora Sze, Nina's adopted sister, ran down the stairs. Despite always failing to embarrass Nina, that doesn't stop her from trying over and over again.

I slept over at Obi's house. My clothes got stained so he lent me these.
Obi is my best friend since kindergarten. Dora used to have a crush on him but soon realised that his only love was video games, she soon let him go.
Dora Sze

Dora Sze

Nina didn't realise what she meant until her adoptive parents walked down the stairs with a handful of documents in their hands.
She soon realised what they were. Her mother's face explained it all.
Nina Sze
You want to kick me out and stop being my guardian, right? Is it because I'm making a shadow out of your real daughter?
Nina's mother went to speak up but didn't. Nina was never going to bullied by the likes of them again. Grabbing the documents, she read though them and signed her name. Then, throwing them into the air, she walked out of the house without another word.
Outside, she took out her phone and phoned her best friend.
Nina Sze
Is that offer to study abroad with you still on the table?
Jumping into the cab outside of her house, she drove off without a second thought to the airport.
After that night, she thought that she never needed to think about that man again. However, three months after, she got a visit from one of her contacts who happens to be her private doctor.
Ice Storm
Nina... I've got some good news and some bad news.
Nina Sze
The great Doctor Storm has bad news? I thought that you cure anything that befalled me!
Obi Torres
Get to the point, Ice! What's wrong with her?
Ice Storm
U-Um... the good news is that you aren't sick... it's just that...

She's three months pregnant!
At that moment, Nina froze and didn't move again. Obi turned towards Nina and held her hand. The sudden warmth made her turn her head to face Obi's.
Obi Torres
This is... unexpected news. It's okay, we'll get through this together, Nina!
He was saving her face. He knew who the child belonged to and so did Nina but it wasn't right to get rid of it.
Nina Sze
Obi, I need to move into the house on the top of the hill in the countryside. Ice, I want you to move in there too. I'll give birth to this child, it's the right thing to do.
Holding her stomach, knowing that there was a part of her inside of her, she smiled.
Nina Sze
We'll get through this... together...
After Ice left, Obi became furious.
Obi Torres
I should have been there... I shouldn't have left you... if I hadn't, then maybe...
"The child in your stomach could have been mine." was what he wanted to say but couldn't bring himself too. He has loved Nina since she was a little child. Ever since she first smiled to him in kindergarten. He wanted to protect her and her happiness.
Nina touched the boy's cheek tenderly. He flinched and blushed as he looked at the one woman he loved.
Nina Sze
You are the one that I trust the most... I want to have you by my side during this time.
He then hugged her affectionately and looked at her stomach. No matter who the baby's father was, it was still a part of Nina.
Obi Torres
I would never leave you... I told you, you could never get rid of me.
Nina patted him on the head, swallowing her fear. She had never raised a child before and since she was always so busy with work, how was she supposed to look after it. She was scared out of her wits but knowing that Obi was going to be by her side, she felt reassured.
Looking out of her balcony, a very pregnant Nina stared out into the distance. The smell of salt water from the sea made her feel at ease.
Nina Sze
Baby, you have a lot of people who are worried about you and you are tiring Mummy out!
But Nina smiled at her stomach and caressed it.
A wave of surprise overcame her as she turned around. Seeing Obi standing at her door, wearing his hoodie and a smile, she smiled to him.
Nina Sze
Welcome home, Obi! I'm sorry for making you go down to the city to buy me new clothes. Baby here just won't stop growing!
Obi then waddled over towards Nina and placed his ear onto her belly.
Obi Torres
You'd better not be hurting my Nina, you brat! Once you come out, I'm going to train you on how to protect your Mummy, you understand?
Nina Sze
What if it is a girl?
He looked up at me with a straight face.
Obi Torres
She'll be my little angel. Besides, girls can fight! You sure can!
Nina Sze
Oh, really? If you think that I'm going to let my daughter learn how to fight, you are mistaken!
Taking my hands, Nina then noticed how sad his face was.
Ice Storm
Checkup time! Oh, am I interrupting something?
Obi scowled at him while Nina smiled.

No, we were just talking. Is it that time of the month already?
Ice Storm
Are you sure that you don't want to know the gender of the baby?
Nina Sze
Nope. To me, it doesn't matter. As long as he or she is healthy, that is all that counts.
Obi frowned. He knew why Nina felt so adamant on raising this child. She was abandoned at birth by a mother who simply didn't want her. That was why she is taking this all in stride.
Ice Storm
Well, why don't Obi and I go out to celebrate? You are going to be a father very soon!
Obi then hugged me, which is how he expresses his affection.
Obi Torres
I'm staying with Nina! I won't leave her alone in the house ever again!
He knows how vulnerable Nina was in the state she was in. She needed to be protected, which is what he always wanted to do.
His love for her went unnoticed by Nina but it was there, surrounding her. He would do anything to protect her or the baby inside of her.

