Archnemesis (Taekook)
Prologue
Short, rich, and handsome, Kim Taehyung was always the center of attention. But after transferring schools in his second year of high school, he discovered that his limelight was snatched by his Adonis classmate, Jeon Jungkook.
Taehyung was very resentful, and he and Jungkook became arch nemesis (one-sidedly). Although the two lived together, they were like strangers.
When Taehyung went back home to attend his grandfather's funeral, he accidentally inherited the Yin-Yang eyes that had been passed down from generation to generation. After gaining the ability to see ghosts, the timid Taetae discovered that his two-person dormitory was actually a sixteen-person (ghost) room. Every day, he was scared to the point of collapsing.
The more aggravating thing is that because of Jungkook's innate body constitution, he possessed an abundant amount of Yang energy. Taehyung found out that whenever he touched Jungkook, Jungkook's Yang energy could temporarily disable his Yin-Yang eyes. A light touch would disable it for five minutes, a kiss for an hour, and so on...
Taehyung had no choice but to throw himself into his arch nemesis's embrace. This complete reversal in attitude to being intimate with Jungkook persisted every day from morning till night.
When sleeping, he must squeeze in the same bed as Jungkook. Going to the toilet? He must drag Jungkook with him. Homework? It must be done hand-in-hand with Jungkook... He also had to try his best to persuade the teacher to make him Jungkook's desk mate. Every day in class, he would rub Jungkook's calf with his foot beneath the desks...
Following the clingy little bastard's sudden change in personality, the initially shocked Jeon Jungkook gradually became smitten. Every day he would chase Taehyung to flirt with him, make crazy confessions, and even routinely pin him against the wall and kiss him to express his devotion...
Jeon Jungkook
Don't you like me? I like you, so let's be together.
Kim Taehyung
I don't like you! Don't come over! You pervert!
Five minutes later, to avoid seeing ghosts, Tae sneakily came to touch Jungkook.
Jeon Jungkook
*turned around, stopping his hand* After you just rejected me, you come back to flirt with me!?
Kim Taehyung
Who's flirting with you! I was careless and touched you; don't imagine that I like you back. 😗

1. 108 billion people died on earth
*....* - What they are doing.
"....." - What they are saying.
(......) - What they are thinking.
In the music room, Kim Taehyung sat on the piano stool while looking at the music score.
This was the music for his solo piano performance at the school's arts festival one week later. Since starting high school, Taehyung's everyday piano practices have greatly reduced. Because of the recent school transfer and the new environment, he was not able to touch the piano for almost a month. The music that he had previously been able to play with both eyes closed now felt unfamiliar.
Taehyung reviewed the score again. Laying the book flat on the music stand, he prepared to play the piano.
Kim Taehyung
*At this time, a pleasantly deep voice flew to his ears.*
Someone
Our school's Fourth Culture and Arts Festival begins today. Culture forges our school's spirit, arts...
Kim Taehyung
*couldn't resist glancing at where the voice came from.*
In the front of the music room, a male and a female student stood on a platform. The female student was called Choi Irene, the neighboring class' president. Beautiful, gentle, and eloquent, she was chosen to become the arts festival's female presenter. Standing next to her was the male presenter, as in Tae's archnemesis Jeon Jungkook.
[Archnemesis - A big enemy to someone]
No, to be clear, Kim Taehyung one-sidedly decided to make Jeon Jungkook his archnemesis.
Jungkook himself seemed to not know about this......
Kim Taehyung
*secretly stared at Jungkook.*
He wondered what Jungkook, that second-year high school student, ate in order to grow to 184 cm tall. Yet unlike the usual lanky bamboo pole-like physique, Jungkook's body was well proportioned with a decent amount of muscles. With his pleasingly handsome face, and due to his physique looking extremely dazzling while wearing the school uniform, he was publicly known as the most attractive boy in school.
(A/n - Beware the muscle bunny, fear the muscle bunny 😏.....)
You can still grow more at 17 years old. Some people grow earlier while some people are late bloomers.
Kim Taehyung
(Wait until we're 20 years old and let's see who's taller!)
175 cm Taehyung thought angrily as he absent-mindedly started to play the piano score in front of him.
Kim Taehyung transferred to the boarding school a month ago, during the start of his second year. This came about because his father was sent to work at the company's branch in Europe, leaving Taehyung without anybody taking care of him. His mother wanted to stay at the old house. The teachers and the quality of education in that city clearly could not compare to the ones in Tae's current school. As a result, Father Kim put his foot down, determined to send off the pampered-since-childhood-young-master Kim Taehyung to the boarding school.
