Chapter 1
I blink behind the big glasses I wear that is big enough to swallow my small face
My brown hair flows at the direction of the cool wind as I contemplate if this university degree is necessary or I’m just good opening a coffee shop and live my life in peace.
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Enough dreaming. This is a different world. Things work differently here. Like getting a clearance from campus before you are allowed to roam without parental permission so shut up and deal with it.
That’s right. I have been surviving for good eighteen years in this world of werewolves and vampires.
With right cautious steps, I’m sure I’d be fine until my adulthood.
That’s the pep talk I have to myself when I see a dark hole in my future.
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Hello. Can I know where is the enrollment session?
The lady with glasses bigger than mine stares me down with her authority.
Working People
“New enrollment?”
Working People
Go straight and turn right. The second door to your left. All new admissions are there
I nod and thank her before going the way she instructed.
I enter a noisy class where papers and some stuff flying here and there.
Probably the boys trying to impress the girls. I walk to the end of the hall and sit in the dark where I’m not easily seen.
Crossing my hands on the table, I lay my head on my arms and watch out the horizon through the floor length window.
My mind plays my old memories.
Memories from my last life.
I’m not sure how it worked
I remember closing my eyes after a very content day with my family. I knew I wouldn’t survive.
I had pancreatic cancer. It was found a little late so there was not much we could do about it. I died young, but I didn’t have any regrets.
I completed my studies. Took care of my family who loved me equally as much.
Won the best businesswoman award and was first until the last day I closed my eyes.
But I’m sure my mom was sad. I didn’t have a guy I cherished and never fell in love. She said it was a beautiful feeling.
I understood where she came from, because dad loved her just as much, she loved him.
I did wish for love like that, but never fret because what I had was just perfect.
Love and care from my friends and family made up for all the love a lover could have given me.
When I opened my eyes again, I was an infant.
Growing up, I realised this is a different world, and this was my second life.
What surprised me was the memories and knowledge I had from my last life. In order to survive, I coped with all the knowledge I had from my last life and it was helpful.
I was born an orphan in the werewolf territory so I was labelled as a werewolf.
But since young I was called the freak. One, when I grew up, I had silver hair.
Two, I never mingled or understood the animal instinct that comes with being a werewolf.
Like the strong hearing or sense of smell.
All these made me a freak.
Living my past life as a human, I thought these differences are because I’m simply human.
Although, I knew that is a crime in this werewolf world, I couldn’t have been so wrong.
At the age of five, I discovered I could talk to animals. Not talk talk, but I could understand them.
And when I was bullied or alone in the orphanage, the land and trees were my friends.
The branches would move and cradle me in lonely nights and somehow the bullies would trip before they got to hurt me.
I started studying and found another secret of my birth. Life couldn’t get any worse.
If any soul finds that out, I would be burnt alive
So, I learnt to live in shadows.
I learnt about potions and spells in secret and changed my hair colour and hid my face with bangs and glasses.
I’d rather be called a nerd, than be burnt for simply being born this way.
A slam on my table shook me out of my stupor. Damn it! I didn’t need this early morning.
Raising my head, a pretty brown eyes stared into mine. The girl is very beautiful, but she looks like the exact illustration of the mean girls.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
You’re new here? I’ve never seen you around
She raises a brow and gives me a look over,
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Or heard of you. Care to introduce yourself?
I gulp. Not in fear, but at the prospect of being targeted by a rich and powerful kids.
Being bullied means getting attention. That is not something I’m aiming for
Solana Ruiz [FL]
I’m new here
I look around, unsure what to tell her.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
I figured. What is your name?
She asks with a tilt of her head
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Solana. Solana Ruiz
My reply comes out in a whisper and I fix my bangs on my forehead so my face is covered.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Solana. Hmm. Nice name. I’m Jennifer. Daughter of Beta Zayn Fernendez
She holds out her hand with a smirk
F*cking h*ll! I had to catch the beta’s daughter eyes. I’m so damn sure I am her new toy for our first year.
? ? ?
Leave the new kid alone, Jen.
I look through my lashes and see a handsome boy around my age.
He flings his arm around Jennifer’s shoulder as he stands in front of my table.
Lovely, if it wasn’t enough, the Alpha’s son had to join the fun too.
The next heir to the no.1 werewolf pack. The Red Moon Pack.
And here I was wondering why all of their names are familiar.
They are all the next heir and big name in the pack.
There is also a rumour that Jennifer would be the next Luna of the pack as she is the childhood sweetheart of Ezekial and also because of her noble bloodline.
Why is this happening to me?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Hey, new kid. Where are you from? Neighbouring pack? Never seen you here?
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
That’s exactly what I asked
Jennifer says, deadpan and turns her attention back to me.
I see her lean closer to Ezekial even though she smacked Ezekial’s arm on her shoulder which he tactically ignores.
First day in Triglav School, and I do not see the bright future people told me about. Is it too late to open my coffee shop without a degree?
Chapter 2
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
So? Where are you from?
Solana Ruiz [FL]
I... I'm from here...
I tuck a strand of my hair behind my hair as I fiddle with my blouse ends
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Here?