Chapter 2 - Three Years Later
Nina Sze
Gosh, I am so late!
My name is Nina Sze. Around three years ago, I was drugged in a bar and slept with an escort. Despite being handsome, I left and found out shortly after that I was pregnant.
Unsure of what to do, Obi, my best friend, supported me through the way and I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy a few months later.
I named him Shiro, after the white snow that befalled the outside of the house.
After that, I managed somehow to raise him. Just like me at his age, he took an interest in books and was very clever for his age. However, we had to leave that house eventually and return to my old hometown.
Arriving at the airport ten minutes late, I looked around, trying to see if he had arrived yet. I was a terrible mother, coming ten minutes late to the airport to pick him up!
Then, I felt a light kick to the back of my leg. Turning around, I saw my dashingly handsome son, clearly looking a little irritated.
Shiro Sze
You were late, Mummy. Again...
Nina Sze
Shiro! There you are! Hold on, where's your Uncle Obi, I thought that he was going to be with you.
Shiro Sze
He went to look for you. The fool.
Despite nearly turning four, Shiro acts like he's an 8-year-old. At his age, I was as mature as he is now but I didn't have such a sharp tongue.
Nina Sze
Come on, that's no way to talk to your uncle!
Suddenly, a pair of hands shot out of nowhere and hugged her around the waist. The strong smell of smoke filled my nose and I knew who was behind me.
Nina Sze
You do know that I've only been gone for two weeks, right?
Shiro Sze
He's been on edge ever since you left.
I turned around and ruffled Obi's hair.
Nina Sze
I missed you too, you big dummy! Remember, I'm not carrying a child anymore. I can defend myself, you have no need to worry!
Obi Torres
I know but remember, I'll never stop protecting you!
But he still did. However, I needed him to be by Shiro's side to protect him.
Nina Sze
Let's go! The car is waiting for us at the entrance to bring you to our new house!
Shiro Sze
Why did we have to move here again?
Obi then pulled Shiro's ear, making him start to hiss like a cat.
Obi Torres
Whatever your mother thinks is best for you, you should accept it no questions asked!
Shiro Sze
Unhand me! This is child abuse! Mummy, help me!
I out my hand over Obi's and said sweetly:
Nina Sze
Obi, be nice to my son. My poor little Shiro...
Then, tears appeared in his eyes as he ran and hugged my legs.
I picked him up and cradled him while walking to the car, leaving Obi behind. Facing away from me, Shiro smirked at Obi who realised that he had been tricked.
Mr Carson
Sir, here are the reports for last week's project.
A bored Aubery Kung woke up from sleeping on his desk and looked up at his butler, Mr Carson.
Aubery Kung
I just had the wildest dream...
Mr Carson

He continued guessing names while the day went by, feeling like today could be the day to find his woman once again.
I opened up the doors to our new apartment. It was a four bedroom house with a huge kitchen and a huge living room.

I was thinking that we could use one of the rooms as a library for all of your books, what do you think?

Why can't I put them in my room?

As I walked into the newly furnished apartment that I had spent a few weeks furnishing, he nodded in approval.

It's adequate, I guess.

Obi walked to the couch where he immediately started to play video games. I started on lunch, seeing as Shiro should be hungry.

Mum, I'm not hungry!
And just like that, he slammed his door. He isn't in the teenager stage yet so why is he so bossy? At three years old, he's supposed to beg for my attention, not discard it!
Nina Sze
Oh, I forgot to get pasta! Obi, could you look after Shiro while I pop out to the shops?
Grabbing my purse, I walked out of the apartment and out of the building. I walked towards the shops, taking a look at the time.
Meanwhile, passing by in his car was Aubery Kung. As he gazed out of the window dreamingly, the sight of someone familiar made his eyes tense.
Shouting at his butler, Carson immediately stopped the car, letting him jump out.
Looking around, he saw me disappear behind a corner. He immediately sprinted towards me and turned the corner but then, saw nothing there. It was like I had disappeared into thin air. Out of breath, he continued to run despite having lost me. Meanwhile, I was inside of the grocery store buying pasta without knowing who had just past by where I had walked.
Aubery Kung
Where are you...
Aubery kept on running, looking desperately for me when Carson rolled up the car next to him.
Mr Carson
Sir, who are you-
Aubery Kung
I saw her! I saw my wife! She's here, Carson, I saw her!
Mr Carson
Calm down, Sir. May I suggest calming down? It was probably the heat that made you believe that she was-
Aubery Kung
No, I'm telling you that I really saw her! She's out there, in this city!

He remembered how soft her skin was and how sweet her lips tasted. To him, only one thing mattered and that was finding her.

I smelt a delicious beef stew being made. And there he was, standing on a stool, stirring the pot. My son.

H-Hey! I thought that you weren't hungry!
Shiro Sze
Someone has to make your food, don't they? If I don't eat, you don't either.
He wasn't wrong. He does motivate me to eat healthier meals...

Please be careful! If you fall from that stool, you could get hurt!
Shiro Sze
Stop worrying, Mummy. I'm fine, see? I can stand on one leg and not lose my balance, see?

Shiro has always been grown up. At his age, some babies can't been form full sentances but he can recite the laws of gravity by heart. He is indeed my son.

