I was all drenched, but still I kept running for my life ! I always kept ranting about this so called dull life of mine and now look where I'm !!

I kept running hastily in the middle of the night until my legs went all numb and I suddenly passed out.... and that is all i remember about the last night.

The moment I woke up , my head was all dizzy at the same time my whole body was in pain "uhm...ouch my head!!", I tried getting up on my own but someone came rushing towards me to help me get up.

"Here let me help you" he said

His voice - quiet deep and baritone...

"the brightness of the room is just too much for me can you please turn off few of those lights ?"

I opened my eyes properly and saw the man dressed in all black !

O my gosh I know I like man in black but that doesn't mean in such a way!!

His aura was kinda scary.

Even his silhouette was scary , his face was blur to me now don't freaking ask me why cause I wear glasses and all I can see with these bare eyes of mine is simply everything in low quality.

To put it out in simple words , it's like watching a video in 140p. I was scared to death but at the same time I was having such stupid thoughts going on in my mind.

He was starring at me and I can feel it and somehow see it too in low quality !!!

His voice interrupted my thoughts .

"How are you feeling now ? should I call the doctor for a quick check up?"

*ahem!! I... I'm fine! I'll get going now... I'll treat you to a lavish dinner someday but for now... I'll have to go.. "

I was dying to run away from the man standing infront ofme and that so called place... the vibe was just not mine !!! and I don't feel any sense of safety here...

" I'll drop you off ... come on!"

Dude seriously!!! now you're being creepy and sus and the same time

" No no! that's definitely not needed... i can manage on my own... "

" okay then... go ahead"

It wasn't a sentence that stated his affirmation rather it was a sentence that gave me a sense of mockery and sarcasm for some reason..

i might be wrong...but..for now rather than thinking about such rubbish stuff I should just run , I'm just not feeling well here and all i need at this point is my own bed to have some rest...

"Thanks again" i said while leaving .

"It was nice meeting you , hope we will meet each other soon..."

The moment I ran down , I saw few Ladies dressed as maid and they had their names written on their uniforms. one of them came upto me with a broad smile on her face ;-

Martha:- good evening ma'am , good to see that you're awake , what would you like to have for dinner?

"sorry... but I'll just take my leave thanks

for everything..."

"but where are you going?"

"I don't think it should be a matter of business for you! " i was so pissed that even with this condition I was being asked so many questions for no reasons !

"please stop joking around and go back to your room and have some rest I'll start preparing a nourishing soup for you ."

"Excuse me??? who do you think you are!! and what do you mean by I can't go out!!! I'll call the cops !! lady you better stop behaving as if you have the rights to control me at this point!!!"

"Miss why don't you just understand , you're married to our master and now this is your house!"

Few months ago ,

I was walking down the streets roaming around just to get some relief from the work stress when suddenly I heard few people attacking a poor guy , although he looked like some rich shit but still he has many scratches and wounds on his body. "Hey there!! you hooligans!! want me to call the cops ? 😏" I said while waving my phone at them but to my surprise they were not even scared ... like not even a bit!!! and now I guess helping a stranger is getting me into a big trouble with him!

"Boss, look a naive girl tryin to act clever" said one of those 4 men.

Before they could take any action, the boy screamed :- "if you want the money then have it!! but please! don't.. don't do anything to her!!"

" now that's like a good boy ." said the bald man before taking the suitcase that the boy was holding while all the strength that he had left within himself.

I was so scared but the fact that those greedy hooligans didn't do anything to me keeps me

assured that I'm not dying , at least not today...

As soon as the bad guys left , I ran towards the guy to help him out.

After an hour , his wounds were properly treated

in the hospital and I was relieved that I can leave too in peace....

"Hey! thanks for helping me you-"

"Most welcome, I'm Amanda and I don't need anything in return and now that you look fine I'll get going."

"wait but-"

I ran as fast as I could so that he won't come after me ever again .

while on the other side~

"Amanda it is"

"You might not want to see me again...but I definitely want to see you again...." *smirks*

while on the other side:-

"Damn! that guy... he was handsome and all but not my type 😌 I am already into Mr William and he's definitely the most gentle and caring person in this world"

I went back to my sweet little home where I lived all alone.

