Your Name Is My Curse Word

Episode 1: The Origin of Birth

When I was a child, my mother told me that my father was a well known man and my existence was a secret from the world. I never had the chance to ask her why but I knew I had to keep my identity a secret. No one knew my real name except my mother, people around me have always addressed me as Princess.

I grew curious about my father as I got older, my mother would tell me bits of stories about him. She had once told me that he has unique clear blue eyes, a distinct characteristic of their family bloodline.

“You are born with his eyes, my love.”

“But, mother… why is my other eye a different color?”

My mother smiled and reached over to pat my head. She caresses my face as she stares at me with her pale brown eyes.

“Because you are also my daughter.”

I took her hands away from my face and brought it to my chest.

“Mother, now that I am a little older… Can I know my Father’s name?”

She gently wrapped her arms around me, bringing her body close to me. She hugged and took a moment to answer. The moment I felt her warmth, I knew what she was going to say.

“Once you meet him, You’ll know who he is.”

After that conversation with her, I knew nothing else about my father. How will I know him if I only know the color of his eyes? My intuition told me to believe what she said.

Now, a gentleman stood in front of me, introducing himself as my personal guard.

“Who sent you??!”

“His Majesty summons you. Please come with me.”

“Why would the Emperor....”

The man did not hesitate to use his strength as he took me, carrying me on his shoulder.

“I apologize to my lady. I am doing this by command.”

We rode on a horse. It was fast and a little frightening. But, I kept quiet thinking that I am in big trouble.

“My Lady, please don’t move around too much as you might fall off the horse and I would not be able to catch you.”

His deep voice calmly explained. I could feel the warmth of his chest on my back as we continued to travel fast, making me a bit self-conscious. Who the hell is this person? Why am I calm about this whole situation? Then, I recalled what my mother told me a year ago.

“If a man with blonde hair and green eyes approaches you, wearing an armour, do not hesitate to come with him. He is an ally.”

I did not understand what my mother told me that one day as it was so out of the blue. But, just like before, my intuition had told me to trust her. There was no way that mother had predicted that this would happen. But, as I sat there cracking my head open from such coincidence, the man slowed down as we approached the huge castle.

“Ada”

I spoke without thinking as the word entered my mind. Where did I learn that word?  The man's expression twitches into a surprised look. But, he was able to regain his composure quickly.

“Only a few know the formal name of this Empire…” He said. Then, he added, “well, then. I guess, I did not have to tell you where we are” he spoke to me roughly as if there was a quick change of wind. I shook my head thinking that maybe it was just my imagination.

The horse stopped in front of the massive wooden gate.

He looked up at the person above and signaled him to open the gates.

The heavy door slowly opened, dragging dirt as it cave in.

A few moments later,  the man impatiently races towards the opening gate as the gate continues to move.

I could hear cries of complaints and agitation approaching us from a distance. I could see anything as the dust still floats and lingers to the air, unabling me to see clearly what was ahead of me.

“Who are these people?”

“Don’t worry, they all work for me.”

I squinted my eyes trying to adjust my vision, thinking that it might help me see a little better from where I was.

“Why are they running towards us…”

I asked out of curiosity as I did not know what to do. As soon as they approached closer, their voices became more audible. Although, I was having a hard time understanding the words they were speaking as they ran towards us. I could tell the worried expression that was on their faces.

Without fail, even with being out of breath, they spoke in frantic as if they were all in a hurry.

“My goodness!

“Your Majesty!!!”

“You’re Majesty!

“Where have you been?”

“You’re Majesty.”

“Were you hurt somewhere?”

Their voices echoed through the castle wall like a loud sound ringing. They all looked at me puzzled the moment they realized my presence. Their stares were all studying my face. But, I did not say anything. Their eyes quickly shifted to the man behind me as we both got off the horse.

As they assisted me off the horse, they greeted both of us with a formal bow. Puzzled, I glanced back to the mystery man who brought me here, seeking a way to find more as to why I am here. As his subjects helped him put away his armor and gear, leaving them the horse and approaching me, he breathed in. It must have been tough to be in the armour all day as it was harder to breathe.

“Raaz.”

He spoke, calling a man named Raaz.

I sensed a man approach me from behind. The mysterious aura surrounding him gave me chills down my spine. I did not notice his presence until he made a move. It was as if everyone froze in place for a moment when he approached. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but this person seems dangerous.

“Help her. She might get lost.”

“Please tell me why I am here.”

I asked firmly. I do not know these people. I am in unfamiliar territory. If I could escape, I think its been too late.