Jeon Jungkook - the overall-pretty-good guy had a handsome face, was good at sports, was multi-talented, and had a rich family. If not for his personality that was rather cold to strangers, you can say that he was perfect.
The thing that made Taehyung most bitter was the 4x400m relay race that he participated in. He carelessly fell down while running. Although he immediately got up and tried his best to run while enduring the pain, he was still surpassed by some people. However, when he passed the baton to Jungkook, Jungkook unexpectedly caught up to three people in one breath.
Nobody blamed Taehyung after the race was over. Two enthusiastic girls even approached him for the first time, giving him water and medicine and helping him treat his wounds. But seeing everyone treat Jungkook like a hero made Taehyung feel like he was compared to and found lacking.......
Since elementary school, the person who was always the most popular in school sports competitions was me, ah!
--In short, he felt all kinds of annoyed
Kim Taehyung
*he bit his lips, absent-mindedly playing the piano and making a mistake.*
The bell rang, signifying the end of the class.
Kim Taehyung
*anxiously stopped playing the piano.*
This was the afternoon's last self-study class. To prepare for the arts festival, the teachers gave lots of support to the two presenters and to Taehyung, who needed to practice the piano. Every afternoon during the last self-study class, they came to the music room to practice. Taehyung played the piano while Jungkook and Irene practiced the actors' lines, neither party bothering one another.
As the piano melody stopped, Irene's clear and charming voice could be heard.
Choi Irene
"Jungkook, are you going to go to the canteen?" *sweetly*
Jeon Jungkook
*Jungkook's tone was indifferent* "I will go later."
Taehyung didn't think that Jungkook really wanted to go later. It must be because he just didn't want to go together with Choi Irene. According to his observation, Jungkook seemed to be completely immune to beautiful girls.
[Immune - Totally or partially resistance to something]
--When Taehyung was barely transferred to the school for a week, he was relaxing near the doorway when a beautiful girl from another class suddenly ran towards him and shyly gave him a lovely-looking envelope. Taehyung was ecstatic; he thought that as a result of his endless charm, somebody already wrote a love letter to him despite only transferring in several days ago.
Kim Taehyung
*He felt very proud of himself and smiled, asking a question that he already knew the answer for* "Who is this for?"
A girl
*Spoke with a red face* "I'm sorry to trouble you, but please give this to Jungkook. Thank you."
Kim Taehyung
*who waited for the girl to answer with "you"* 😑
At his previous school, Taehyung was also at the level of "most handsome boy at school". He was not tall, and he was quite slim, but he was very handsome. With his delicate facial features, he could simply be described as "beautiful". When he was little, he was always mistaken as a little girl. Beautiful young boys like him were usually considered very popular at school. But compared to Jeon Jungkook, the handsome and masculine Adonis, Taehyung really was a bit lacking. At least for boyfriend material, girls still prefer Jungkook's type a lot more.
Taehyung was full of anger. Grabbing the letter, he returned to the class, and threw it at Jungkook. He then went back to his seat. Both people's seats were only separated by an aisle, so Taehyung clearly saw Jungkook's indifferent look while casually throwing the love letter on his desk.
Kim Taehyung
*Couldn't hold it in anymore, and he was not done dealing with him, blurting out* "Are you just going to put it there?"
Jeon Jungkook
*Glanced at him, asking* "Should I throw it on the floor?"
Kim Taehyung
"No, what I meant is you didn't even look at it?"
Jeon Jungkook
*Raised his eyebrows, looking at Taehyung's face and asking* "The one who sent it was a girl?"
Kim Taehyung
*Thought was that this was bullshit, but his lips were saying* "Right, a very pretty one."
At that time, Taehyung didn't think anything of it. But afterwards it somehow felt weird when he thought about it again. However, his relationship with Jungkook had been gradually getting worse, to the point of not speaking with each other. Asking about this kind of thing is out of the question, so Tae could only keep his doubts to himself.
In the music room, the rejected Choi Irene felt a little unsatisfied. She remained in the classroom, asking a question in Tae's direction.
Choi Irene
"That's right, did you guys hear the story about this music room?"
Jeon Jungkook
*Coldly kept his head down, turning the script's page and not making a sound.*
The atmosphere was a little awkward. So Taehyung quickly responded.
Kim Taehyung
"What story?"
Choi Irene
*spat it out: "It is said that a person died in this music room. At night, if you stay here, maybe you can see something you shouldn't see."