"*sigh* the only safe place of mine"

while I was thinking if I should write and upload a new chapter for my story or to order food or just to cook by my own , suddenly someone knocked at the door.

And weird thing is that I'm orphan and i barely know anyone cause I usually don't talk to people and there are just few of my friends at the company and none of them would visit me without informing me in advance.... now... it's literally 9:30 pm who could it be...?

I was literally frozen until the second knock strike my ears..

But after gathering all my courage , I went to open the door.

"wh..wh...who is it?"

"Hey Amanda! I'm joseph! the guy whom you helped today..."

"huh? weird thing what is he even doing here?!?" i murmured to myself before opening the door after peeping through it.

"Umm... what happened?..."

"oh well... i was passing by and since we are neighbours from today onwards so I just thought of giving these to you"

"I don't think it's needed..."

I said with a straight face cause honestly for some reasons I don't find him trust worthy.

"keep everything aside and tell me one thing how did you even come here and even if your house is just next to mine how does that even make sense that you are being so sure of the 'amanda' living next to you is me???"

"well... i know it's creepy and all but... I just wanted to give it back to you this... the medical fees... so I followed you ...and found out that you also live here... after knowing that we are neighbours, I went out to buy something for you as a gift of appreciation."

"creepy?? it's Scary!!"

I am definitely not one of those persons who would buy that lame explanation but I couldn't help it either since we are neighbours we might bump into each other more often so I just wanted to end the conversation as soon as possible and saying it straight forward at his face would have been a rude behaviour.

"well anyways.... thank you so much I'll keep these gift of yours... i guess you should just go and take some rest I'm tired too..."

"Good night Amanda"

"Good night Joseph "

I was all ready to go for my office until I noticed Joseph sleeping on the bench that is outside our both of our houses.

"hey? is everything alright?" I interrogated just out of curiosity.

"yeah... I was just waiting for you here..."

"um... and may I ask you why ?"

"I thought about yesterday and...and i know you must have found it very creepy so ...am really sorry for that. And to compensate for it I brought something for us."

"...And what is it?"

"here... the tickets for amusement park "

I looked at those tickets carefully just to find out that those are the premium ones!!!

"uh...i...i really don't think it's appropriate for me take such an expensive gift from you though..." 😅

"well it was given to me by one of my friends , so if you don't mind then shall we go there on Sunday?"

"umm...yeah.. why not well...am sorry about yesterday I didn't even invite you to come inside..."

"That is completely fine! i can understand"

"Thank you so much I'll get going now... my special friend is coming today to pick me up"

"special friend?" he asked with his eyes kind of fiery....

"umm.... yeah

actually there is this guy that I have been interested into since a long time..."

"oh , go on.."

"yeah see you later"

i really didn't want him to get any other intentions about me and thus i mentioned this special friend which was definitely a fake information.

But the way his face turned pale was stating enough of his intentions.

As a girl living alone I can't let my gaurds down...

(mean while Joseph's pov~)

special friend huh? that special friend of yours won't survive for long... you're just mine...."JUST MINE"

Nobody else is allowed to even pass through the streets that contains the smell of your perfume....

And even if someone does...they just deserve to die....

The following days went really boring since I couldn't see her. It seemed like she was nowhere to be found.

At least she could have informed me before leaving but I guess it's alright.... I'll just get to you no matter what..!

while on the other side:-

Finally I came back to where I used to live.... the orphanage which was supposedly my first home.

I met Sister Lily and the kids there , since my vacation is going on , I thought of spending sometime with these kids and sister Lily.

At least I'll be away from Joseph and I don't have any reason to worry about....

If only i could make more money from the job that I have been doing for years now... then i would have also brought few more gifts for the kids....

but *sigh* guess we will h ave to live our lives with bare minimum as usual

I was all happy with the kids and sister Lily until a call came informing me of the most terrifying news that I could ever imagine of ....

"Hello? is this Miss Amanda , living at street no 4 house no 5436 at xxxx valley?"

"yes I'm ? and who's this calling"

"We are calling from the nearby fire station and we are really sorry to inform you that your house was accidentally set on fire and we were able to save just few of your items, you can collect them from our main office, sorry for your loss ..."

"WHAT?!!! FIRE!!! BUT ..BUT HOW??"
