Mismatched Frequencies {HBC}
Prologue
At least once in our lives, we all might have prayed to the cupid that please next time hit us both. But have we ever wondered that maybe the person we claim to be in love with might also be praying the same thing?
Everything might have started with a little crush but it does not always have to end with a lot of tears.
Situations might differ, behaviour might differ, and frequencies might differ but feelings stay constant.
Garvita Singh (fl)
It aches so much to know that he will never see me the way I see him.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
I never carved for attention, not until I felt how yours feel like.
We start hating ourselves for knowing how we can’t help but feel the same for a person we want to detach ourselves from. We feel like waiting for something which is not going to happen.
The most beautiful yet tragic part of this kind of love tale is that we find them when we are not even looking for them.
The sentiments we fear to tell them, the courage we lack to go ahead with might be the only thing which will enable us to either gain love or let go of everything we held dear about them at once and for all.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
You know sometimes it's the right person but the wrong time, you know what I mean, right?
Garvita Singh (fl)
Yeah, Yeah, I do!
Let’s head into the saga of unmatched frequencies where our leads will often ask themselves, “Will Love Survive?”

Chapter 1 - The Study Date
Garvita was peacefully sleeping without a care for the world. The clock was striking at 4:50 PM.
Her phone rings out loud and with a jerk she picks up the call, stirring awake so fast.
Garvita Singh (fl)
📞 What do you want? I was sleeping!!
Viren Mathur (FL Bff)
📞 What do you mean sleeping, bro? Don't ya have a date kind of thing at like 5?
Garvita Singh (fl)
📞 Date? *in process*
Garvita Singh (fl)
📞 Wait-
Garvita Singh (fl)
📞 Oh my f_cking God! I had to meet that guy for the project today!!
Viren Mathur (FL Bff)
📞 Yea, I just wanted to ask if that guy was okay or not, but guess what? You are late for your date.
Garvita Singh (fl)
📞It's not a date, man but anyways you are not going to understand whatever comes out of my mouth, go talk to your girlfriend!
Viren Mathur (FL Bff)
📞 You know-
Garvita hangs up the call and starts rushing around.
Garvita Singh (fl)
It's 4:55 already, even if the Cafe is like 10 minutes away I will still be late!
Garvita Singh (fl)
Gosh, I need to sleep at night and not in the day!😭
Garvita keeps on mumbling to herself and starts hurrying herself to get ready.
Garvita hits her left hand on the small study table near her bed.
Garvita Singh (fl)
Gosh, this is going to swell up.
Garvita Singh (fl)
*pokes the hand*
Garvita Singh (fl)
Definitely going to swell up!😭
Garvita Singh (fl)
*glances at the clock*
Garvita Singh (fl)
IT'S 5 ALREADY!!!!😭😭😭
Garvita changes into a new kurti and jeans fast and runs out the door after grabbing her purse and phone.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
It's 5:15 already, is she even going to come or not?
Dhruv felt annoyed and bothered because he couldn't tolerate being late to anywhere or being held up in a task which was supposed to be done a long time ago.
Minutes were ticking away, and he has already texted Garvita thrice and even called once but no reply came from the other side.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
*feels a tap on his shoulder*
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
*turns around*
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Garvita? You are late!
Garvita Singh (fl)
I know, I know, and I am so sorry! I slept late last night so thought of taking a nap, but it turned out to be a whole-fledged sleep!
Garvita Singh (fl)
Ahh! I am rambling, ain't I? So sorry!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
It's okay just take a seat now!
Garvita Singh (fl)
Yes sure!
Garvita Singh (fl)
*hits her knee in the table*
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Oh god! Are you okay?
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
*stands up immediately*
Garvita Singh (fl)
I am okay, I swear. I am just a bit of clumsy sometimes!
Garvita Singh (fl)
*laughs awkwardly*
They both finally settle down.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Do you want to order something?
Garvita Singh (fl)
Ah, sure!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Let me ask the waiter for the menu!
The waiter soon gives him the menu.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
For her-
Garvita Singh (fl)
I am a regular here, he knows what I want, you just order for yourself!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Oh! *nods*
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Then please get me a classic coffee.
