It was a gloomy afternoon. In front of a big wall there is a window. A little girl is sitting there facing the window. On the body of the wall there are many small plants that have grown on their own. She was wondering, "Wow, there are so many plants. How do they grow there! We never water them and there is no soil on the body of the wall. Then how?"
While she was lost in her own thoughts then someone entered the room. She called the girl by her name, "Rahi! Are you even listening to me? Why are you up? I told you to sleep quietly." The girl didn't reply. Then the woman went near her and tapped on her shoulder. The girl silently moved her head towards her and said, "Sorry I didn't listen to you. But why were you in uncle's room mama?" The woman stepped back with a shocking expression on her face. And asked her while shuttering, "H..how do you know that? Y..you went there? B..but the d..door was closed! How on earth..." She couldn't complete her sentence. The little girl said without being nervous,"No. I never went there. I just saw that in my dream. And when I woke up you were not here. And when you entered the room I heard your thoughts."
That woman looked puzzled and shocked. She went near her and held her both shoulders with her hands and asked,"Are you telling me the truth? You really didn't go there? No, that's not important right now. Have you told anyone about this? Tell me only the truth Rahi." She glared at her. The little girl said nonchalantly,"I have not said anything to anyone. But why mummy? What will happen if I tell anyone about this?"
That woman looked at her for some time then she let go of her shoulders and sat beside her. Then she said,"My dear, if anyone listens to this nonsense then they will think you are mad. I mean how can anyone dream about an incident that is happening, and how can anyone hear others thoughts? Tell me will anyone believe in you? And you know what will happen then!"
"What will happen mama?",she asked timidly. "Then no-one will play with you and talk with you. You will never have a friend. So don't even utter this kind of imaginary thing in front of others. Okay dear?", the woman said and kissed the girl's forehead. With teary eyes Rahi said,"Okay mama. I will never talk about my dreams to anyone."
Then her mother left the room. Rahi was wondering,"Why did she lie to me! I heard her thoughts clearly. She was thinking if I tell about this to papa or granny then she will be in danger. Ofcourse, I do not want mama to get in trouble because of me. So I am not gonna talk to anyone about this."
She noticed the outside of the window it started to rain. And she realized that's how the plants get water from Nature. Then she thought,"But what about the soil?"

Rahi was playing under a big tree which was situated behind their house. She was there alone. She was collecting some different kinds of leaves and plants to cook for her grandpa and her father. During the summer vacation no-one can make her sleep in the afternoon. In her house she has no-one at her age to play with her. So she has created her own world. She always talked with the trees, the plants and also with some people whom others can't see.
A little cat came to her "Meow". Rahi looked at the cat and sat down on the ground in front of the cat. She tried to pat the cat but couldn't touch it. She realized this cat is also one of them whom only she can see.
Rahi asked the cat,"where do you live kitty?"
The cat looked at the corner of the back of a tree. Rahi went there but couldn't find anything. Again she asked the cat,"Are you sure you live here?" The little cat,"Meow."
Rahi thought about something then she went to the potter's house and after a while she came with an object that will help her to dig the soil.
Rahi started to dig the soil with the object. Her hands were covered with soil she was panting and sweating while digging. After a while see smelled a very bad smell. She covered her nose with her hands and shouted out of fear.
After hearing her shouting everyone in the house came to her. They were also surprised after seeing the ground. Rahi started to cry hugging her grandma. She was patting her back and told others to call someone and dig the ground. After digging the discovered a cat's body with many cuts.
In the evening after everyone came back from their work, Rahi's grandmother called them all in the hall. Everyone was wondering what was happening in the house. How can someone kill a little cat brutally! Every part of the cat's body had been cut into pieces. And the cat was alive then. To stop it's shouting that the person covered its mouth with a plastic bag and cause of the pain the cat died.
Rahi's grandmother Namita entered the room holding Rahi's hand. She sat on a couch and made Rahi sit on her lap. Rahi hugged her grandmother and squeezed her face on the shoulder. Her grandmother gently patted her back and said,"Rahi sona, you are my brave child right? Now tell us how you found the cat?
Rahi lifted her face and said quietly,"I was playing in the backyard and saw a cat I followed her and saw that she was sitting on the ground looking down. I went to her and saw a mound of soil. I started to dig it. After digging some soil I smelt a bad smell and saw the h..head of the ca..at!" then she started to cry again.