Oh, I forgot to tell you, Obi! I secured another billion dollar deal! Isn't that great?
Angry, I walked over and snatched his phone from his hands.
Obi Torres
H-Hey, I wasn't at a checkpoint!
Nina Sze
I told you to watch my son and you allow him to cook? Do you know how badly burnt he could have been?
I put my hands on my hips angrily, looking at him with sharp eyes and making him shiver.
Obi Torres
I'm sorry, I apologise! I promise that this will be the last time!
Nina Sze

Chapter 3 - School
Giving birth to Shiro did make my life a little more difficult. I had to attend events in his school, drive him to different places. I know that he doesn't need to go to school. He could skip all the way to high school but I want him to have a normal life.
I might be the richest woman alive but I still want him to find the meaning of hard work.
Aubery Kung was in his office, drunk and clearly out of it. He wanted to hold the woman he had loved for three years in his arms once again and share the bliss that he had once had with her.
Suddenly, he quickly sobered up when Carson burst through the doors, holding a picture of her.
Mr Carson
Sir, we found her!
Aubery Kung
Where is my wife now?
-In front of kindergarten-
Nina Sze
Now, you have to behave and don't be mean to girls!
Shiro Sze
Honestly, you sound more nervous than I am and I'm going to the stupid place!
Nina Sze
And lose that attitude of yours as well.
A woman then spotted me nagging at Shiro and smirked.
Mother 1
Some girls should honestly wear protection! Having a child at that age should be taboo!
Shiro snarled at the woman, his cold eyes going right through her and making her tremble.

Some women shouldn't have children at all. Especially the old ones with plastic faces!
The woman immediately became furious as she walked over and slapped me across the face.
Mother 1
This is why children like you shouldn't raise a child. They turn out to be rats and vermin just like their mother!
Shiro Sze
You dare insult my-
Nina Sze
It's okay. I apologise if my son might have offended you in any way. Come on, Shiro. Apologise.
He then saw how his mother smiled and understood what she meant.
Shiro Sze
I'm sorry... I went too far.
He grumbled while he said it and the lady soon left. He then touched my swollen cheek and frowned.
Shiro Sze
Why should we apologise? She insulted and slapped you!
Nina Sze
Shiro, here's a piece of advice. When people like that are around you, simply remember that you are more powerful and more grown up than they'll ever be.
Nina Sze
Be the adult and remember that they are just scared of what you can become.
Shiro looked at his mother and finally knew how she had survived all those years with him.
He then walked through the gates of the kindergarten with his straight face. If only he could smile for me again like he used to.
Getting up from crouching down, I headed home with a smile on my face. I had work to do for the company today. Alfred, my butler and acting CEO while I was away, kept the company steady while I was giving birth and raising Shiro.
It's time to give him a visit. I walked along the road until a pair of hands grabbed me from nowhere and pressed something strong against my mouth. I headbutted them, sending them back but it was too late for me.
The chloroform took effect and I feel unconscious to the floor.
I woke up on a soft bed, feeling drowsy. Where was I? My vision was blurred and I couldn't see what was around me clearly. Then, I saw him. Someone with brown hair was sitting in a chair next to my bed. His clothes were dishevelled and his face was dripping wet.
Seeing that I was opening my eyes, he got up and rushed to my side.
I tried to back away but he took my hand and placed it on his bare chest.

Who was this guy? I can't see him properly.
Nina Sze
Yes, of course I can feel it.
Where was I? Then, my vision focused and I saw the man in front of me. He was terribly handsome and had a very solid and sexy chest. He reminded me of someone, I wasn't too sure of who.

Was I supposed to? My head hurt so much and I just wanted to get home and sleep.
Nina Sze

Then, he looked heartbroken. He looked at me and held my wrist tightly.

Why did I feel so hot all of a sudden? My heartbeat fastened and it reminded me of the drug that had been used on me in the bar.

I can't think. All I feel is him. His touch... the way his lips and tongue trailed down my chest, making me cry out in ecstasy. I remembered how warm his touch felt and how satisfying it was everytime he entered my body. We both lost ourselves to bliss as our encounter lasted until the next morning.
However, I was in no way getting up from where I was sleeping. I could barely move. It hurt everywhere, especially at my waist. He continued, as if he had a whole battery full of stamina left.

As he continued, I eventually past out. The man, noticing, panicked terribly. He grabbed me and covered me with a bed sheet.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, looking at the ceiling. I felt so sore and numb at the same time. Where was I?
Nurse
Your wife has a bruised cervix. She past out due to exhaustion. My recommendation is that you refrain from having intimate relations for a week. It should be healed by then.
Aubery Kung
Aren't you a nurse? Get her some painkillers or something!
Nurse
Sir, please calm down... it will heal naturally on its own. I can give her some normal over-the-counter painkillers if the pain gets too severe. I also recommend that she doesn't move for the next day.

The nurse then picked up her briefcase and left the room. Seeing my eyes flicker open, he smiled and grabbed my hands.

I turned around and snapped at him.