Taehyung wanted to contribute to the conversation, but Jungkook laughed, head still looking down at his book, and said:
Jeon Jungkook
"Since ancient times, there are 108 billion people who have died on earth, people have died pretty much everywhere."
Kim Taehyung
*Turned his head. Facing away from Jungkook, he gave Jungkook a huge eye roll.*
Kim Taehyung
(Will it kill you to not act like a pretentious prick?)
Irene went to the canteen. Jungkook leaned on the bottom of the podium, head in the script. Taehyung started to play the piano.
Halfway through playing the music, Jungkook suddenly threw the script on top of the podium. Without saying a word to Taehyung, he turned his head and left the room with both hands in his pockets.
That's right, Jeon Jungkook also somehow didn't like Kim Taehyung.
There were two main reasons for this.
First, because Jungkook's personality was rather independent, he didn't like to mix with people. In addition, his father donated money to the school, so the teachers heavily favored him, continuously letting Jungkook live in the dorm without a roommate. However, after Taehyung transferred, the school didn't have excess beds. They could only put Taehyung in Jungkook's room, disturbing Jungkook's one-man world.
This was actually not the main reason as Jungkook was not a narrow-minded person. At the start he also thought to get along peacefully with Taehyung. But Taehyung, whose limelight had been snatched and was feeling like it was unfair, usually acted negatively towards Jungkook. Jungkook was also not stupid. Although he did not know the exact reason, he could figure out that the boy was full of hostility towards him. As a result, he gradually ignored Taehyung. Although the two were in the same grade and lived in the same dorm room, they were not on speaking terms, mutually treating the other as if he didn't exist.
Once Jungkook left the music room, Taehyung stopped playing.
He tidied up the music book and put it inside the piano stool before hurriedly leaving the music room, acting as if somebody was chasing him from behind.
(A/n- I do the same when everyone leaves the class 😭)
Talking about this is quite embarrassing as Kim Taehyung didn't think of himself as a coward. Many people were afraid of bugs, snakes, or mice; Taehyung wasn't afraid of those. When he was a kid, he grew up in a village and was immune to those small things. However, he had one Achilles' heel: he was afraid of ghosts. Just now, Irene rambled about a story that was half-true and half-false, but Tae didn't dare to stay in the music class alone.
[Achilles' heel - Someone's weak point or fault in something]
When Taehyung was small, he was raised in the village by his grandfather. His grandfather's profession, if seen through modern lenses, can definitely be characterized as a fraudster. The years living with him were bizarre, but he could not see what real skills his grandfather had. At that time, his grandfather's favorite hobby was to tell Taehyung ghost stories. The stories were incredibly realistic, and the young Taehyung was full of curiosity. Although he was extremely afraid of ghosts, he always forced himself to listen to these stories. When he was growing up, he became even more afraid of ghosts and until now still did not change.

2. Didn't you just win?
After going to the canteen and quickly eating his food, Taehyung returned to the classroom. He wanted to concentrate on finishing his homework, so he could relax when he returned to the dorm room at night.
After self-study class, students were given a long break in order to eat dinner. After the break, it's time for evening self-study until 8 pm.
Returning to his seat, Taehyung opened his math practice book. Just after he completed two questions, he saw Jungkook entering the classroom, carrying a stack of papers. Seems like a teacher caught him in the corridor and asked him to deliver the papers.
Jungkook gave out the essay papers one by one without any expression on his handsome face. Taehyung looked around and saw that it was an essay paper that the literature teacher assigned a few days ago.
Kim Taehyung
*Pursed his lips, nervously keeping a close eye to Jungkook, who's only 1 meter away from him.*
After returning the paper to the student in front of Taehyung, Jungkook's sight fell on the next paper in his hands. The hand holding the corner of the paper paused, his eyes stopping at the paper for at least three seconds.
Jeon Jungkook
*One side of his lips raised slightly, and the smile looked a little mocking somehow.*
Kim Taehyung
*heart thumped repeatedly*
Jeon Jungkook
*Held back his smile, earnestly putting the essay paper in front of Taehyung. Then, he turned his head and gave the remaining papers to other students.*
Kim Taehyung
*Looked at the burning red "15" mark in front of him, as well as the literature teacher's comment: "Straying off-topic." These three bold words were written on the back of the paper and penetrated through the pages. His two ears became red.*
Not to mention his tadpole-like squiggly handwriting.......
