It's my first time writing, so it wouldn't be That good, but I hope you will support me
and yeah English is not my first language
Taehyung and Jungkook are walking through the school hallway after class, discussing their plans for the day. As they approach the exit, Jungkook's expression sours
jungkook (JK)
You sure you want me to come over to your place again? he asks, sounding reluctant.
Taehyung tries not to show his disappointment, but it's hard to miss.
taehyung (V)
Yeah, I thought we could study together. Plus, you can finally try my mom's cooking... you always say you want to, he says, feigning nonchalance.
jungkook let's out a sigh.
jungkook (JK)
Yeah, yeah, I know. But I just hate that area, it's always so crowded and dirty. His tone is a mix of resignation and annoyance.
Taehyung can't help but feel a pang of hurt, but he covers it up with a smile.
taehyung (V)
I get it, it's not the nicest area. But I promise it'll be fine. We'll have some peace and quiet to ourselves at my place.
Jungkook shrugs, still not looking enthusiastic about the idea.
jungkook (JK)
Yeah, I guess. But we're not gonna study the whole time, right? I don't want to be stuck at your house the whole night.
Taehyung nods, trying to sound enthusiastic.
taehyung (V)
Of course not. We'll take breaks, watch a movie, do whatever.
He's aware that Jungkook probably has other plans with his rich friends, but he keeps that thought to himself.
Jungkook pats him on the back roughly.
jungkook (JK)
Alright, alright. I'll come over, but only if we actually study. And don't make me stay too long, okay?"
Taehyung forces a smile, nodding.
taehyung (V)
Sure thing. And don't worry, we can leave whenever you want.
Internally, he wonders if Jungkook ever looks forward to hanging out with him or if he's always just a convenient option.
dirty
But he pushes that thought away, telling himself it's just his imagination. After all, they've been friends since childhood, and he doesn't want to read too much into Jungkook's actions.
They continue walking, discussing the class they just had, and Taehyung tries to shake off the feeling of insecurity that always seems to follow him around Jungkook.
They reach the bus stop, and Taehyung checks the bus schedule. He turns to Jungkook with a smile.
taehyung (V)
We should arrive at my place in about 30 minutes. Do you have your books?
Jungkook nods, pulling a battered textbook from his bag.
jungkook (JK)
Yeah, yeah, I got it. Let's just hope we can actually focus on studying.
Taehyung nods, though he's already mentally preparing himself for the reality of Jungkook getting distracted and spending more time on his phone than on studying.
They board the bus, and as they settle into their seats, Taehyung glances over at Jungkook. He's already scrolling through his phone, a bored expression on his face.
Taehyung lets out a soft sigh, resigning himself to the fact that he'll be the one doing most of the studying tonight.
But he reminds himself that it's worth it to have Jungkook over, even if he's not the most focused study partner. After all, Taehyung secretly cherishes these moments when they're together, even if they don't always go as he hoped.
As the bus moves through the city, Taehyung watches the familiar streets and buildings pass by. But his eyes keep darting back to Jungkook, who remains absorbed in his phone screen.
Taehyung wonders what he finds so captivating, and if he's texting his girlfriend Aria. The thought makes his heart pang a little, but he quickly pushes it aside and looks out the window again.
He knows better than to let his feelings for Jungkook take over his thoughts. They're friends, and that's all they'll ever be. He just has to cherish the moments they do spend together and not hope for more.
Finally, the bus arrives at Taehyung's stop. He nudges Jungkook, who reluctantly puts down his phone and gathers his things.
They step off the bus and start walking towards Taehyung's neighborhood. The atmosphere between them is a bit tense, Taehyung's disappointment at Jungkook's lack of enthusiasm obvious in his silence.
Jungkook notices the change in Taehyung's demeanor and sighs.
jungkook (JK)
Hey, cheer up, alright? Stop being so mopey.
Taehyung forces a smile, but it doesn't reach his eyes.
taehyung (V)
Sorry, just tired from class. Let's hurry up and get to my house.
They continue walking, the atmosphere still somewhat strained as they make their way through the crowded streets to Taehyung's apartment building.
As they approach the old, rundown building, Jungkook's face turns a little sour.
jungkook (JK)
This place is always so dirty and loud
he mutters, looking around with distaste.
Taehyung notices the change in Jungkook's expression and feels a pang of hurt
taehyung (V)
Yeah, well, not everyone can afford to live in fancy places like you,
he replies with a tinge of bitterness.
Jungkook scoffs at that, rolling his eyes.
jungkook (JK)
I'm not saying you have to live somewhere fancy, but this area is just disgusting. I don't know how you can stand the noise and the dirt.
angry
Taehyung clenches his jaw, resisting the urge to lash out at Jungkook's words.
taehyung (V)
It's not like I have a choice,Jungkook. This is what I can afford. Not all of us grew up with a silver spoon in our mouths.
Jungkook shrugs, not looking at all remorseful.
jungkook (JK)
Hey, I'm just stating the facts. There's a reason I prefer to hang out at my place or your mom's place. At least there's privacy and cleanliness.
Taehyung's hands ball into fists, his frustration mounting.
taehyung (V)
Yeah, well, sorry my life isn't as clean and perfect as you'd like it to be. But I can't control where I was born or what my living situation is.
Jungkook's tone is nonchalant as he replies, oblivious to Taehyung's growing anger.
jungkook (JK)
I'm just saying it's not ideal, that's all. You know I hate coming here.
Taehyung's had enough. He stops walking and turns to face Jungkook, his eyes flashing with annoyance.
taehyung (V)
Then why are you here? If you hate it so much, why did you even bother agreeing to come over?
Jungkook looks taken aback by Taehyung's sudden outburst.
jungkook (JK)
Jeez, calm down. I just came because you asked, okay? I didn't want to refuse and have you get all whiny about it.
Taehyung's frustration reaches its boiling point.
taehyung (V)
Oh, so you came out of pity? Thanks a lot. I appreciate being your charity case.
Jungkook looks slightly guilty now, but covers it up with a defensive tone.
jungkook (JK)
Hey, that's not what I meant. I just... I wanted to help you study, okay?"
taehyung (V)
Help me study? Right,
Taehyung replies with sarcasm.
taehyung (V)
Because you're such a model student. We both know you're just here to distract me and use my place as a break from your 'perfect' life.
Jungkook's expression darkens at that.
jungkook (JK)
You know what, screw this. I don't need to be here if you're just going to act like an ass.
He turns to leave, but Taehyung grabs his arm, pulling him back.
taehyung (V)
No, you don't get to just walk away. You came here, so we're having this conversation,
Taehyung says firmly, his grip on Jungkook's arm tightening.
Jungkook scoffs, but he doesn't pull away.
jungkook (JK)
Fine, say whatever you want, but it's not gonna make this place any less of a dump.
