The year was 1995, Will Kumah, the biggest crime boss in the country was lying on his sick bed, suffering from a terminal illness which could lead to his death. Will at the heights of his powers, was involved in every illegal business available in the country. Being it Kidnapping, drug smuggling, gold smuggling, human trafficking and others. He later stopped the human trafficking after he became a parent. The cause of his sickness is unknown. Some believed he was poisoned others also believed his careless way of living had finally caught up with him. While on his sick bed, the politics of who will succeed him as the head of the businesses had already begun between his Children (Pete,Dan and Sonya whose mother was Eveline and Tony and Tonya who were twins but from a different mother called Linda). If it was up to Will, the person who was best fit for the role was Tony since he was so calm and collected but was also ruthless when he needs to be. Besides, Tony was also one of his beloved children alongside his twin Tonya.

Tony was also very intelligent although he never had any form of education. In regards to education, all of Will's children weren't given any because he was a wanted criminal and had a lot of enemies. If any of his enemies or even the government were to find out his children were attending school, it could have caused a lot of problems for him so to prevent any of those circumstances, he never sent any of his children to school. They were hardly seen for that matter. But he did home school them to an extent to make sure they coul read and write. Since he couldn't read and write, he always needed a secondary person to translate for him whenever he had to do business with foreigners who spoke English. He didn't want his children to go through the same situation as him.

 While still sick, he decided to announce who was going to succeed him. His fear was that, he may not have enough time left. In other to avoid a grudge between his children, he saw the need to make it known to them who he saw fit replace him as head of the business. After he had had a deep thought about his decision, he finally announced to Pete and his siblings (i.e. Dan and Sonya) that his wish is for Tony to succeed him. This decision brought a lot of confusion to their face, because everyone in the family always believed Pete was going to succeed Will after he is no more, including Pete himself. He told them it was for the benefit of the family and he wish they would accept his decision. Pete got very angry and stormed out of the room in rage. Pete had never considered Tony and his sister part of the family since they were born so he wasn't in agreement with his father for giving Tony the right to lead the family business after he is gone. Another issue that bothered Pete was that Tony was just a 20 year old boy and he was approaching his mid-thirties so he thought since he is the eldest, it was his birthright that was being given to Tony.

Pete felt he had worked so hard to let this slip through his hands. While this was going on Tony had no idea their father was planning on making him the heir to the family's business empire. He and his sister didn't spend much time with their father so even on his sick bed they weren't with their father in his mansion. They were with their grandparents where they have stayed since childhood but visited their father from time to time. So whatever decisions that was being made by their father, they didn't know and they weren't bothered since they were quite happy with their lives.

 A couple of nights after Will talked about his succession plans with Pete and his siblings, and despite Pete being in disagreement with it he still called for a family gathering and announced it in front of them. A decision that surprised his younger brother Tom since he always viewed Pete as the next in line. Or that was what he thought. Uncle Tom could see the problems that decision could bring in the near future so he tried his best to convince Will to rethink about it and find an alternative but Will's mind was already made up. According to him, he had given it enough thought and was certain that was the only way the family business empire could keep on thriving after he is gone.

 Through all this, Tony felt honoured but he couldn't bring himself to overtake his elder siblings in the family hierarchy so he humbly and calmly asked his father to reconsider his decision. But Will made it hard for him to reject the offer by asking him to take the position because it was his wish. And as the saying goes you can't deny a dying person his wish so Tony had no other option but to accept. Pete on the other hand saw Tony's sincerity as an act. According to him Tony was damn Happy to have been given the family business. Something he didn't work hard for.

After Will had become exhausted with all the arguments and shouting, he ended the meeting and asked Tonya to take him to his bed for rest and medication since the family doctor was waiting. A few weeks later Will passed away. After his funeral had been performed and everybody back at home, it was now time to talk about who will be their father's successor since some of the family members didn't agree with their father's choice. Especially Pete. Two things were obvious that day.

The first was that, they had l lost the only person who could have made such a decision and everybody would obey. And the second thing was that, all of them could feel and sense that no matter what decision will be made nothing was going to be the same ever again. It was time to pick sides, not just pick sides but pick the right one. You may not live to see the next day. Obviously it was going to be a game of two sides. On one hand was Pete with Dan and Sonya. On the other hand Tony and Tonya. Uncle Tom decided to stay natural and let this pass. With Tony and Tonya sensing they may not live to see the day, they decided to escape before day break. And true to their thinking, Pete was planning on killing both of them in their sleep.

While they were trying to escape at midnight through some of the family's secret tunnels that lead to the railway line, they bumped into Dan who was coming from an errand. Although he didn't like them and wanted nothing to with them, he still considered them his blood so he turned a blind eye and gave them passage. Besides he wasn't totally in agreement with Pete over the idea of killing them. When they got to the rails, the boarded a train and head to the Capital of the country. Pete ordered some men to take care of Tony and Tonya but they returned to tell him there was no one in their rooms.

Pete in a fit of rage called the men guarding their rooms and killed them on the spot. He ordered the guards to search every corner of the building and every tunnel in case they were hiding in one of them. At day break he finally gave up and accepted the fact that they had escaped with no one knowing where they went. Elsewhere, Tony and Tonya had reached Accra , the capital of the country. A city they had never been to before. They were in new territories with a lot of people. It was crowded more than Kumasi where they had lived all of their lives until then.

But as the saying goes when one day closes, other doors open.

Tony and Tonya are not your regular rich kids. They had a rich father with riches at his disposal but they grew up the hard way. And if life has thought them anything, they now know that life is not all bed and roses. When life throws lime at you turn them into lemonade. Will the twins make it in a city they are total strangers to, time will tell.