Literature essays were Taehyung's sore point, but he was pretty good with other subjects. The parts that needed to be memorized mechanically in literature, he could remember it perfectly. Taehyung could grasp the parts that needed hard work to go through, but since he was little till now he was always bad with writing essays, and his handwriting still looked atrocious. Filling out eight hundred little squares was like peeling a layer off of his skin. Every time he wrote, he would always painstakingly use a lot of punctuation marks to boost up his character count. This semester he was already a sophomore in high school, but it could be said that his essays were still at an elementary school level.
Kim Taehyung
(Why did Jungkook have to see this!)
Kim Taehyung
*Staring at the essay paper for at least three seconds, who would believe that Jungkook didn't do it on purpose!*
At this time, the main culprit, Jungkook, was currently standing in front of the white board located to the right of the classroom door. With an expressionless face, he used the magnetic pin to stick an essay paper to the whiteboard. Jungkook wrote calligraphy beautifully and his literary talent was also outstanding. Thus, his essays were often displayed by the teacher on the whiteboard as model essays; this was clearly something that the literature teacher made him do.
Jeon Jungkook
*Gave him a look, not saying anything.*
Kim Taehyung
*Took the opportunity and said with a small voice: "You're blocking the door".
Jeon Jungkook
* raised his eyebrows*
Not only did he not get mad, on the contrary, he showed a mocking smile. For the first time in three days, he talked to Taehyung. Enunciating clearly, he recited.
Jeon Jungkook
"Today, the weather was clear; there wasn't a cloud in the sky, fluffy white clouds...."
The classmates sitting on the first and second row heard it and started to giggle.
Kim Taehyung
*Face turned green: "...... You!"
Kim Taehyung
(This asshole!)
Jungkook stopped. Using his fingers, he lazily wrapped his essay displayed on the whiteboard before placing his hands in his pockets and returning to his seat in the last row.
Taehyung hated it; he simply wanted to lunge across the room and bite him to death.
To show that he was not purposely looking for trouble, Taehyung walked out the door, went to the men's bathroom and turned around to return to the classroom. He sat in the third last row, separated diagonally only by an aisle with Jungkook. When he was walking back to his seat, Jungkook, who sat in the last row, raised his chin slightly, folded his hands, and looked at Taehyung with an expressionless face. A long leg stretched out, as if wanting to stretch it arrogantly from the last row all the way to the third last row, straight through the aisle. On that foot, he wore a limited-edition Nike basketball sneaker, the one that Taehyung coveted for a long time, yet continuously couldn't obtain.
Precious limited-edition shoes are like this: even if you have money, you can't always get to buy them. If you have no money then you definitely won't be able to buy them.
Kim Taehyung
*Angrily stared at Jungkook.*
Jeon Jungkook
*Raised his eyebrows innocently, then following Taehyung's gaze, he looked down. His sights fell to the shoes on his feet.*
Jeon Jungkook
*Deliberately swayed his feet, successfully provoking Taehyung. He joyfully looked at Taehyung's resentful figure retreating.*
Kim Taehyung
*Sat down in an imposing manner and broke the chair with a loud bang!*
Jeon Jungkook
*Laughing, spread out the exam paper, looked down and started working on it.*
Taehyung still continued on the math practice book he was previously working on.
Kim Taehyung
*His face already looked calm, but inside he was very flustered.*
High school students usually need to wear the school uniform in school. The only few things that can make them look different are shoes and watches. Taehyung couldn't afford expensive watches, so his hobby was to save his pocket money to collect nice sneakers.
When transferring to the boarding school, Taehyung had a special suitcase for his sneakers. Inside, there were six pairs of expensive, awesome-looking model shoes.
On the first day of his new school life, Taehyung wore his favorite pair: Nike GALAXY Big Bang. Full of confidence, he prepared to greet his new roommate's admiring gaze.
Kim Taehyung
*He mentally repeated the line that he already prepared: "I bought the shoes on eBay".
Just like in the past, when the other party asked about the price he would calmly answer with this line....
Kim Taehyung
*A little pretentiously: "Not expensive, just a little more than nine thousand, but not as much as ten thousand".
That's right, he's exactly like this - an incredibly vain boy!
Also, very capable of acting!
Taehyung wore the sneakers well. Jungkook just came back from the water room when his sights fell on Taehyung's sneakers.
The conceited classmate Kim aroused all the cells in his body, preparing to start the act!
However, Jungkook's expression did not waver a little bit. He only looked for less than a second before he moved his eyes, as if it was a one-hundred-yuan pair of common sneakers you can see on the street.