Frowning, Jennifer shares a glance with Ezekial
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
That's not possible. We would have known you.
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Who's your father
Solana Ruiz [FL]
I'm an orphan
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Oh...
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
I'm sorry.
Clearing his throat he offers.
I nod, not sure what to say
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Which orphanage? If you have no parents, how did you get in here?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Jen *stops her*
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Tsk. I'm just asking, what's the big deal?
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Triglav school isn't easy to get in
She turns to me with a scowl
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
So new kid, how'd you get in?
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Scholarship
My eyes darts to the sides of me
Thank God everyone are busy with their own stuff
If this interrogation doesn't end soon, I will be toast!
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
You're the scholar?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
So you're the one we're looking for?
Solana Ruiz [FL]
*frown* Looking for?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Yeah, you're in the wrong class, new kid.
Solana Ruiz [FL]
No. *shake head* This is the class I was told to join as first year.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
*roll eyes* That's for others. You'll be joining our class.
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
*nods* We've heard a lot about you.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Yeah. The professors just wouldn't shut up about the scholar who scored 100 in their test
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Isn't your class a year a head from this class?
My question comes out hesitantly.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
*raise a brow* You're eighteen?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Damn it! I can't believe I'm talking to a kid
Solana Ruiz [FL]
*glare* You're only nineteen!
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
*shrug* But we are older than you.
I stare at them, speechless
Solana Ruiz [FL]
I thought you guys were here to mess with me?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
We are messing with you
Solana Ruiz [FL]
So I don't have to switch class?
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Nope. You have to.
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
We've been looking for you since morning.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
We were waiting at the entrance
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Uh-huh *nods* With a welcoming board too.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
I can't believe you missed it
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
We put our hearts and souls in preparing it for the scholar
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
And looks like she just walked by us.
My head turns at each of them as tbey talk
My headache rising with the crap they utter
Solana Ruiz [FL]
You guys are messing with me
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
*snort* Absolutely. You think we would stand outside holding a f*cking welcoming board?
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
Who do you think you are? Obama?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
We won't go out even for Obama, new kid. Can't believe you fell for it.
He looks at me in pity and I feel the urge to smash his face with something hard
Don't. That would cause too much attention
We are running away from it. Not pull it with us.
Standing, I straighten my clothes.
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Then, let's not waste time than we already have.
I smile tightly and wave my hand forward.
Solana Ruiz [FL]
After you
Jennifer flips her hair and walks forward as Ezekiel passes me with his smirk as if it was so fun talking with me.
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
What's up with the tree and why is it cold all of a sudden?
From my peripheral I see the tree branches moving frantically
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
It's probably the wind
I breathe out and calm myself and the tree stops moving
At least not as aggressive as it used too.
Please don't blow my cover, greeny. We have a long way to go
They lead to another class which is relatively quiet
I look around the place and spot an empty space at the end of the class.
Delighted, I step forward to get lost in my shadows when a hand hold me back with my collar
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Easy there, new kid
I know I said I'll be patient, but these kids are making it hard
Maybe I can cause a flood in his dorm room
Or a little tornado during his experiments
? ? ?
Who do we have here?
I close my eyes in resignation as a shadow falls over me
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
Hey, Gab
A boy with silver hair comes to my vision
He looks cold. His face devoid any emotion of what he feels
He nods at Ezekiel, but his eyes stays on me.
Gabriel Rodriguez [Novel Villain]
*tilt head* Hello, little one.
Gabriel Rodriguez [Novel Villain]
I'm Gabriel. The King of Witches and Wizards of the West.
This time, I gulp in fear.
What is the King doing here?
And why are all these names so familiar. This is a different kind of familiar I'm talking about.
I shake his hand in greeting
Gabriel Rodriguez [Novel Villain]
*raise a brow* You don't know?
Jennifer Fernendez [Novel FL]
I would've been surprised *checking het nails* She's a nerd who scores hundred in theory and practical, obvioudly she wouldn't know what is happening outside her little bubble
Gabriel Rodriguez [Novel Villain]
Make sense. So what are you?
Solana Ruiz [FL]
I'm sorry?
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
What he's asking is are you a werewolf? Vampire? *smirk* or maybe Gab'd kind? A witch
My breath hitches at their question
I'm sure they meant it innocently, or even playful
But every time I hide this particular information, I feel like my lifetime is cut short.
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Wait? Did you say Gabriel?
Gabriel Rodriguez [Novel Villain]
You want me to repeat myself?
He asks neutrally, but I can see he is not happy with my question
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Gabriel, as in Gabriel Rodriguez?
I ask and I can't believe, eighteen f*cking years, and fate still loves f*ck me over
Gabriel Rodriguez [Novel Villain]
Yes. Any more questions, little one?
Frozen by the revelation, my eyes jumps from Ezekial to Jennifer to Gabriel.
This isn't f*cking different world.
This is a f*cking novel!!
The hero, heroine and the villain!
Solana Ruiz [FL]
Oh My Goddess *whisper*
Fate must f*cking hate me
Ezekiel Ambrose [Novel ML]
What? Surprised to find all of us in one class?
No, surprised how my life is going to turn haywire!
