Joy pov:

With the highest honor and an average of 98.25%, Joy Rivera, when my name was called, I went to the front. And I received my certificate.

"Congrats, Lay. They call me Lay. Congratulations. Where are your mommy and daddy?" This is what he asked me while looking at mom and dad.

"Don't look for them anymore. Kyla is also receiving an award now," I said, and then I faced the camera to have my picture taken. After that, I went down and was greeted by Celine and Faye.

"Lay, why are you alone? Where are your mom and dad?" Faye asked me

"Oh, Kyla is also receiving an award now," I said while forcing a smile at them so they wouldn't worry about me

"Ehhh. Where is your brother Lio, and your brother Kyle?" Celine asked me

"They're not here, they're busy... It's okay," I said and walked out ahead of them.

Why?, i said

"Let's go out for a walk since our awarding is over," they said when they invited me

"Um... I think I'll just go home because we have dinner there. I'm sure Kyla is also one of those who will receive an award," I said, but the truth is I really just want to stay home. Besides, I know that mom and dad will eat out to celebrate only for Kyla.

"Good for you i said," i said i'n my mind

When I arrived home, I took a deep breath, turned on the light, looked around at the deafening silence, and picked up my phone. I saw their chats in the family group chat. It's so fun for everyone. "They're having an F Family bonding," I said as I stared at my phone, unaware that tears were already falling from my eyes.

I went to my room, put down my things, placed the certificate I received from school on my table, and lay down. The house was so quiet... no celebration for me. Damn, am I jealous?

Several hours passed, and they arrived. I was about to open the door of my room when I heard them laughing.

"Brother, where's your gift for me?!" Kyla shouted at our brother Lio.

"Here it is. Anyways, congrats, little sis!!" brother said.

"Hey, put Kyla's certificate there, hang it up, and our family picture," Dad said, while brother Kyle responded on the other end.

"You're really amazing, little sis!" praised brother kyle to Kyla.

To you HAHAHA That's what Kyla said, that made our living room full of laughter and I'm here inside my room listening to them

By the way, mom dad did no one attend to Lay awarding ceremony? kyla said

Let it be, I'm sure she won't get anything important anyway, that's what brother Lio told Kyla

Why isn't Lay here yet? Chat Lay Lio, that's what brother Kyle said.

"Why not you? i have a bad feeling that she'll start a drama again," Brother Lio disagree

Let her be, she'll face my wrath when I get home! Mom said angrily.

How unfair this family is! I wish I were Kyla instead..

I let them be and went back to my bed, pondering why they can't love me like they do to Kyla. I'm their child too, I'm also their sibling, why does Kyla receive more love and attention than me.

It's 2:00 am and I can't sleep, I don't know why I can't sleep so I decided to leave my room. Before that, I took the award I received from school, the one I worked hard for just to make Mom, Dad, and Brother proud. I brought it to the kitchen, got some water, sat at the table, and stared at the piece of paper I worked hard on for months just to make Mom to be happy to me.

I feel tears streaming down my face and I don't know what else to do. I crumpled the award paper and just threw it on the floor. Then, I went back to my room.

Kyle's point of view/pov:

I woke up at 2:00 am and saw Lay coming out of her room carrying a piece of paper. I watched as she placed it on the table and stared at it. After a few moments, tears started to flow from her eyes. She crumpled the paper and went back into her room.

As she left, I picked up the paper she threw and saw that it was her award for achieving the highest honor. I realized why she was crying - because of the unfair treatment towards her. I took the paper, tried to fix it, got a picture frame, placed Lay's award in it, and hung it in our awards area.

Suddenly my phone received a notification and see's that my brother kyle texted me.

Kyle- congrats little sis🥳❤️

Joy- What?? is it brother?

Kyle- Wow, with highest honor! I'm so proud of you! Let's go out tomorrow? My treat! 🎉

Joy- Thank you, it's okay even if we don't go out, I still have things to do tomorrow.

Kyle- what are you doing do to tomorrow?

Joy- it's just that I'm busy tomorrow, maybe next time. Anyways, I'm going to sleep now. Goodnight.

Kyle- ahhh okay okay night