Her granny carefully started to pat her back and then looked at others and asked,"Who did this?"
Everyone was silent in the room. Rahi's dad talked first,"Come on maa, how can someone in the family do such a cruel crime?"
Rahi raised her head and whispered in her grandmother's ear,"Rahul brother did this. I heard his thoughts. He was laughing in his mind."
Her grandmother looked at her seriously and said,"Are you sure darling?" Rahi nodded her head. She realized that her grandmother believed her words.
Her grandmother then looked at Rahul and asked her firmly,"Rahul beta, you did it right?"
Rahul looked at his grandmother with a disbelief and shock in his eyes and shuttered while talking,"I..um.. No.. Ga..granny,.. I..c..can ne..never.."
Grandmother raised her right hand and stopped Rahul. Then she said I know you did this. So now it is your time for punishment. Rahul's mother Mina tried to say something but couldn't. In their house everyone had to obey them (by 'them' means Rahi's grandmother and grandfather).
She stood up from the couch holding Rahi in her hand and said to Rahul,"You have to bury the cat in a nice place and then upon the soil plant a flower seed. Every day twice you have to water the seed. If the plant die or the seed could not grow up then there will be further punishment." Then she looked at Rahi's father and mother. And told him to come with her.

Sitting on her grandmother's lap Rahi looked at her mother with teary eyes and said timidly,"Sorry mama." Anita looked at her daughter and then looked at her mother-in-law with a fear in her eyes. Namita asked Anita,"You knew about her abilities?" Anita nodded her head up and down slowly as yes.
Namita put down Rahi from her lap and asked her softly,"Rahi beta, why didn't you say anything to me about this?" Rahi looked at her mother and then her grandmother. She was about to cry. Her grandmother hugged her and said,"No, no, my dear. Don't cry. I wasn't scolding you. I just want to know why you didn't say anything to us."
Rahi looked up and said,"I was afraid. I was afraid that no-one will love me again if I tell them about it. Sorry grandma."
Namita patted her back and said,"How can someone hate my lovely Rahi? I will scold them if they hate you. Now tell me when did you start to have this kind of vision?"
Rahi asked her while wiping her eyes,"What is a vision grandma?"
Namita said,"When you can see something in your dream and that incident is actually true then that is called a vision. Now tell me about it."
Rahi started to tell her about the secret that should have been hidden. "Grandma do you remember my last birthday?"
"Yes."
"Hum. In the afternoon when I was alone in the backyard I saw a little girl with some flowers in her hand. She was staring at me. And went to her and asked her who she is! Because that was the first time I saw her in our house. She told me she stayed here before me and she wished me a happy birthday and gifted me the flowers."
With fear and pain in her eyes Namita asked,"Do you remember her appearance?"
Rahi was going to continue but someone knocked on the door. From the other side of the door someone asked,"Can I join now?" Namita said,"Hum, come in." Arjo came into the room. He sat down on the bed beside Rahi and asked,"Why are you two standing there? Come and sit with us." Rahi's parents sat on the nearby couch.
Arjo asked Namita,"Will you please enlighten me with some details about what is happening here?"
Namita told him everything. He went silent. Then patted her dear granddaughter's head and said,"Rai, it's ok dear. I know I can't understand how much pain you have endured. But believe me your grandpa believes you."
Aniruddha was getting irritated by all of this. "How can you two just spoil her like this? She is making stories and you are believing it. Come on maa and you also papa, don't encourage her to make stories like this."
Namita looked at her son calmly and then coldly said,"Do you remember the time when you wanted to marry Anita? You were hesitating to tell us but I went to her house with your marriage proposal and you were surprised. How do you think I knew that? When you never told anyone about her.!"
Rahi's father went shocked. Then Namita said,"Rahi is not the first girl in this house to have these abilities. In my family my mother also had these abilities. And I heard that in every generation the firstborn girl always had these kinds of abilities."
Rahi's father and mother were shocked after they knew the secret. Arjo said,"I also knew about your mother's ability. But we never shared it with others. Actually every girl who had these abilities all of them lost their powers after the age of 55. But we don't know why and how!"
Namita cupped Rahi's face with her two hands and said,"Don't worry Rahi. I will teach you how you can control these powers by medications. As for today now you should rest. It was a long day for all of us."