“Princess…”

“!”

I jumped to my surprise when I heard he called me Princess. How does he know my name?

“I’m the current Emperor from the House of Rori, Enzo”

Chapter 2: Origin of Birth (2)

Enzo smiled, creating a curve in the corner of his mouth, making his eyes almost closed. It was not a forced smile, it was not a genuine smile either. Maybe it was a smile of reassurance?

"I have heard of you and your powers."

The word 'power' immediately caused a disturbance to my heart. What does this man know about me? The beating of my heart became loud and fast and I quickly became vulnerable as if standing there ***** for the them to see all of me. I took a step back unconsciously as if my feet already wanted to run away. But, I knew I shouldn't and I tried to stay calm.

"My mom said that you are an Ally…"

A surprise expression formed quickly. But, only for a matter of seconds. He quickly returned to his old expression of that smile.

That smile. Why is it so hard to read what he is thinking? That smile is making me doubtful of my mother's ability to see the future.

'I think you got the wrong person, ahm-- Your Majesty?'

He laughed at my serious remark. I did not understand whether he was teasing or he just wanted to get my attention. But, if it was to get my attention, it was working like magic as I was curious as well as to what this man knew about me.

"Princess, right? That's what they call you. Then, I should be correct."

Enzo turned around, leaving me curious on the spot where I suddenly felt empty. For a second, I forgot Raaz's complete presence until he spoke in a low voice.

"Are you ready to leave?"

I glanced at his intimidating figure. The air around him seemed so unapproachable. I just nodded in response as I felt the dryness of my throat slowly invading inside.

He led me straight to a long quiet hall. Suddenly, I was surrounded by a cold feeling coming from the hall. There was not much to see as the walls that would usually have paintings displayed over them were plainly empty. Why do I feel like we were the only people walking in the wall?

"Is anyone here?"

"No."

He plainly replied, sounding uninterested.

"Hmm…"

"We're here."

I looked around a little more and finally settled my eyes to what was in front of us. It was a dark closed wooden door.  I felt something. What is it? I did not know how to explain it.

Raaz opened the door slowly and I realized the door wooden was thick and heavy as it made a small heavy sound. The inside of the room was pitch dark as the windows were covered in blankets to avoid the light sipping through.

From where I was standing, the cold atmosphere overwhelms the entrance as it spreads outside the hall.

"Why are we here…?"

"Majesty wanted to see what you were capable of."

"Does he really think I have powers?"

He looked at me as an answer, gesturing for me to enter the cold dark room. What is there to expect? I could not see anything as my eyes were having a hard time adjusting to the darkness. I walked slowly, carefully placing my feet into the surface of where I was walking.

'Throne.'

My eyes looked ahead, focusing at the end of the hall where I saw a shadow of a throne placed in the middle of an empty space. There was a majestic feel to it as if there was a person sitting there and waiting for an audience.

"Hello?"

I called in a weak voice, trying to get rid of the dryness in my throat. The echoes answered back back with a hello. But, no one was there. I approached closer as if my body was getting pulled by the gravity of the throne. I did not resist and follow my instinct.

As I approached the throne closer, my thoughts started invading inside me. I felt foreign to this place, but the throne gave me a sense of familiarity. As soon as I got closer, I realized how huge the throne actually was. I touched it and felt nothing. But, it got me curious as to why I was there alone, looking at the throne that attracted me in an ineffable way.  My hands run through the hard surface of the seat. Again, there was nothing special about it. But, I did not understand what is the curiosity that was building inside me. Finally, I sat on the throne.

The moment I sat on the crystalized throne, I felt that time had stopped for a second. No, it was for a minute. Then, I recalled what my mother told me when I asked about Father.

[Once you meet him, You'll know who he is.]

What did it mean? I did not understand at first.

I closed my eyes and saw a figure that was standing in front of me. My heart beat fast, surprised at the sudden appearance of a stranger standing in front of me. He was looking down at the floor, taking his time to occupy and gain his presence.

[You are born with his eyes, my love]

I knew my mother would not lie to me. I know she was telling me the truth when she said that my father has the same eyes as mine and that when I meet him, I will know who he is. But, standing in front of me was not human. I was at the presence of a God.

He smiled, acknowledging my presence in the room.No words came out of my mouth as I was utterly speechless.

"It has been a long a time and now, I have finally meet you."

He calmly said.

"Is this why I am here?"

"Your purpose is bigger than you think."

I tightened my grip on the hard surface of the throne. It was the last thing I remember before I passed out.
