LAS VEGAS, two weeks ago...

' .... the detectives are on the murder case of the mysterious death of Shelly Anderson, an average girl found dead near club Juju two days ago. The victim was examined to be drained out of blood and bitten by what seems to be an animal, but the detectives are not certain......' the news woman reported.

Thomas Lockwood picked up the controller and turned the volume down. He adjusted himself on the couch and sighed.

"well done Arnold, you've really out done your self this time" Thomas said to the person standing behind the couch he was sitting on.

"am sorry, it was a mistake" Arnold Lockwood to his elder and only sibling.

" mistake!?, I don't think killing somebody like that was a mistake unless you are the victim" Thomas said slightly annoyed.

Thomas stood from his seat and went face to face with his stupid younger brother.

"you killed somebody" Thomas stated.

" I know, am sorry" Arnold said knowing why his brother was so bothered about this.

"don't worry Thomas, i covered my tracks" Arnold said and Thomas took few steps back.

He chuckled loudly.

"no, your tracks are already covered thanks to me" Thomas said. "why can't you just control your self, stop all this" Thomas said frustrated.

"am trying to, believe me I am" Arnold said frustrated and fell lazily on the couch.

"we came to Las Vegas to have a life for ourselves, to hide who we really are, we can't just keep moving" Thomas said trying to get some sense into his brother.

"we'll have no choice but to move if something goes wrong, we'll go live somewhere else, plus, I didn't want to come to Las Vegas in the first place"

"moving away from country to country Arnold, that is not called living, in our case, it's called running away from the life we had lived" Thomas said and walked out of the huge living room annoyed.

Arnold always thought Thomas had it easy to control the desirable hunger for blood.

Thomas had years and years of practice and I mean over two centuries. While Arnold just wasn't comfortable with the alternative of human blood. Blood bags or animal blood. He liked the idea of fresh warm human blood, but not the idea of hurting humans for it, but what other choice does he has. Thomas only takes blood from blood bags once in a while and vacates from it for a long time. Arnold doesn't understand how his brother can stand it without going all crazy and insanely hungry and still look perfectly fine. Arnold knew he has to do something about himself because he was tired of his brother's scolding and non stopping lectures and warnings.

...Arnold got up from his seat. He promised himself not to take human blood directly for as long as he can hold it. For once he wants his brother to be relieved when it comes to him....

Las Vegas, October 31st

Katherine Forbs gets out of her car and took a look around the King's Crown highschool. It was already 10:40 on her phone. The school was decorated to scream Halloween. Katherine gave out a loud sigh. She really didn't wanted to come, but it's her birthday and she didn't which to celebrate it , so her tempting dad and annoying elder brothers forced her.

She locked her car, which was a birthday gift from her father. With her head high, she walked elegantly into the school. She entered the ballroom-like hall where the party was going on, whirling light, happy music, expensive wines delicacies, excellent interior decorations. Flinging her hair flirtly, not that she meant to flirt around or anything, to her it more like an expression that says ' hey today is my birthday '. She looked around for anyone familiar and saw her two reliable pretty best friends walking towards her with warming smiles.

" hey! birthday girl!! " Chloe Michaelson busted out looking hot in her cat woman's costume.

" I thought you said you weren't coming?! " Jennifer Maxwell asked looking both surprised and happy to see her.

" uhmmm, I don't think that how great a birthday girl Jennifer? " Katherine said teasingly and she giggled which made look cute in her bunny costume. She stretched her hands and pulled her into a hug.

" am so sorry, happy birthday KTY, and please try to be happy " Jenny said and Katherine couldn't resist but hug her back with a tear almost dropping from her eye.

" uhnnn!, leave a space for me " Chloe said quietly and they opened up for her to join in the warm penguin hug.

Katie and her friends shared an unbreakable bond. They've been friends since grade school. They all came from wealthy families. As their pretty princess-like life may seem perfect, they all have messed up shit in them .

Katherine's mother doesn't exist anymore, not after her birth. This was why always treated her like this on her birthdays, with warm hugs, comforting words and gifts, they knew about her situation being the only girl living in a whole mansion with her dad and two elder brothers. To Katie, celebrating her was celebrating her mother's death.

As for Chloe, her parents divorced, when they found out she was a bastard. She lives with her wealthy wayward mother. Although Chloe was social and interactive when it comes to boys, she's nothing like her mother.

Lucky Jennifer have both parents, two lovely younger brothers and they all lived happily together. Jennifer was smart ass, a genius, the only problem she has is the issue of boys. She doesn't know how to make her relationship last longer. The boys tagged her as a push over, but we can't blame her, those boys were jerks anyways. It's just sad that a sweet girl like Jennifer always end up with the wrong type of guys.

" so, tell me, why did you change your mind? " Jennifer said curiously.

" we were going to come visit you before midnight and sleep over " Jennifer said and they was an hint of excitement in her eyes.

" don't tell me you have a secret date here that we don't know about? " She whispered. I rolled my eyes at her.

" two reasons, and a date is not included " Katherine said and gulped up the rest of her punch. " first " Katie paused then continued. " it's my birthday, and secondly, my dad and my annoying brothers made me come " Katherine said.

" can we switch dads? " Jennifer said and Katherine looked at her dumbfounded.

' why would she want to exchange when she has a great dad ' Katie thought then realized it was a joke and chuckled. Not that her dad wasn't great too but she will never want him to leave her.

" why would you suggest that? " Katie asked.

" cause my dad is always trying to stop me from going to parties and yours is forcing you " Jennifer said and Katherine laughed out.

maybe it's because you are too much of a party animal " Katherine said.

" I can't help it, its my thing " she said proudly at herself and Katherine couldn't help but smile at how funny her friend is.

" hey KTY, have you seen Arnold anywhere? " Chloe asked looking worried.

" no I haven't " Katherine replied.

Chloe and Arnold have been dating for almost two months now and she's already obsessed with him. Arnold was their senior in school. Katherine doesn't like Arnold on bit. He seems to be hiding something from the world, something dark. Katherine always feel that darkness whenever Arnold was around them. Katie had thought of warning Chloe about him and how she feels towards him.

" I know she loves him or whatever, but something's off with him and I think Chloe should know " Katie whispered to Jennifer while watching their backs in front of them.

" I don't think you should Katie, besides Arnold makes her happy and I haven't seen her this happy in years " Jennifer said reasonably.

Jennifer was right, Chloe had gone through so much and she didn't wanted to be the friend to take her happiness away. Since Katherine couldn't tell Chloe, she told Jennifer about how weird it feels around him but Jennifer would only say she is over thinking it because she cares a lot. Katherine thought for a second, maybe she was or maybe she wasn't .

Katherine doesn't understand why she was the one that feels this way. All the girls in school are blinded by his gorgeous face. Arnold was indeed handsome and Katie can't deny that. Chloe never asks about his whereabouts when he doesn't show up as expected which is so awkward since she claims to in love with him.

Chloe doesn't know anything about him except he was handsome, a good kisser and all the other nonsense she brags about. She really doesn't know his family, wether he has a family or not, his other sides, his favorite things to do and the worse part is that she does whatever he tells her to do. It shocked her friends because the Chloe they knew didn't like to be controlled, especially by boys.

" have you called him? " Katie asked.

" I can't, some idiot crushed my phone by accident " Chloe hissed.

" okay, I'll call him for you " Katie said searching inside her purse for her phone. Then she cursed inwardly ' shit ' .

" I must have left it inside my car, let me go get it " Katherine said and walked away.