The waiter wanders off to the kitchen area.
Garvita Singh (fl)
It was really surprising for the professor to announce such a assignment, tbh!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
I know, It's a golden opportunity!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
A few interviews, and report summary and we get full credits for this semester!
Garvita Singh (fl)
Yea, he is being really generous, that it almost sounds fishy.
Garvita and Dhruv dwell in the deep talk of how to tackle the assignment.
The professor of Social Psychology (semester II) has offered them a special assignment, in which if they complete it they will get rest from making weekly presentations for the whole semester.
They have to take interviews of women and men who suffered Social trauma and make reports based on their experiences.
It was a tough assignment, but the reward was really promising.
Dhruv and Garvita both were determined to get through this one so that they can have a peaceful semester.
Chapter 2 - Knowing Each Other
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
So any idea on how to find people who will be interested in coming forth?
Garvita Singh (fl)
Yeah, I am part of this online mental health community on Instagram.
Garvita Singh (fl)
That group consists of several people here from Delhi and from a few more cities.
Garvita Singh (fl)
For Delhi people we can surely have interviews in private and if we need more we can do online as well.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Wow, you came really prepared-
Garvita Singh (fl)
Ah, yea actually-
Garvita Singh (fl)
*awkward*
Garvita Singh (fl)
*the one who can't differentiate between a comment or compliment*
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
I meant it as a compliment!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
I should have found something as well-
Garvita Singh (fl)
It's really okay, I am literally always reading or using my phone, so the idea just popped up-
Garvita Singh (fl)
(sh_t😖😖)
Garvita Singh (fl)
(when will I stop ranting so much?)
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
*laughs sweetly*
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
You really are a awesome partner to work with.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
We have got a month to work on the assignment, why not let's get to know each other first?
Garvita Singh (fl)
Good idea!
Garvita Singh (fl)
Our coffee is here as well so why not!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Let's start with the basic introduction-
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
I am Dhruv Rathore, as you might already know, I am 19 and I like reading and knowing about new things.
Garvita Singh (fl)
I am Garvita, I am a reader too, I am 19 and I enjoy coffee and sleep.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Coffee and sleep?😂
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Rather ironic duo, isn't it?
Garvita Singh (fl)
It's not ironic I swear, I can sleep even after chugging two cups of caffeine.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
You have my respect for that-
Garvita Singh (fl)
*laughs*
Dhruv looked at her laughing face with awe and just sipped her coffee trying to hide back a smile.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
(She is a sweet person)
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
What kind of books do you read though?
Garvita Singh (fl)
Fiction. You?
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Mostly, self-help but I have recently made-up my mind to read the Kalki trilogy.
Garvita Singh (fl)
Oh, I have heard of that so much but didn't get to read it!
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
What about you? What are you reading?
Garvita Singh (fl)
*awkward*
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
It's okay, I won't judge. *smiles*
Garvita Singh (fl)
(Gosh, that smile-)
Garvita Singh (fl)
I am reading The Way I Used To Be by Amber Smith.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Oh, never heard of that one, probably because I don't read fiction-
Garvita Singh (fl)
It's a rather underrated book but it really touches a nerve inside my heart for me.
The conversation was flowing sweetly between them when Dhruv notices the large blue spot on her left upper palm.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
What happened to your left hand?
Garvita Singh (fl)
It's nothing-
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
It doesn't look like nothing, you need to apply something on it-
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Like a ice pack or something-
Garvita Singh (fl)
I am really fine-
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
No wait, let me settle the bill and we go and get a ice pack for that hand of yours.
Garvita Singh (fl)
Dhruv, let me at least get half my bill-
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
It's fine really, you get it next time.
Dhruv settled the bill and soon enough Garvita and Dhruv were standing in front of a medical store with Garvita placing an ice compression on her hand.
Garvita Singh (fl)
There was no need for this you know-
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
Gosh, you should be more careful and take care of yourself.
Garvita just smiled and noded.
Dhruv Rathore (ML)
You have got beautiful hands, I must admit.
Garvita Singh (fl)
Thank you for the compliment I guess-
Both look at each other and laugh while admiring one another.