Kim Taehyung
(This dude - it couldn't be that he didn't recognize the Galaxy Big Bang from the start, Waah?)
Jeon Jungkook
*Put the water basin on the shelf. He silently opened the big three-shelf shoe cabinet laying at the corner of the room; that shoe cabinet had at least twenty pairs of sneakers. In a split-second glance.*
Kim Taehyung
*Could see some pairs of limited-edition sneakers that even he did not have* - (they were ridiculously expensive!)
Among them was the pair that he currently wore, the Galaxy Big Bang.
Taehyung also didn't look closely when he came to the dormitory last night. How could he know that his roommate would surprisingly build himself a special shoe cabinet? Although he did not really do anything.
Kim Taehyung
*Could not help but feel the pain of a villain who just got slapped by the main character.*
Jeon Jungkook
*Stood in front of the shoe cabinet for a moment and took out a pair of shoes, a different one from the one that Taehyung wore.*
This whole time, Jungkook actually didn't seem to glaringly flaunt his collection in any way. He merely opened the cabinet, picked up the sneakers, and wore them. That's all. Furthermore, he also carefully avoided picking the same sneakers as Taehyung. But the fact that he owned more than twenty pairs of limited-edition basketball sneakers was enough to stab Tae's petty little heart. Basically, he didn't even need to show off anything.
Kim Taehyung
*When Jungkook wasn't paying attention, he dejectedly put the remaining five pairs of shoes under the bed.*
Kim Taehyung
*His cheeks were red as he pulled himself out from under the bed, it was extremely embarrassing.*
Afterwards, Taehyung gradually started hearing about Jungkook's various achievements from his classmates. For the most part, it was about how outstanding he was and how much of a reserved male god he was. Hearing about this made him feel wronged. In his last school, his classmates would talk about Taehyung during breaks, but now he and his classmates gossiped about somebody else instead. The gap in between was too big and the fact that his protagonist halo was snatched fermented in his heart. It got out of hand quickly.
Kim Taehyung
"Aish......" *groaned as he closed the math practice book that he smoothly completed. He took out another book*
[High school student's outstanding selections of essays],
Kim Taehyung
*Forcing himself to look.*
He can't always lose so shamefully, ah!
At eight o' clock, the evening self-study class finished, and students should go back to their dorm rooms.
Classmates who live in the same room usually would have a pretty good relationship. The two people would talk and laugh while walking to the dorm room. Only Taehyung and Jungkook were like this: one walked on the left side of the street and the other walked on the right side of the street, as if there was a river separating them. Taehyung also walked on the curb, as if wanting to make himself look taller.
Both people's speed was originally similar, but as they walked Jungkook seemed to quicken his pace. Taehyung felt that he was losing out a little bit. As a result, with his must-never-lose personality, Taehyung also walked faster. In several seconds, he walked past Jungkook.
Jeon Jungkook
*Tilted his head, as if he felt that it was amusing. He also walked faster, surpassing Taehyung again.*
Kim Taehyung
*Resentfully walked even faster......*
Suddenly, it became a race!
However, Jungkook had long legs, so his stride was naturally superior. Tae quickly found out that he couldn't chase after him. His face became hot, he ran towards the dorm.
Jeon Jungkook
*Stared at Tae's rabbit-like figure as he quickly ran farther away. He amusingly said in a low voice: "Fuck, is he crazy?"
Jungkook's desk mate, Jung Hoseok, coincidentally passed by and asked.
Jungkook and Hoseok's relationship was pretty good.
Jeon Jungkook
"I just found out that my roommate is a little idiot."
Jung Hoseok
"Why did you say 'little'?"
Jeon Jungkook
*Turned to glance at the 178 cm Jung Hoseok, saying: "His body is small, why?"
Jung Hoseok
*Teased* "Sounds like a nickname."
(In Chinese manner 'little' is usually used as an endearment.)
Jeon Jungkook
*Sneered: "A nickname? Then it's okay if I call you that?"
Jung Hoseok
*Winced: "Not possible."
While running back to the dorm room, Taehyung finally realized that his action earlier was really stupid.
Because he was feeling embarrassed, when Jungkook returned two minutes later, Tae's face was several degrees more expressionless than usual.
Kim Taehyung
(Let's try using a poker face to cover up this embarrassment!)
Jeon Jungkook
*Wasn't affected by the little idiot's attitude. He leaned on the wardrobe and gazed at Taehyung, humorously asked*
Jeon Jungkook
"What's with the serious face? Didn't you just win?
